What's funny is that no matter how high a level you get in chess, if one player makes a huge blunder, the other player very often makes the same mistake, because they have too much respect for their opponent to even consider things like they were getting a mate in one or a free piece. Meanwhile if they were playing lower rated players they would be checking a lot more for simple blunders and generally never miss them.

Hikaru is just huffing copium if he thinks magnus didn't see that mate in 1. Magnus spent a good 20 seconds before that knight move. Yes, people GMs can miss mate in 1, but mostly when they are moving in 0.1 seconds. Any GM(99% of the time), if given 5 seconds, would spot that mate in 1. That's just how hikaru is, isn't he? When he wins, ofcourse he is playing to win. When he loses, ofcourse he is just playing for content.
