With the pressure of the leading role in a world premiere musical and the entire nation watching her, as well as in light of MeToo, this obviously means so much to Lea and she'll be forever grateful to Simon that he kept his promise. Simon's voice was so calm and soothing while Lea's was sweet and innocent. Nothing beats the original.

They are both drop dead gorgeous, perfect chemistry and passionate performance! it shows that they gave it all!

i just wished i was born earlier and had the opportunity to watch this timeless classic

Lea was 19 here and Simon was 29, but above all things their performance was amazing!👏👏👏💜

Even on Simon Bowman's official website he said there were people asking if the love is real.

Now i know why Lea Salonga won the Olivier Award and Tony Awards! This is one of the sexiest and romantic duets i have ever seen and heard! She deserved the awards at such a young age! I love Simon Bowman too. Lea and him both became successful in their musical and theatre careers!

I'm not sure that's true. There was an interview where Lea talked about losing her voice and the producers sending her to doctors and voice teachers to help her. And then she won the Laurence Olivier Award. MISS SAIGON began performances in Sept 1989 and she won the Olivier in April 1990. No idea when this special performance was filmed at the London Palladium, but it aired in December 1990.

I cannot help but watch this time and time again today. I realized how Simon and Lea looked so natural in this scene as if they truly were in love. I have also watched her play this song opposite Will Chase but it is not the same. I could really feel there was a chemistry, a connection at those moment between these two artists or they were just so convincing as actors. I watched them sing this song again here in the Philippines and Simon looked at Lea with the same tenderness and love. This scene could never be replicated by them and it truly made Miss Saigon one of the best shows and Lea and Simon truly great artists.
