This is the best video I saw about MAPI. Direct to the point. Your voice and tone are very good for these tutorial videos. Please do.more of them. I hope that your channel become bigger and that you gain access to Paradox market, they are very enthusiastic in using youtubers in their official tutorials. You would be perfect for this role

Very well done video explaining what and how MAPI is, but could use more explaining on how to handle it. Some of the techs that give it a boost are many years out, so in the early game I find myself struggling to keep factories at full hire because my local prices are always so high. But if i increase production to up local prices it just drops the market price so low that other factories lose the demand impact and wages drop and i get workers leaving those places. Seems like there should be a better way to increase market access, like railroads, to better balance it out, but they dont seem to do that.

PDX really dropped the ball on MAPI. I don't see how railways wouldn't have an impact on local price modifiers. Being over the required infrastructure level should also increase MAPI. Automobiles should also be improving MAPI. They need to design a system where it checks infrastructure development from point A -> B to create a rough simulation of goods being transported. That's what should be affecting MAPI, not zeppelins or the stock exchange. Otherwise, almost all of the other changes with this patch have been really good.

Interesting. Doesn't railway indirectly effect it by increasing infrastructure?

@chocolaterain5097 Sadly, no. Infrastructure affects general market access. So if you have 90% market access from negative infrastructure in a state and a MAPI of 85%, that good is ~76.5% available from your market.

Good question. If a river provides +5% MAPI in some states, then surely railway access could contribute similar?

Really glad people are playing the countries who are not great powers. My main gripe with sweden though is a deep rooted problem with Vic3. If you have the population and economy to support large amounts of construction, you can keep yourself afloat. Sweden on the other hand lacks both, and your economy will stagnate before long, you simply cant keep up. Doesn´t help either that construction is ridiculously slow.

if you are having that problem I would just look through the workshop for mods to increase population growth. Seriously the population growth in this game is super low compared to what it is historically and only picks up near the end of the game where it is too late to be useful. In order to fix this problem I think paradox should really rework how population growth works in the early game to make it go at a reasonable rate. Additionally they should also change how migration works. I get to a point sometimes where I have all my industry in one state and there is like 3 million empty jobs with everyone employed while other states have like 20 million unemployed people. They should make it so unemployed people in empty states migrate more to industrial states and dramatically increase the rates with certain laws and railroads (like a million people per year with railroads). For stuff you can do right now to mitigate that without mods or waiting is a few things. Decrease mortality rates by passing labor laws, social security, and healthcare laws (public healthcare is usually the best). You can increase birthrate by increasing quality of life which is most easily done by researching better farming technology and making more clothing, furniture, and groceries (lowering the price of these 3 things and grain as much as possible will have the biggest impact on quality of life). Lastly the most impactful but most random one would be migration waves from Asia. You need to get the law Multiculturalism and have very populated states in your market (like parts of China and Japan). Then you want to make sure those states they are to migrate from are absolutely miserable lowering their quality of life as much as possible and the place where you want them to go raising their quality of life as much as possible. If you complete all these requirements the places with low quality of life might emigrate in mass to your states. Alternatively you could just conquer parts of China and Asia and incorporate them into your empire and then basically move your production base there. It would actually probably be the easiest thing to do.

HOnestly, i don't understand implementing something like this, without giving us almost nothing to handle it. No railroad impact on MAPI is stupid and unrealistic. The MAPI made some countries run extremely hard, if not impossible (Argentina is the best example i have in mind)

Traditionalism is meant to be bad. Agrarianism is the "conservative" but up with times option, traditionalism is just outdated economy and the only ones who still want it are nobles that profit strongly from crown's benefits and rural land. I still would like to have a socialist version of agrarianism (narodniks etc. ya know) and traditionalism being converted in something you can get rid of with a westernisation mechanic like in vic2 but more developed

The laws are all boring linear upgrades from one another. Every country plays the same way and rushes the same laws because some are just better. It's disappointing this is even more so now.

I agree that it's streamlined but they did good at giving effects when you enact certain laws and should do this for all laws, give debuffs to most laws and give more choices with nation specific laws as well. For example China could have the examination system as an alternative to appointed, hereditary and elected bureucrats, with strong buffs but even strong debuffs to give the player an incentive to make him think about what he really wants, China could also have Sun Yat Sen's type republic with 5 divided powers instead of 3 and different effects from parliamentary republics, also directorial republics like switzerland are missing and georgism wich was influent between intellectuals at the time is missing as well, so they have a lot of laws to put in and to weaken the meta laws.
