LAFD RV Fire: Task Force 66 (Chesterfield Square)

Los Angeles Fire Department Engine 66 was initially dispatched alone to an auto fire at the intersection of Gage Ave. x Gramercy Ave. just before 13:30 hours.
E66 arrived on scene of a full involved RV exposing a one-story metal clad commercial building and requested a structure fire assignment.
Units assigned: Battalion 13, Battalion 18, Task Force 66, Light Force 26 (canceled), Truck 33, Engine 46, Engine 57, Engine 233, Squad 21, Rescue 66, Rescue 266, & Rescue 866.
E66 was fire attack on the RV, LF66 was tasked with forcible entry into the commercial building, then went to the roof shortly after (no cuts made), and BC13 was “Gage IC”. The incident was handled with TF66, RA66, & RA266.
There was no extension into the commercial building, no one was said to be inside the RV. No injuries, unknown cause.

Thank you for being Johnny on the spot. Being there from beginning. YES extension to structure a bad thing, especially when you don't know the Haz-Mat inside. Probably lots of Flammable material, by the looks of walls, possible a wrecking yard. Lots of fuel on other side of wall.

You're completely wrong. He was not prepared, no gloves, no SCBA, no safety. It's a fucking RV and it's completely destroyed, there was no chance of saving it in those precious 10 seconds it took for the other firefighter to don their SCBA. Also he had a saw, he had a job to do. But I guess freelancing is his priority. That fighter did as trained, get the nozzle to the fire, flake it out. Put on your mask and get on air, then attack. You don't don your SCBA until ready, air is precious. Everyone knows a RV is filled with shit that will kill you over long term. But I guess cancer and respiratory is not a concern for some firefighters, saving a completely destroyed RV is more important.

The power line cables caught fire because it had some sort of rubber lining over the wires. It was the rubber/plastic burning. Cool to see though….

I don't get why they had to gain access to that business in the yard and inside, the fire was outside of the fence, and if they had to check to make sure there wasn't any fires inside the fence, then all they had to do was get on the roof and look, or put a ladder up to the fence and look over!
