    Calculator trick is one that seems easiest to guess how it is done. When he is handed the phone, he subtly presses "=" once again. That will add the "code" again to the previous result. He has probably trained shit ton of mental math, so he subtracts whatever he saw on the phone as first sum from the second number that he only glances for a second. Once he knows the code , he prearranges the four cards and then forces those cards pretty obviously on Huberman. He didn't really choose random cards, he was handed four specific cards. Forcing stuff is always so wild, it seems like a huge gamble but seems to work everytime.

  • @nApucco

    @nApucco

    Almost: He doesn't even need to do any math. Pressing C and then = reveals the secret code immediatly. The rest is correct. Increadible forcing skills. And for some reason it always works.

    To make such a comment, I am guessing you know how the tricks's were done? Hypothetically, let's assume that Asi used real magic to perform these tricks. Wouldn't you agree that real magic is far more impressive than just a "trick." Because you assume it is a trick, you are trying to judge the merits of trick from a position of ignorance rather than a position of knowledge. With that being said, do you have the proper knowledge to be able to distinguish real magic from just a trick? Or are you just assuming it is a trick and judging it on creativity and presentation? IMO, before someone critiques a trick, they must prove it is a trick first, then that person can judge from a position of knowledge. @robbiereekie3694

    Asi's a fantastic magician. Is he the best alive? He's a contender, but it really depends on what you value in your magic. It doesn't really make any sense to say 'he's the best'. He's not the best performer. He's not the best card handler. He's not the best mentalist. David Blaine thinks he's the best though, and Blaine's in a better position to make that judgement than I am.

    "Trick" at 10:39 revealed: They have boom mics above their heads to record sound and in the wide angle shots the upper 20% of the screen are comped in. Huberman happened to move his hands into the comped in area when doing the "mind blown" motion. In editing they had the choice between removing the comp (and showing the Mics in the process) or letting his hand "disappear" for half a second. They choose to go with the latter. Easy! 😅

    For those who don't know: Asi Wind is an absolute genius. He is the mind behind a lot of David Blaine's performances. He's got this version of "Triumph", which is so hot damn creative... I came up with an easier way of doing it, which does not require a pressure fan, but the rest is his. I do 2 "Triumphs" now: his, and the Irish Shuffle. His creative mind and contributions to the art of magic are significant.

  • @ImOnAGoat91

    nice spot. My best guess is that it has something to do with the flash. It's broad daylight, the regular camera app woudln't trigger the flash. That can't be a coincidence. He must've turned it on on purpose. That also explains why the camera angle switches as he takes the picture. The wallet is a "magic wallet" that somehow reacts to the flash and makes the card visible on the picture - Remember, it's Asi's wallet, not Hubermans. The card that will appear is predetermined and the real trick is then to make Huberman guess that exact card. No idea how he does that though.

  • @puupipo

    @puupipo

    Ай бұрын

    @@JB_inks Took me a minute to think that through but my best guess is that the wallet has a screen where the card should appear and a light sensor, and when the flash from the camera hits the sensor the screen quickly flashes the image of the card so that it shows up on the photo.Then it's just a matter of "forcing" the person to pick that card which is something that I know good card magicians can do.

    @@ImOnAGoat91 He doesn't have him think of the 3 of hearts, he forces him to draw the 3 of hearts. He had him think of the 3 of diamonds, and tell him, then he stalls, finds it with the deck face down somehow and then sneaks it in the wallet when he asks him to draw card halfway out the first time. It's the only time he's touching the wallet with the deck and his hands as obstruction so it has to be then. The execution and slight of hand is still baffling though. The rest is just showmanship.

    This is a good catch. I think the card is always in there. The actual magic is the card suggestion. the stumble over the wallet, he is triggering something to remove the covering that made it wallet look empty. As for the photo, whatever was blocking it is reactive to the camera flash. meaning when photographed with the flash, it reveals the card. Maybe far fetched, but that's my 2cents.
