Life of a Woodsman - Scouting For Fur and Food

Ойын-сауық

My food supply is starting to dwindle and if I plan to keep myself full throughout the remainder of this trip I'm going to need to begin harvesting more food off of the landscape. Today I'm taking a long hike to scout for potential food sources. I'm hoping to find some good places where I can begin trapping and some new areas to hunt as well.
Thank you to everyone who watches!

I wish i could too. It really just comes down to the amount of time it takes to film and edit all the video. Maybe one day I'll figure out a system that will allow me to upload full-length videos more frequently. Until then I appreciate your continued support! Happy trails.

Putting a lot of your years of bushcraft experience into this series sir. Really enjoying the details being provided to make and keep a camp working and comfortable. As well as harvesting the area for food. Have said it before, pretty sure you are outside the delivery range of Door Dash, or the nearest pizza or burger joint!😂👍

Definitely found some viable locations, should have some good luck soon. Self sufficiency may be your only alternative unless you leave to re-supply which I suspect is not in your plans. Thanks for the update. See you soon.

Would you consider making a video of how you sharpen your knives and hatchet ? And what firearm(s) do you hunt with . And carry for self defense against 2&4 legged predators? Thanks for the awesome videos. Just found you yesterday. Been binge watching lol . GOD bless ! 🙏💕

Perhaps in the future I will show my methods on sharpening. Although I really don't do anything special. Sharpen and strop, that's about it. The rifle I'm carrying is a Chiappa Little Badger .22 Magnum. It works excellent for small game hunting. I've never had any issues with wildlife but I'm hoping this little rifle and my bear spray would be enough to deter any dangerous animals. Thank you for your support. God bless and happy trails!

Irish Setter Elk Tracker boots. They are quite comfy and work well in these mild fall temperatures. In my own opinion they aren't worth the price tag. Once the temperatures get below zero they don't offer enough insulation to keep my feet warm and they do not have a removeable liner which makes them difficult to air/dry out. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

They clearly have teeth marks running across the face of the cut…. With bigger trees they chew from all sides but smaller ones just get gnawed off on an angle… rather hazardous to ATV tires, ask me how I know 🙄
