Cooking Bannock, Chicken, and Bacon Over a Campfire
Ойын-сауық
It feels great to be back in the woods with hatchet and saw in hand.
I spend the day hiking and scouting new areas. Around midday I decide to make a small camp and have myself a pleasant lunch.
I use my hatchet and saw to make a quick and easy table which is very handy to have around camp. After getting a proper cooking fire built I cook up a tasty lunch consisting of bannock, chicken, and bacon.
Bannock recipe:
1 cup of flour
1/2 tablespoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of cold water

Been saying this all along about cleaning pans! I have all-clad, and Cuisinart steel pans in the house.. I’ve seared steaks that have crusted onto the pan something fierce. No worries! Prepare some hot water at the faucet, use a paper towel to get rid of the extra grease first, then very slowly add a little bit of hot water to the pan, from outer edge, not the center! It’ll steam up, but that’s OK. After stop steaming, cover the bottom with a quarter inch or more of water, put it back on the burner. 30 seconds. Use a spatula like you did and simply scrape off all the crusties. I do it when I go camping too. Works like a charm every time. Love your videos man. Lord bless.
Man, this is way better than any ASMR vid

I'love that table❤😂😂😂
This man is a true Canadian and the definition or an “outdoors” man Props to you for doing this
I started boiling water to clean dishes while camping after seeing you do it a while back. Makes things so much easier!
My wife and i lay in bed and watch these videos at night and always end up hungry. This content is so satisfying and a pleasure to watch.
I watched this on an empty stomach and now I'm starving.
The bannock looks delicious!
I just watched this in my kitchen while eating a pb&j. I've never felt so lame.

I'm impressed . nice bannock. Great video. More young people should be doing this.
Looked like a great lunch and a nice day out. So glad to see a video again of you building fires, cooking and being in the woods.
There’s always something you’ve never seen before last. The way you made that table was awesome I’ve never seen that before!
I really enjoyed your trapping videos this winter. But I like these videos of you out in the bush making things and cooking. Thanks for sharing
The ASMR in this is - whether intentional or not, was absolutely amazing!
Nice burger. The cornerstone of every nutritious breakfast.
Glad to see you back out there brother.
Oh my gosh - that bacon/chicken in the bannock looks delicious...!
This is really fun and calming. Hope to experience it one day
Very nice relaxing video to watch on a lazy Sunday morning. Goes great with breakfast.
Did you bring enough for the whole class, because now I want some
Another excellent video bud really enjoyed it very much 👍👍
I love the simplicity of your camps, meals, and gear... no synthetics, no military crap, no modern non-sense... what worked two hundred years ago, still works today, and you demonstrate that in every video. Thank you for making these, and for showing how to clean the dishes afterward... ya don't see that very often... would be nice in future videos if you'd touch on personal hygiene and field laundry on extended trips. I think these topics, as important as they are, get left out of the popular literature because they are not so glamorous...
Good appetite my fiend. A very good recipe for a hiking day. Great! Very big hug for you my friend.
Bannock is such a great, easy camp food. Your recipe is the same as the Northern Scavenger guys. W/that, you can also add other things you have on hand - like raisins, nuts, dried fruit, honey, etc. I'll have to try your way as well. I tend to make mine a bit thicker and cover it...very versatile recipe...
Awesome! Good to see you out again. Sorry for being late to the party, I did not receive any notification you had put anything new out. Bannock and pemmican are on my to-do list this year. Plus Irish oat cakes and soda bread. I have played with all of them at home, but I want to make my food on site rather than carry it ready made this year as much as I can.
Bushcraft Ryley is back!

Thanks for the feedback! Happy trails.
Great video!Food looked good! I would have probably had to take a nap!
I was looking for a bannock recipe and this one looks great. Much better than the other one I saw that (annoyingly) said 5 minute bannock, but then proceeded to use a pre-packaged mix...and no recipe! Love the style here, right up my alley. Keep up the good work!
Great videos! Inspires me to increase my bushcraft skills.
I have the same pans and I too just boil water to clean them, but, I use a folded over spruce branch as a scrubber to get the stuck on food loose.
Wow. You won't have to eat for a week after that.. lol.. food looks amazing.. great job. Thanks for sharing..
Gotta love a guy who uses bacon in every meal.
Very nice
