Why is everyone here saying Satriani played the best solo? First of all, you can’t really compare guitar solos by their greatness. When it's about blues, Satriani is definitely the best among them. He creates spaces between notes and let them breed. It doesn't matter how many notes you can play but the amount of emotion you're able to put in each one of them. I respect Vai and was a fan for many years but got kind of tired of his acrobacies. GG is an outstanding musician but an young one yet, and no one can blame him for that :). Joe today is the best to my ears.

Great performance here! Interesting to read the comments about 'who thought who was best' etc. I personally don't think it's possible to judge. Music is great because it appeals to everyone in a totally different way. For instance I thought Vai's vocals were great. I'm sure most people on here are thinking who gives a shit about vocals???..... well i do!! What I will say about the solo's was each player bought their personality in to each solo! Govan with his immense technical ability and thoughtful soloing! Vai with his incredible ability to sustain a note, his crazy knowledge of the force and his tremolo work always blows me away and lastly Satch! This guy is tone!! I love a player who thinks about tone. Watch you play is of course so important but if you've got great tone you can play pentatonic scales as Satch does here and it sounds beautiful! Oh and well done to the rest of the band who have to stand and not get noticed all night!! :D

Everyone rushed to conclude this guitar performance. Joe & Steve they play G3 characters. If you see and listen to the whole show, G3 Joe & Steve will play it like this. And this is very different from Solo (their songs) they are sold in the market. Instead they are smart, can play 2 characters that are not their original characters at all (the original is on a cassette) Now while Guthrie, the type of ability & lick displayed is exactly the same as the solo (recording tape) sold in the market. Here indeed Guthrie looks aggressive, but Joe & Steve still don't get out of the G3 (Solid) character path. So ... ?? It's up to you to judge what? To be sure, they are all good at playing Guitar.

Get in the fucking bin😂 Even Hendrix - Rock’s all-time biggest Icon - was 100% a “More Is More” person. How many people before Jimi cranked their amps to above and beyond what was the ‘norm’? Even his playing style was over the top compared to his peers at the time. That’s what made him great. Jimi’s best trait was probably his showmanship and that comes from a More Is More attitude. He played as fast and as loud as he could when the mood called for it. If he could play louder and faster he would have but he wasn’t as technically proficient as a lot of the guys around today. He played to the best of his ability. I’m not saying everyone should play fast and freak out all the time, because that’s boring; all I’m saying is if you feel like doing it, then fucking do it! THAT’S what rock is really about. Not this Less Is More horseshit! “Less is more” is a bullshit quote conjured up by people whose playing isn’t getting any better and they are insecure about it. Fact. The bottom line is....If you could do it, you would.

Jimi playing Little Wing live at the Albert Hall is the most beautiful version you will ever hear of this song. Go and listen to it, it's perfect.

guthrie elegant master class,,regular guitar miracle man...
No disrespect for other G3 incarnations, mind you, but, man, GG brings a whole new level of musicianship. Does anyone know where to find a full concert of this G3 tour? It's a pity that we can only enjoy isolated songs, nice as it is, on the other hand, though
gutrie govan the best
They are all great great guitarists, Guthrie is the only one that expresses himself how he truly wants with no tricks... bloody good show man!

Great performance by those guitar gods. Thanks for posting.
G3 is like a living Hall of Fame for the best rock guitarists of our time
they all sound great
steve vai e sua guitarra impecavel
Govan might have had the fastest solo but damn satch can lay that real soulful blues solo down better than the other two by far. His not needing to play every note under the sun is what i love about him.

When Jeff Beck covered this my jaw hit the floor. Space between the notes man. The end. Everyones covers this, but they totally miss the essence of the word feel. Thats what made Jimi so special.

Oh noooo a guitarist played more notes in a bar that you can count on both hands, that means they have no feel no this is just wrong. They took this song and made it their own, this isn't about the original feel. Also all three of these players have more feel in their left testicle than we will ever achieve while playing the instrument
Wow esa si fue yna demostración de verdadero trabajo y talento.
Satch is my favorite. He always is
Joe is the GRAMMAR of music 😘
Joe perfectly sounds great
Awesome
I actually sense a slight sign of envy from Vai towards Govan.. Govan's ability is just stand out
nice trio!!! 👍👍👍
I can watch and hear Guth play all day long
Why is everyone here saying Satriani played the best solo? First of all, you can’t really compare guitar solos by their greatness. And secondly, in my Opinion Guthrie‘s solo was even more incredible than Joe‘s. Guthrie‘s feel, phrasing and the freshness of his melodies is just outstanding. There’s not a lot of space to overcome Guthrie...

3:58 Sounds like something I would do as well as my worse fear, but when Vai does it he makes it legit.

Satriani aka The Master
Satriani had the most tastefull solo.
Voilà bien dix ans que je n'ai pas acheté de CD... mais si ça sort, je prends !
Honestly when i watched this it was just more proof that jimi's original solo cant be beaten
Why everyone is busy comparing each other, they have their own style. Enjoy it !
Good Job !!!
Gosh I love them all but for this particular song, I think Vai's solo did most for me musically. I feel it fit the vibe of the song most by far. But still... wowzers, Guthrie 👍🏼
Satriani lead soul of blues
guitar teacher and student on one stage and then you have guthrie who smiles at what mear mortals have accomplished and says now let me teach you
Satriani, the SRV of our time
Joe kills it here, simply amazing! Guthrie is also not bad... but the guy singing along :X :D
Joe always playing with feeling and respectfull of the subject. vai, always the spokesman of guitaristic shred competition in live show.....beh.... guthrie, modern phrasing and approach, always reinventing himself through a standart. outstanding and intense.
top 3 players in the world. IMO

That guy singing....they shouldve put him on stage,
Fuck!!! Blues really isn't just playing pentatonics, feeling what you're playing is the most important thing, and these daddy's kids who never suffered in life are really far from the blues!!! Saint B.B. King, Saint Albert King and Saint Freddie King, pray for us!!!
I'm pretty sure Joe's head of hair fell on his arms and that's where his power comes from. It's like a reverse Samson.
Seen them all 😃 There all Great players. Then there is The Mighty Buckethead 😎🎸!!!!!!!!
are they ever going to put this into a DVD? what is the status of that?????
Stevai 👍👍👍❤️
Ketika gitaris favorit gw di satukan kerennnn
I have been away from virtuoso too long. Forgotten how much I love it . Times move on new guitarists come into fashion. To me I love additions rather than comparison which shows our differences so we can have more . Love when they all come together at the end.
show top top top !!!!!!
Petrucci on drums!
aaaahh aaahh aahh
I was experiencing a moment of awe, blown away as I was by these masters...and then I saw Joe's forearms. Dude, it's called a razor. You look like the missing link.
Hey~ Joe~
It's basically the Aristocrats feat Joe Satriani and Steve Vai
as much as I love Steve and Joe, Guthrie blew them both together. His melodies and phrasing are out of this world
Guthrie's rhythm section. :) Good idea, Joe. (y)
guthrie superb
