Yeah, both players playing for the draw but neither one offering a draw. This seems like Magnus saying that he does not want to play against Hans and Hands is equally willing to take the draw as Black against Magnus. Maybe Magnus still feels like Hans cheated and he is not willing to let it go, either way he is not a chess computer here, the human brain got in the way.

It undermines the entire integrity of the game when someone who has been shown and admitted to cheating in the past is allowed to continue playing. A cheater never admits to the full extent of their cheating, only what they have been undeniably caught of. Chess is not a right, it's a privilege, and so Hans should not be allowed to play anymore, no matter how good he claims to be.

Barring a search that found a device on Hans or other direct evidence of cheating, fairplay teams conduct a bunch of statistical analysis to determine if his play is representative of how a human would play as opposed to a chess bot. I'm not an expert in this so I'm not qualified to comment further. Basically, they dont have a smoking gun but can still conclude to a significant degree of confidence Han's play was likely not his own.

Just because you can't find the thief doesn't mean stuff wasn't stolen. Things may be true without it being possible to prove them. Most importantly - Niemann didn't answer truthfully when given the chance in SL, cheated in over 100 games including prized events which means he is not above stealing money from other players i.e. cheating when real livelihoods are on the line. The top prizes for participation in these high-level tournaments are in the tens of thousands. Even if he doesn't win every tournament, he'll get paid good money for placing near the top just because of the sponsors and funds of these elite competitions sometimes. Is this not motive enough? Niemann has a pattern of cheating, stealing and lying about it. If he thinks he can get away with it, don't you think he'd cheat, steal and lie again? It's who he is.

@foreverinvaliduser didn't understand the thief analogy there. So you are saying if something is stolen, we should blame it on someone without proof? Or should we a person who committed a pettie crime 10 years ago and put him to jail again. No trial needed. Lol just give a proof
