I'd buy this shirt. I'm a Houston local and would wear it around the weekend of the con. I'd even put on the back explaining on why to boycot AM. I have too many friends who just ignore the problems of this con, while others have experienced all this mess first hand (They haven't come out publicly so I won't share their stories).

I know it would be a lot of work to do something like this, but if you so entertain the idea, then maybe you could donate proceeds to a charity like RAINN.

Offering tokens/tickets to an arcade (in exchange for her number) sounds suspiciously like the attempted enticement of a minor and it baffles me that anyone can hear this story and NOT want to hit this couple with the heaviest textbook one could buy.

Loved the serious "tell their stories" note.

Yeah, and you'd think there would have been *at least* criminal charges/convictions over their illegal business practices, if nothing else. I mean holy crap, even without the harassment there's fraud, theft, embezzlement...how does it all pile up for them without even the *remote possibility* of jail time...?!

It's disheartening to see so many people still supporting AM and the Leighs so I'm glad someone is still willing to call them out! I remember when Cathy Cat announced she was going to AM and there were several comments on the vid about the sexual harassment scandal. I came back a couple of days later to check if there was a response from Cathy and all of the negative comments had been deleted! I was so disgusted that I unsubscribed from her and the other two channels that you mentioned.

Oh, jeezus, I need to clean out my channel subscriptions. Also, I feel you on the whole group project thing.

People are gonna say 'she was in Japan maybe she didn't hear about all this'. But I think after you get a huge flood of comments about a specific brand/person I think it would be better to wonder why these comments from your supporters are happening rather than closing comments. Cause many of the top comments I saw on that post were were informative and not outright bashing.

already said most of this o im just gonna copy paste other post and add onto it. contracts dont work the same in Japan she works for a company she may never have signed the contract but her company has and there by cannot say no without risk of being fired there was most likely alot of third party contract signing if the contract also states you can talk badly of the product or talk about the contract then you cant say anything and honestly id rather be seen as a supporter of a shit human being and keep my job rather than be homeless and on the street and im pretty sure you would too

Am small pile of salt. I say too many words, and thank you for having the patience to make it through them.

What I'm about to say is not meant to act as a defense for Cathy's actions, but a potential explanation to consider in the fog of confusion we're in right now as we have lots of questions and few to no answers; Japanese business contract function INCREDIBLY differently then most contracts in western countries. I have never personally signed one, but I have had many Americans privately share their contracts with me as examples of what to expect when working in Japan; it is entirely possible that Cathy isn't commenting because of what she has formally agreed to with her primary employers way ahead of this ever happening. As a foreigner working in Japan, her ability to stay there and be able to hold a job is dependent on her respecting Japanese business practices, which come from a perspective very different then what you may assume should be "normal". Again, I am not trying to defend or excuse anything, I just really think this is important to consider; a lot of people assume Cathy is working with Wonderland directly, when the reality could be that she is working with them through more then one layer of Japanese business, meaning her livelihood is tied to upholding loyalty to her company and not to Wonderland. It is entirely possible she might hold a personal opinion we're not aware of due to these complications. So to sum it up, if you are going to write an angry letter, I would say it's better to send it to the companies surrounding all parties involved and not to Cathy. Again, not because Cathy is innocent, but because it is not as productive as actually contacting the big fish orchestrating all of this.

I absolutely agree with this, and I’m in the ‘dissapointed’ side. The most likely thing is that she’s under contract now and can’t say anything regardless of her opinion. While Japanese businesses tend to drop anything that might give them any sort of bad publicity, they also have all these layers and third-party businesses running the show, which makes it not only confusing but complicated and ‘details’ get lost really easily. The coverage of AM might have been signed beforehand and then everyone got stuck with it, and for the benefit of the doubt, she might have not even known she was modeling until the last minute and had no way back, or being told that it was only a ‘Putumayo collab’. The unfortunate thing is that she’s the one now stuck with the consequences.

SweetManiacDeluxe no this person is saying she might not hsve signed this contract directly, her big boss did. catie works for WAO! she is inder contract with said WAO!... if WAO! decided to sign a contract with the Leighs, catie has no say in it and no right to refuse said task given to her. she may also be ordered to stay quiet about it. in that case its the question: will catie refuse, lose her job at wao, lose her visa, go back to germany and basically give up her own dreams or will she bite her lip, take and post said photos, and keep her job, visa and dream. MORALLY speaking most would say option 1 is the best. but we all know majority would do what catie is doing, because your brain often sides with whats best for you individually

I can tell you right now with certainty Cathy does not agree with any of Leigh's actions. She is also NOT their 'friend'. It was just a gig set up by her employer. It is not fair to bash her. If i stood in her position i'd have just done the gig too and got it over with.. and move on... even knowing what the Leigh's have done. It's not like they killed or raped anyone. Leigh is just a crook that has a perverted mouth. If he talked like that to me i'd just tell him no and focus on getting the job done.

I feel like I stepped on a landmine.. I had completely blocked Anime Matsuri and that dude from my mind.. Not gonna lie, I wish I had brain bleach now.. (mushroom-headed-f+ck-nugget is a beautiful insult)

I am so sorry. With any luck you'll have those memories locked back in the "Do not open upon pain of cringing" box soon enough, and in the meantime I recommend kittens. Take two times a day, or if you're allergic, find yourself a nice hypoallergenic pet rock. (Side benefit: can be thrown at predators, human or otherwise)

It kind of grosses me out that I've had a conversation with him before. Maybe it's the fact that it was in a public setting and not online, that he didn't enter creep-mode. Never the less he does know how to get what he wants, by twisting things around, and is very arrogant, even when talking about a business-related topic.
