Leaving a Girlfriend High and Dry

Ойын-сауық

The plaintiff is suing her ex-boyfriend because she claims as they were breaking up, he up and moved out in the middle of their lease. The plaintiff was left with all the rent and fees as a result. The defendant argues that he told the plaintiff he was moving out and told her she could leave or stay in the apartment.

@@mqpar5.795 You may certainly be correct in how it could go down in an actual court of law. This is not one. I've been to a lot of court and judges have a lot of discretion. I agree that I would have preferred that the judge should have went into a little deeper into telling that girl what serious kind of trouble she could have got into. If she had signed his name and he had NOT run off and left her with those 1000's of dollars in rent, ect, then she probably would have thrown it out. She also yelled very loud at her, when the girl didn't answer. To say the judge is biased, when I am sure there are 100's if not 1000's of videos, where the pretty girl loses. I can appreciate that the judge did not let that guy get away with guy stealing from her. I think you and others underestimate how unlikable and even repulsive he was to that judge.

She could have easily said yes because she didn't have anything to lose. She was 18 when she moved in with him. Why? I've been around abused people and I saw that in her eyes. I'll bet he yelled at her often to win every argument, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that her parents yelled at her also. He wouldn't help figure out getting out the lease and just left everything up to her despite him being the one to leave. She didn't want it to hurt her credit and he clearly didn't care. She couldn't get ahold of him because he blocked her. He is a total man child and like I said with the head nodding he clearly agreed with the judge that is how he is.

I feel like this would have went differently with "other" litigants but, this is how justice should actually work. The Defendant tried to leave the Plaintiff with those bills & through his actions, he was well versed. I would say the forgery & his illegal evasion the contractual obligations washed each other out & placed the attention back on the issue. The amount due from abandoning the lease.

At least he was honest, that he just dealt with it by walking away and would deal with the consequences. That's a far cry from taking it into your own hands and forging someone's signature, and then continually lying about it in court. Owning your bad actions versus trying to get away with them when caught says all that anyone needs to know about the two of them.

I think she exhibited in her defense and rationalizations why the guy got fed up and bolted. If you agree he was honest, she must be looked at as being dishonest. My guess is she was ready to promote her back up guy to 1st string and needed to piss off her current guy to move him out. She wanted $5K from him, but fell short by $1.9K. By her dishonesty, she should have lost 100%, but we know how things tend to go...

This is why living together in leu of marriage, doesn't work. You can just leave if you're not happy instead of trying to work things out. But people want to playhouse until they don't. It's easy to leave rather than get a divorce, but emotionally you experience all the same things that go with a marriage.

Because BOTH their names were on the lease they are both legally responsible. However, I have seen were two people just walk away from the lease. The apartment owners will lease it out to someone else and then put a lease report on your credit report. This basically will prevent you from leasing another apartment anywhere as most will do a credit check and see you didn't pay you lease obligation. After 7 years that will go away. So you need to get into another lease situation like ASAP after leaving or wait 7 years before renting again. The dude had a DAUGHTER, and he had to PROTECT his daughter from the Narcissist girlfriend, and did the right thing in leaving. I understand why he chose NOT to contact the apartment, BUT, I think he could have negotiated a better deal for himself and his daughter by explaining the situation to them and getting himself OFF the lease ASAP! He may have ended up paying $1500 or less. In this case was hit with $3,500 or half of the 3 months. Which still was a WIN for him over paying 10K as his ex wanted. I also believe it is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE to FORGE someone's signature on a legal document. I believe she needs to be prosecuted as an example for doing this. Not sure if this is a CRIMINAL case the DA needs to file or if it can be a CIVIL case with an award. The judge in this case just overlooked the PENALTY on that. She could have REDUCED his $3500 judgement by HALF as a PENALTY against her. Women do this all the time. My ex FORGED my signature on a negotiable instrument and tried to cash a CHECK that was in my name. Fortunately the BANK caught it and refused to honor it. I could have asked the DA to prosecute the FORGERY. But instead, took my money and got the hell out of dodge as fast as I could. And a final note, her ARMS are full of FAT and are NOT muscle bound. You can see her overall framework, she is OVERWEIGHTR, has tattoos, and honestly is NOT very attractive. This and her destructive attitude are a dangerous narcisistic attitude of todays modern western woman. The man got a WIN on this and he is so much better off getting out from under for just $3500. His DAUGHTER is also VERY BLESSED that her Father saved her from being influenced by this crazy ex. FYI: They BOTH were PAID to appear on this show, and therefore neither LOST anything as the money they received MORE than covered the cost of the judgement. I would not be surprised if the plaintiff ex girlfriend was paid 15K for her appearance and still made out, lol. And the dude probably was paid the same as well, so no loss on either side.

Oh heck no, the woman should sew the loser ex for emotional damages! He literally admitted to all his wrong doings, and in such a cocky way. He was probably used to putting his responsibilities on someone else and running away from situations instead of acting like a man. What a sleaze. He shouldn’t be able to walk of with just how much he legally owned for the lease he willingly signed. He should be held accountable for intentionally putting such financial strain on a young woman, probably did it on purpose too trying to ruin her credit score. Also, an older man with a daughter, pursing an 18 year old, creepy! This girl probably has some ptsd to deal with. The good thing is that the losers face is on tv now, him admitting that he just runs from responsibility, so hopefully no woman will ever want that male child.
