We were now the GLBT Rights Community/Movement. That's right y'all the was first until entitled twits like her put the L first for "Progress and Equality." It's interesting you say that as (for context only) I am ace. I remember years back a friend who identified as queer state I was, by default, queer for being ace and part of the LGBT+ automatically (this friend was very inclusive and warm, as you can gather.) I had never thought of myself as queer (I honestly had not thought much on it, but I could see how either way of looking at it could make sense.) Anyway, did some digging and learned there was a LOT of infighting in the LGBT+ While there are many warm and welcoming people associated with it, I came across many who also did not want certain orientations to join (many spoke about people who could mask as straight and said that they would not be subjected to the same degree of bullying etc. and therefore "shouldn't quality" (I personally don't care...it's more the level of anger some people display towards others that also don't fit the typical mould.) Later, in my 20s, I was looking at an ace page out of curiosity (forum for people who identify as asexual) and I didn't see any squabbling, really, ever on the AVEN sites. Mostly a lot of talking about fictional characters who they thought could be ace, and more talk about their interests in general, and meet up board game groups and such. It had a very different feel. I remember reading a couple posts where some new members said they had tried to join an LGBT chat but they felt harassed or "pushed out" and so left. A couple used a term similar to your sister....mafia, or gang, or something. So yeah, I think there is a lot of infighting. I have heard that from others.

@@kvoncomedy I liked the joke, laughed pretty hard (also at the asexual one, because that's my orientation). But I do think people over react, when it come to the whole they/them thing. Like, wanting to make people call you by made up pronouns like xey/xer or what have you is silly and illogical, I agree. But you can actually refer to a single individual by they/them and its grammatical correct, even if said usage isn't the most common so people tend to forget it already existed before the whole gender debate became more prevalent.

Dude there's tons of grammar rules the average person doesn't have the slightest clue about, because you don't need to know. Doesn't mean the thing in question isn't still a valid and correct usage. Like with all kinds of things, if your knowledge in a particular field isn't extensive, you shouldn't be arguing so vehemently. And when someone does point out something you thought about the thing is actually incorrect, you should learn the lesson and move on, instead of insisting that you're in the right, when the evidence is absolutely against you. And this doesn't just concern the pronoun and grammar thing alone anymore. People just need to let people be people, man.

@@BlockDefender the “people” own everything together. Meaning you have no personal property or possessions. All of the nonproductive humans enjoy the fruits or your labor. Government has a perceived lack of control when in reality it’s the government who owns everything. Day one of communism seems great on paper. Day two to death, which is usually pretty quick, is hell on earth as every citizen is now equally poor.

We need more of this to bring back common sense back to our country.

Comedy has always been offensive. Britain nearly banned the masterpiece that is The Life of Brian - why because it offended religious sensibilities. George Carlin made a career out of offending the religious types by making fun of the absurdities of religion. Don't let people tell you offense is something new, its just the focus and subjects have shifted.

Carlin kept going, Chapelle will do the same, but can't help but wonder what happens to the "little guys" that do not have the staying power of Chapelle.

If they even perceive that you've "disrespected" them, they'll try to make sure you get "punished" and canceled and have your entire world flipped upside down and encourage harassment towards you.
