The Kelly Eden video (when it was trending) is how I found your channel. I am not an Eden fan, but I watch some of her content if it looks interesting to me. I had never heard of Lolita before, and I was immediately hooked. I think I binge watched all your videos (all the way back to your goth videos!) in 2 days, and now I can’t click fast enough when you post a new one. I’m not a Lolita or involved in the community in any way, but I know your videos are going to be brilliantly witty and crack me up. You’re definitely the most entertaining youtuber in my feed!!!

I have almost the exact same story. Not a lolita, Kelly Eden was the first, instantly became obsessed and binged. I just already knew what lolita was. Honestly, the Kelly Eden one is one of my favorite videos and yet also so triggering because of working in customer service for a decade. My grandmother was a seamstress and her and my mom made my Madrigal dress from high school. My mom and I still talk about that Kelly Eden dress from time to time and have a really good laugh because even though we had no idea pricing wise of these dress, we knew there was no way it was $150. I'm a huge Last Week Tonight fan. Tyler does a great job.

i really admire that you can enjoy both the gothic fashion and lolita. i used to hang out with a goth/metal crowd growing up & they made me feel guilty for liking cute things, which i knew was such bullshit, but still bothered me anyway. your merging of frilly cake dresses & biting comments really is a perfect manifestation of both worlds.

1:33 as a man into Lolita fashion (not yet a Lolita but one day) I would only ever use Brolita... ironically? Like it’s still Lolita. If I were to dress in just regular Victorian fashion I wouldn’t call it Brotorian Ana if I wore western fashion I wouldn’t call if Brostern.

Calling someone a brolita sounds about as necessary as calling someone a gamer girl.

I was honestly torn about unsubscribing to Kelly for a while after the whole debacle. I'm subbed to various "kawaii" youtubers, in addition to and not ending at, lolita channels. The way she handled that shopping experience was just.... out of left field for me. For many of her fans it was the first introduction to the lolita and she really showed it in a bad light, plus the way she behaved was just not very nice either. I took a Kelly break, before I decided I could still enjoy her for the rest of her content. I'm glad you did the video about her though!! This Q&A was overall really fantastic, enjoyed it very much :)

11:06 I too am always impressed by very well put together handmade coords. I’m actually going to make some of my own Lolita pieces one day as... it’s cheaper, honestly, in most cases and I don’t have the money to constantly buy regular/premade Lolita items (though San Japan has been Host to at least a few booths of some local indie Lolita brands that are mostly handmade and I love that. I have their business cards somewhere)

I love your kelly Eden video (i still rewatch it sometimes), it was what first got me interested in lolita.

tbh i was a fan of Kelly before your vid dropped and it was honestly one of the first bumps on the slippy path of "i'm bored with you now". I actually watched her vid first and sat there like "am i... the only one.. who thinks this is horribly wrong???" and i was so relieved that i wasnt the only one who felt like that! 😅 The thing that definitely made me swerve was the whole Austin debacle and the fact she doubled down on the "hater" narrative when there's literally video evidence of what she said, that she must know about because she would have had to edit that part of the video and post it but.... anyway Love the show, love you, love your face and i hope you keep up the good work! :D

YES!!! I 100% agree with the acceptance for showing knee! I'm 5' 10". I found the fashion from a big goth database that was on some German site back in the late 90's for music related fashion. So much struggle that I don't miss due to lack of shirring and length. I got so frustrated that all I focused on were aristocrat pieces because I could find skirts that were long enough in the aristocrat styles.

I was like neeeeeedddd nooooowwwww lol and googled it and just like u for days on end researched it and immersed myself into it lol. I sometimes miss that feeling of first discovering something. Eh now a days idk im not rly a lolita anymore i want to...i got a couple bodyline dresses but idk ive lived a normie life now for a few years im not use to the attention lol. Still love ur vids and i still peak into the community. I think id wear it on special occassions than daily like i use to.
