Rejuvinating Older Cars using Amsoil Bypass Filter Kits

That sludge is composed mostly of paraffin. The vehicle was used with a paraffin oil, wasn't changed nearly often enough. Something like Quaker State of that era was a high paraffin oil. A couple of oil changes using mineral-based oil with a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil would have cleaned it up quite quickly. But it's good to see that Amsoil works as well.

Can you install a oil bypass on a older 98 Ford Ranger with easy mounting

Is it possible to install the kit upside down? the turbocharger is downstream past the oil filter, making the oil filter the cooling reservoir of the turbo once the engine is turned off.

That opening moment seen by a Jeep enthusiast realizing that this guy has no idea that the Jeep Cherokee existed prior to the AMC Eagle and is just another marketing salesman. Especially when he see's the sales vehicle at time mark 02:42 and attempts to keep a straight face. Keeping in mind that he's appreciative that the previous owners took care of the 5.2 Dodge Magnum powered '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited which has about 293,000+ miles on it that's not bleeding and not consuming a terrible amount any oil as of yet. Nor dependent on a shop to do the various maintenance things that vehicles need over time. Yet with humor actually does amazingly watches the entire video somehow, provides a reply out of humor. Then proceeds to installing new mirrors on a '89 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer powered by the "Renault's François Castaing developed the drivetrain".

With hard"molasses stuff" floating around the motor and thick oil, that motor should have been pulled apart and re-ringed, and respecced (main bearings etc.). That's how you fix it. What you are suggesting is just a Bandaid until it's rebuilt. I like AMSOIL. I alsoreally like that filter bypass unit, but saying an oil will rejuvenate a motor, well, that's a bit much.

I replaced the intake manifold on my 262... Basically a 350 with two cylinders cut off The rods and walls was caked with crap... I was able to manually dig out chumks of deposits. Same as he did with chemicals... He chemically cleaned the engine, lifters start working better, varnish in cylinders is gone, drag ..gone... Suggest you study amsoil lab reports on youtube. Its not an engine rebuild.. But its the next best thing.

put it on any car new or old, best if on a new car for max benefit but something like this will help any car regardless of age. Unless the engine is completely worn out, but at that point it would probably be pretty obvious that the engine is messed up. Think about it, this will extend oil change intervals so you save money on oil changes and it reduces wear. Great idea

I think I'll rig up a drip line over my rocker arms and use the 2u filter to help keep them more cool [and clean]. I hadn't heard of an engine with blow by issues gettting solved like this before - if ring lands were so gunked up as to make the rings stick and hang, wear has got to be uneven and a teardown is in order anyway to see what shape the pistons/cylinders are in and the rings have probably gone egg shaped. Assuming his engine had hydraulic lifters, what he did might be a little more convenient in cleaning those up - that job isn't too hard to do, but it can be annoying as the better part of a day gets burned.

bypass sounds like it robs oil from where it should be. your oil pump will only pump so much ,now you and more places to go instead of thru the motor where it should be ,so just change it more often an when it's hot so it gets the junk out while it's suspended in the oil not laying in the pan.

very true... without mechanical overhaul there is no cure in a bottle or bolting on some gizmo... however if a person wanted to stop oil blowby from dumping back into the intake you could just make a really simple oil catch can... lol my grandma has an old clapped out tempo and it was soaking air filters in oil every couple thousand miles but it still runs strong. I just took a mason jar and put some fittings in the lid with some pvc pipe that runs into the jar with an elbow that goes to a larger diameter and put some wire wool inside that hole to catch the oil droplets before it is sucked into the intake. Now she has had the same air filter for years (she doesnt drive much)

I don't agree. Why? Because an engine could be running poor with some sludge buildup, but a good motor flush will dissolve most of that gunk and running better quality synthetic oils will break down alot of buildup inside the engines, but doing that in conjunction with better filtration will help capture all that junk and keep it from circulating around into all the bearings and oil passages. I like the idea, and for only a few bucks and some labor, you could potentially save yourself the trouble of a complete engine rebuild as some of these other guys are suggesting. If you like doing things the hard way, ok, go ahead rebuild your engine for the heck of it. I'm going to install a bypass filter and give it a go with better quality oils.

Rejuvenate - make something look or feel younger, fresher, or more lively. Now that we know what that means, yes you can rejuvenate an engine with something. With removing engine gunk and build up (as another commenter said) You assumed rejuvenate meant replacing the metal and other parts that have slowly worn away. Which I agree, you cannot replace what is no longer there but again, rejuvenation, like the video said, is absolutely achievable.
