My first thought reading the comment was that this person clearly didn't watch the entire video. Person, it wasn't as much about the pornography as the directing a community known to harras ours right to us. I'm normally jumping into the anti-kink-shaming group (not jumping into the comment section, though) but that video was the best at pointing out what the problem is.

That first person clearly hasn't heard of the "cosplay is not consent" thing you hear all the time in the cosplay community because there are creeps that would harass cosplayers that dress like their favorite character. I think there should also be a "Subculture is not consent" thing within any alternative fashion community. Normally I don't care what kinks people are into, but when they start being a creep to some non participant (or worse, a minor) just because they look a certain way, that's when it becomes a problem.

And then there's the whole issue where many younger cosplayers feel pressured to do lewds in order to get popular, and how cosplay and lewd modeling have become conflated in the public eye. They're both fine and valid, but they're not the same thing, and kids shouldn't feel they have to do lewds to be 'successful' in cosplay.

@@Sarcasmhime Honestly, a lot of older cosplayers also feel pressured to do lewds who feel very uncomfortable with it; it's the other side of the problem Tyler pointed out in that video about the fact that Instagram assumes you're fine with seeing adult content if you're a legal adult and doesn't provide an easy way to opt out.

Totally thought the “fell out of the stupid tree” comment was gonna end in “...and landed in Belgium.” Lol

I feel the need to clap back at the first comment from low-hanging fruit. It's not about who owns the right to these dresses, because of course that's not what we're talking about. The problem is that the porning question was tagged as Lolita, and on top of that was age accessible for everybody. It was very easy for the poster to actually make it to where minors couldn't access it, except they refuse to do so. It's really not about wearing some of these clothes and sketchy circumstances so much as we have people that have very flimsy ideas of boundaries coming after minors in an age inclusive space. And whether or not cosplayers lose their s*** over something is a bit of a broad statement given that you can't say that all cosplayers would be favorable or consenting or even have that kind of reaction in the first place because the term costplayer is rather broad, it includes a humongous group of people. The Lolita Community is really small compared to cosplayers as a whole, and again we are a mixed age group, IE there are minors in our group. Minors, who do not have the age of consent , so the idea of showing fetish porn to a group of non-consenting minors in addition to non-consenting people in our community in general is really disturbing. The complete argument about people being able to do whatever they want with their clothing is kind of a strawman given that that's not what the argument is about in the first place.

Exactly... call me a kinkshamer all you want (and I may be biased on this topic as a sex-repulsed ace), but the freedom to share your kink anywhere you want, including in spaces with non-consenting individuals, is not some God-given right, especially if it's one like this that can be triggering to numerous people. I don't know much about broader kink communities, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure consent is one of the most important principles in participating in these communities. Exposing kink content to the unwilling masses (including minors, who can't consent) is literally breaking that one fundamental rule. But then again, I might just be traumatised from accidentally finding the ddlg community on tumblr at about age 14 (y'know... before censoring nsfw content for minors was a thing). Also agreed about that argument being a complete strawman. No one's saying you can't do what you want with your new AP dress in the privacy of your own bedroom - just don't tell me about it.

Question - how much editing goes into your scripts for this show? What is the writing process for your scripts? I got so happy seeing "Lolita horror stories" thinking it was Lollita literature but then I saw it was actually horrorible experiences. I want to write Lolita horror stories (fiction) but am not sure where to go and how to publish it. side note - I think the commentor is just really confused, that happens when you get 37 concussions and have parents that appear several times on the same family tree in multiple positions.

Yep! A great rule of thumb is “if it is non sexual don’t make it sexual” ie don’t post kink and tag it lolita, you wouldn’t do that for a baking tag so why do it for a fashion tag

That third one hits scarily close bc I live within 5 minutes distance of the confluence of 3 different countries and have, in one day, driven through no less than 10 countries. Except that Coplayers have been going on giant CAMPAIGNS about how Cosplay /= Consent for years. There have been issues at cons for DECADES because the only place some people have ever seen cosplay is in porn and they think that if you're wearing cosplay that you're asking for porn things to happen to you. This is one of the issues that you brought up in your video. Cosplay should actually be something you can use as an example of WHY this woman wearing lolita in porn is a problem! UGH!
