That was me, I shall proudly bear the shame of being Party-Killer Apocalyptic Lolita (Cassandra for short). My only excuse is that I live near Washington D.C., a city full of highly-educated, very depressed people and sometimes it's a little hard to switch out of that mindset. To stave off the Mad Max Lolita future (but not the fashion because that sounds amazing), please VOTE for officials who will FIGHT unethical lobbying and corruption, and enforce environmental protection laws and air quality standards. And, if at all possible, reducing or modifying your own personal meat consumption can have very significant, positive effects! (chicken or pork is better than beef, farmed fish is better than chicken/pork)

Yay!!! I knew I was on the right path!!! I don't eat beef, like at all. I'm vegetarian but in a city where meat is EVERYWHERE and veggies are expensive it gets hard, so I've had to eat meat but I refuse beef always. I tell my dad that if I absolutely need to eat meat I'll eat chicken, fish or pork, that they are generally less heavy on my stomach and environmentally less impactful anyways...

I recently joined big sisters pf lolita and posted a cord idea. They told me I had the wrong socks shoes and petticoats. I thanked them fixed it and reposted it. I got nothing but praise this community isn't toxic at all...they saved me from buying the wrong stuff. Francis just pulled it out of her ass. Also I love you Tyler! In my younger years I remember lending a indie brand dress/coord to a friend of mine who was also very interested in Lolita. She returned the dress to me several months later with it drenched in cat urine.

Loaned AP pastel pink and white print brand dress, lady sloth clock jsk, bodyline beaded beaded ribbon blouse, so sugar hearts blouse, milky railway blouse, aatp black head bow, and antique beast bat wing head dress out for close friends I thought I could trust for an event. Items were returned to me stained with SOY SAUCE, spilled drinks, grass stains, ripped seams and fabrics, completely smashed lines of the head dress for antique beast like they stuck it into a hand bag and sat on it? Some of the items were literally fixed and sold for UNDER 15 DOLLARS for as is damaged brand or indie, rest was garbage and tossed. Never again will I loan new items to newbies who don't understand the items values. They get lacemarket items and help buying instead so they realize the value.

I'm a figure skater and I feel like we are the athlete version of your aesthetic. Can't wait to walk around in the empty wastelands of our major cities, torn and broken down from years of nuclear battle, only to see the bright colours of the lolita biker gangs fight to the death in the distance. At least their bright pastel dresses will bring some happiness to the apocalypse, symbolic of times when human life had worth. Humanity may die but style won't.

Funny how this is relevant to what some of my friends were asking last night. They said they could help me with the fashions I like and my cosplay. Then it turned in to can we do bondage lolita. To which I explained the fashion was based off modesty and if you asked anyone else they would have ripped out your throat. That Cosplay and Lolita aren't the same thing to which they way I think is this Lolita can be cosplay but Cosplay can not be lolita. Reasoning is their are characters who "Dress in Lolita" but, you try wearing the same thing to a meet and they will skin you a live. Glad I was the one who had to deal with this.

So I called down) I was almost going to frantically look up the economic stability of China. Sweet baby omega way to give a girl panic attack. KiniroKitsune I'm so sorry I upset you! It's something I discuss a lot, so I didn't think of the effect my post would have on someone just going about their normal day. Don't worry about China, they can handle themselves. But if you'd like to take action, as a SA lolita, whatever you could reasonably do to protect or raise awareness about the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest could be very effective.

Why is that sock drawer comment so relatable and universal

honestly? as much as lolita is escapist, we need to confront the fact that "political issues" such as climate change and economic policy can and will impact things that we might not think are related to politics at all. this is why demands to "keep politics out of [insert whatever thing here]" are so frustrating! politics and policy impact literally everything in our lives! unfortunately we can't ignore politics (at least not all of the time), and in order for society to get its shit together everyone needs to speak up and do their part so that the apocalypse doesn't come to pass within our lifetimes. so yeah, follow the news, stay informed, and inform others as well. we all have a responsibility to ourselves to do so.

My personality is a mixture of metalhead meets j pop completely hetero yet so fascinated by Lolita's culture because 9 times out of ten I find like minded people in this fashion genre. I'm crying for that girl on the pavement in lolita and I dont have an OP or a js or any lolita tbh. Also for mmm just spring for some stitching even killstar knows when you should do that ffs!

I mean it's not like there's a whole ton of options for people who get interested in Lolita after seeing it in conventions without them being shooed away or basically being shot if they don't leave a chat fast enough for the high crime of being Weebs. I personally heard about Gothic Lolita first and just thought it was a subset of Victorian Goth fashion and was shocked after I'd seen Pale, Pink, and Animal Print versions of this fashion I liked in a local convention. I realize that the community *can* be very nice. Gothic Lolita's I've met have been very nice, various Lolitas at anime conventions are very nice, Cosplayers who happen to have parts of their outfit that lean towards Lolita, or Victorian fashion, or period pieces, are all very nice. Sweet Lolitas who find out you're a weeb, even if you're currently in a fully on point brand outfit? Full Petunia Dursley Face. Classic Lolita's can be a *bit* more lenient depending on what level of period accuracy they go for, but a Sweet Lolita will look at you like you're a sweaty man in a trench coat inside a Claire's.

So what I learned from binging every episode of LWLN is that this community is full of wonderful, witty and kind people but occasionally you have to stop and stare at a dumpster fire and attempt to put it out. Or people just dropping a bomb on you and then walking away like they didn't traumatize a bunch of women in frilly dresses by making them think the future of lolita was bleak.
