I just got the dual remote bypass kit for my 05 6.6 2500 standard cab. I attached it to the heat shield under my cab right behind the original filter mounting point. I hope it holds. The one thing I wish is that Amsoil would put suggested mounting points or provide a different mounting bracket depending on what vehicle you are getting it for(there are hardly if any videos about where to mount this stuff anywhere). Would save alot of headaches hahaha. Great video and go Amsoil!

I have a 2016 3500 6.7, how much would it cost to get the same bypass oil filter kit in your video?

Baldwin b7379 will fit and has Napa and O’Reilly equiv. Rated at 9 microns. So will ford 6.7 filters but those are 20 microns.

Would the universal bypass filter setup be beneficial or practical for a 2016 Ford Focus? Protection wise. Or would it not be worth it?

It would help if it's a Ecoboost due to the oil sludging problem (PCV vapors) - the extra filtering slows down the effects with our oil not to mention the added sump for longer detergent life.. That said - it would be a difficult add due to limited space.

I have a 2008 6.6LMM Duramax. I feel like this is insanely worth it. I see multiple people who make mounting brackets for the frame for this truck so I’m not really worried about anything. Do you think it’s worth it or is it just better to run regular filters.

Are there any plans on a bypass kit for the LM2 and LZO Duramax ?

Amsoil by pass seems worth it but where does the supply line connect to. I'm confused

Well it depends on the vehicle. The dual of course replaces the oil filter location but the single you need to find a positive pressure source. Generally we "T" off of the oil pressure sending unit but others on big trucks have a oil galley port accessible via plug. - On the Dodge 5.9 there's a tap above the oil filter which makes it super easy.. Every vehicle is different.. Newer ones unfortunately are next to impossible but vintage vehicles are excellent!

The BMK-23 Universal Remote would be the easiest install. That's remoting the full flow and also has the bypass together. The big question is where to mount it, So you would look for an area that is approximately 5"x9"X9". Some trucks you can fit that under the hood, infront of the radiator, or most on the frame underneath. You get 12 feet of hose to work with so measure from your existing filter to that area you can mount it.

Can you tell me why AMSoil redesigned their oil filter with a dome end bypass and leaf spring? The threaded end or upfront bypass with a coil spring seems to be a much more superior design. Was it costing to much to manufacture? Now they are just like every other average JOE oil filter except they are expensive. If you want to charge a premium I need to get a premium like no other available product.

Have you seen the new versions? They are completely different. But there are over 80 different filters and each one is not the same back then even. Spring's vary with the use but the new ones use a totally new module for regulating the pressure, the can's are heavier, threaded area strengthened and reinforced with a new style of stamping. A new grip paint is added and the efficiency has been increased. AMSOIL's whole point toward filters are to continue to modify and advance as the technology beciomes available. because they are independent they actually buy from several companies (the best of each filter company then have another assemble them). But those old videos someone made 10 years ago would have to cut open 12 different amsoil filters to see they are all different as they are made up per the use case. A subaru has different requirements than a old V8 Ford. And some engines do part of the bypass regulation relying on the filter bypass only as secondary.

@@Syntheticwarehouse so I did go to Amsoil webpage and I have a question. Why are there Wix oil filters being sold there along with Amsoil? The Wix seem to be much cheaper. Are they just as good or good enough or what is the story? So does that mean Amsoil endorses using a Wix filter with Amsoil products? Just more questions. Sorry.

How come Amsoil does not make a vehicle specific for the Ram 2500.

Does byoass increase oil presdure or work load on oil pump?

A I’d amsoil fan here. But my dealer said if there is an problem with the Cummins engine and you have a bypass kit. Warranty will be voided. Magnesson moss act aside, don’t do it.

@carybannon5821 - That would be illegal and in violation of the federal Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. A warranty provides consumers specific rights and can't just be voided at the drop of a hat. Read up on the Magnuson Moss Warranty act.

Bro amsoil should come out with a filter that has 10% of the filter that does 2 microns.. instead of this system..

Centrifugal spinners will be way superior.

Don't run the remote/bypass kit on a newer F150, it has just enough distance with even the shortest hose length to cause timing chain tensioner to momentarily starve for oil. Kiss your warranty goodbye.

I prefer to use the stock full flow filter location as it was designed by ford, and plumb in a separate system for the bypass filter
