Not to be a fucking creep, but I think I'd give Guthrie a big hug. He's just a very down to earth dude.

Joe had the tastiest leads here in my opinion and I love all of them.

All 3 doing some great licks as usual. All are amazing its a joy to listen to them. Also don't confuse intense focus and concentration with looks of disappointment or being overly serious. All 3 are pushing each other to insane levels of creativity. Condensed in a small period of time they all need to be at the top of their game. To do what they do night after night is astounding. Thanks So Much to the uploader this is fantastic.

Wtf guthrie very refreshing unique technique style....

I wish Guthrie was on the 2007 G3, with Paul Gilbert. I would have loved to see the long solo section on Always With Me, Always With You, when each guy got a play a nice melodic solo. Guthrie would have been so good at that. Paul Gilbert owned it as it was, Petrucci wasn't that good in that solo, and Satch, well, he's Satch, been hearing his same blues licks for a long time.

You have no clue what you are talking about! Guthrie is painfully boring as a player and as a performer, he could play e.g. EVH Beat It solo note for note and still play it like a robot without the feeling and intensity. Jason Bonham (son of John) has said when he hears many people play his Dad's stuff on drums they lack feeling even the those technically very good. I was there too honestly when Satriani and Vai played my buttocks would literally quiver like jelly at times but when Govan played I never felt like that once. Govan is technically exceptional though, no question on that.

It is subjective! Can Guthrie play as fast as Chris Impellitteri or Michael Angelo Batio? Haven't heard him do so. That is just speed. Guthrie is PAINFULLY BORING certainly as a performer, and as a player though no question he is technically great.

I would love to show you my personal collection of every guthrie solo and song he played, maybe you can find something good to your ears, not trying to convince you. Satriani was just randomly tapping (even missing the first slide with his right-hand middle finger, Guthrie knew exactly what he was doing).

Don't understand some people have to judge one player against another. All 3 are amazing but all have different tones and techniques. Just enjoy the music and learn from all of them !!!

RPG 808 So bad when you talk shit on a guitar legend whom you don't even follow. Me as a guitarist I learned so many stuff from these three and many others and definately Guthrie is the most humble guitar player and surely not a wannabe. Just enjoy the fuckin music or go watch a Justin Bieber concert.
