KTM 990 Carburettor Conversion - Project 990 Rally - Episode 1

This conversion is something I've been wanting to do for quite some time. Not a lover of EFI. Being fortunate to own and ride both 990 and 950 I've always preferred the 950. Not everyone will agree with this work but thats fine. It fulfils my needs for my type of riding.
Video includes the build, explains the parts needed and includes a section on how to check the valve clearances.

    Thank you for this video!!! I have a 10 990 adv and have been very happy and satisfied with her... I don't have the big throttle issues most people complain about. But, but... after going through forums and such, it makes me want to buy a 950 and another 990 and convert it to carbs... me thinking, If I have been so very happy with what I have, if a 950 and a carb converted 990 IS that much snappier=happier, makes me want to try it out...

    I have a 990 08 m0del and absolutely agree with the carburettor being easier to ride . Instant power , far better torque .

    Awesome video, been thinking about this conversion for a while. So good to see how it's turned out. Trying to source the parts for me is tricky though as I'm in NZ. Would you know anyone with parts to sell? Cheers.

    Love this Chris, great detail shared thank you. I've a 990, I agree with what you said about the fuel pump and I happen to have a Facet sitting here from my old Africa Twin. If I was to do the fuel pump alone do you think it could be done without changing the injectors? And secondly if I was to do the injectors also, would the 990 loom HAVE to be swapped? Thanks!

    But cant you tune the EFI and put the 950 cams ln 990?

    Outstanding work but i think the conversion has voided street legality because of the altered emission control. I wonder if there will be problems at the next MOT!

    So it means 950 is better than 990?
