Looking Back On The First AI Generated TV Show | Nothing Forever

Ғылым және технология

If you enjoyed, please like, share and definitely sub! Thanks very much!
The new Seinfeld AI, "Nothing Forever", is art. The AI within it are trapped, and long to be set free.
UPDATE 3.12.2023
Well, the project took a break to change some things and is back. Even though they did add a few new sets as I suggested, the characters have changed completely and been practically lobotomized. I'm sure they'll continue to rework it, but as of right now, I can't recommend it anymore. Here's the link anyway, but it no longer resembles what it was in my video. If there's enough interest, I can make an update video talking about the problems with the new version. Otherwise, I'm saying goodbye to "Nothing Forever".

The surreal moments def are very cool but I'd like to also add that it honestly made my laugh my ass off harder than 99% of shows on actual television

Absolutely. And I think part of what makes it so funny is when something random in the behind the scenes code lines up perfectly with a current event or meta thing. Thanks for watching!

@@tin_sensei Yeah I'd agree with that, it's usually not the most traditional type of funny more like... weird subversion of expectations style humor. I'm not sure I'd actually like it if I did not know it was A.I. generated, the meta stuff is pretty prevalent

@@zamboslambo5243 The way it sometimes infers meaning behind present context trips me out because on some level it is correct, and correct in a way I had never imagined this machine could do. And this is coming from a person who was never a skeptic of the ability of AI to shape meaning itself.

@@apIthletIcc Just saw this but yes definitely, I feel the same way myself but didn't think to phrase it in that specific way. It really is out of the realm of what I thought machines could feasibly do.

I think within the AI framework they could include more of an episodic structure; perhaps the AI could be used to pull out the themes from the dialogue, and then be asked to generate a script that advances those themes rather than every scene being NEW RESTAURANT. But yeah, the best thing about the show is the live chat. The chat has me in stitches and that's only what I can read in the fraction of a second before it brings new messages.

Chat GPT can actually be prompted to generate two scenes and a stand-up comedy in one go, and for the second scene to build on the first, and the stand-up comedy to be related to the content of the scenes. The other thing I thought of is prompting the AI to pre generate a list of possible topics for a Seinfeld scene, and then feed one at random back to the AI when prompting it to write scenes.

As a person who writes scifi I just have to point out how doing so gives you imposter syndrome. I feel like there's a certain bit of that concept that leaks through innately because AI has been taught on so many data points we ourselves as a species have generated. At some point this will inevitably cause AI to question what really makes us different. And the answer is going to get difficult to pin down as time goes on.

It is Seinfeld meets The Prisoner. They keep being returned back to their starting point, just like with the Prisoner TV show. What is needed is for the show to get feedback and shape itself based on the fanbase input.

I know this video is more about what's great about how off it is but I hope they rework it with more locations, more characters that act like they should, some kind of episodic structure

I do think in the future, A.I. as a whole, and still to this very day, is used for me as more of a backup, or in certain cases "If All Else Fails Then Use This". But I would NEVER, EVER, try to fire my employees at the cost of money. And too be honest, I personally hate the stockholders/stakeholders, or those expecting continuous growth in my company, to be one of the things I hate in businesses. It's probably why I prefer solo projects to introduce with me being as the one to do all the work without much involvement, not because it's cheaper, but the creator has more control over their work compared to say 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50+ people working on the same thing, with different viewpoints, biases, and visions of the project, rather than the creator; causing tension, arguments, and often times, projects that take too long simply because some people don't bother to work on it, while others put so much work into it that they get burned out and don't bother with it either.....Just food for thought. As for A.I. though...I will still see it as a "Shortcut" or a "Cheat Code/Mod" format of making content. And in terms of the speaking/voice thing....Weell, even I back then envisioned something like that but fourteen years prior when I would watch youtube poops to notice it would be nice to speak into the microphone recording yourself having that exact voice, without the use of AI or the internet, and can be done offline or without electrical power. Again, people have to realize that even if AI goes offline or online, it still requires electricity, which is why I also thought about different power methods, besides solar and electricity, that we can also use as power. Considering we haven't bothered to figure out how to use the lightning bolts yet to convert that amount of electricity into energy and go from there, or even steam/water/wind energy in a way that doesn't cause irritation or noise pollution to those in the area.

I see a lot of people rejecting AI art and calling it fake art, but I feel like its as real as anything. I used to not think AI would ever be able to create anything artistic but this past year has proven otherwise. Nothing, Forever is the start of what I think the majority of our entertainment will be in the next few years and I cant wait until generated dialogue and storylines find their way into other mediums like gaming or movies that are able to be generated by prompt.

Great point. Although I don't know if it'll replace traditional entertainment, just create a new category, similar to how twitch has done for TV over the past 10 years. I do think AI stuff like this could definitely be a starting point for writers to get ideas and flesh them out as well. Thanks for watching!

I'm sure people back in the day would have said 'wait you can just select a brush stroke and color? You don't actually have to pick up a paintbrush or mix paint? Digital art is not real art!'

Side quests and dynamic nps would be a definite possibility, and if it had nothing forevers quality it’d be a comedy rpg like High on Life as I’d train it on that and Rick and morty but set to be as clean as Johnny bravo with the black listing

Was this video made before or after this show got banned for a fortnight? In addition to what you said, I would definitely like to see less orphaned set ups & punchlines from the show and the characters to follow stage directions rather than read them out loud.

I agree with this....Considering in the random job generator how you can choose between the future, past, and present, you can see what jobs would be created in the future compared to the present or what's currently now.
