And here I am needing my ankles and wrists exposed because otherwise I go nuts. How wonderful it is to make your own garments, isn't it? You can adjust everything to your very individual preferences. Your blanket project is just lovely, I'd love to have a pattern for it! No pressure, though. You are a true inspiration, thank you for your hard work, both as a designer AND as a content creator, but especially as someone bringinig attention to mental health. Sandnes Merinoull is a dream to work with! I love it for my childrens' garments. It is extremely reliable, doesn't grow AND barely pills. The color palette is amazing and the price point is great. Thank you for this vlog!

Isn't it wonderful to make our own garments?! I love getting to customize them so that they fit all my quirky sensory needs, and then I can adjust them in ways I can't with store bought pieces! I knit primarily summer tops, because my arms need to be free but I've also been able to find a bamboo fibre that doesn't trigger skin issues on my arms. I just find so much delight and freedom in making garments, rather than feeling restricted when shopping in a store!❤❤

I loved watching this vlog so much Laura and I just wanted to say (hopefully without adding any more pressure, so please just take it as a compliment if anything) that I would LOVE to remake this blanket pattern that you are creating for your daughter right now ❤️ I’ve been looking for a blanket pattern for mini skeins and scarps because I love the idea of a handmade quilt but don’t have a sewing machine or the required skills yet- thought I found the perfect pattern, bis this one looks even better. So if you’re ever thinking about writing up a pattern for this, I’d be the first to buy it 😇🤭 also thank you for sharing with us and being so vulnerable and open about your journey with your mental health/brain. It’s hard but I‘m sure it’s all worth it x1000 🤗 i’m fact I know, therapy can be amazing!

I completely agree. I rarely make blankets because I get bored and stressed trying to slog through them to the end. I feel like this could hold my interest! Added to that it’s just stunning. ❤❤

As I am watching your video I am working on the Purl Soho Prism Blanket. I totally agree the triangles are so big I get bored and so I'm trying to make myself finish a triangle before I lay it down. Not always happening. I too don't really like the joining of each triangle. I would love a pattern for the way you are making. I love doing short rows. I love seeing progress faster. Thank you, glad I found your Vlog

I love the “kid-isms” like Hot Donald’s! I hope you write them down to remember later! My oldest called waffles “buffalos” for the longest time (and entirely unknown reason) and my youngest calls a coffee shop we have in Canada (Tim Horton’s) “Timportant” - learning early how important coffee is 😂

Firstly, thank you for showing your adorable children, they are so cute and lovely! I love seeing them, Penny is so cute :) Secondly, thank you for sharing about your mental status, knew that you were stressed with test knitting (from previous episodes) but I had no idea you had panic and anxiety issue. But everybody does in life, right? I think seeing a therapist is a great idea. I used to several years ago but I can't afford the time with my full-time job (and the money, it's not insured in my country). Still I think I could seek for free sessions from the local government. It's Children's day holiday in my country so another bank holiday after May Day, yay! Have a lovely spring day :) Don't get stressed, your designs are lovely and they will definitely see the light of the day in the world!

What a lovely vlog Laura! Love to see it :) Regarding your test knitting experience - is it something you can have someone else handle? I think I speak for many and we would love to have more of your designs in the world to knit! If the test knit is something that is holding you back, maybe it's time to find someone who would handle that part of the process for you, so you could focus on the parts which you truly do enjoy. Just an idea for thought :) I'm thinking about PetiteKnit who has a whole team who probably handles a lot of those parts of the process for her too ;)

Good grief! The wheels on the bus song on the way to the party was beyond precious!! How do you try n make her mind u when she’s being so adorable lol?!? Sudden (schedule, etc) changes bring out my “RBF” (resting b@tch face” and take my emotional engagement from “present” to zero and flat in no time at all. Inside I know I’m being ridiculous, but it is what happens.

Hi Laura, thanks for another lovely vlog episode! I have an idea that might help you out with the sleeve length on the Sibling Sweater -- if certain sizes need an odd number of stripes, why not start at the shoulder with the same colour the cuff will be? That way you can add a single stripe if needed for length. Also, I see you're listening to Throne of Glass! Hope you're enjoying it!

I love your triangles blanket, love the colors too! It's so springy and cheerful. I just finished a sweater for myself and I'm not happy with the fit. I've never been happy with the fit of anything I've knitted for myself, which isn't much. I'm usually knitting gifts. Any tips on getting things to fit properly? For this sweater I think the yarn grew lengthwise during blocking so the body and sleeves are too long. It's 100% alpaca, which is amazingly soft, but I couldn't wait to get back into my cotton t-shirt. Now I"m rethinking all my yarn choices especially for things against my skin. So in the meantime I'm knitting dishcloths & a produce bag. They're easy, and no fit required. I love the colors of this super cheap 100% cotton yarn , but it's so stiff it makes my arms and hands really tired. It's the Lily Sugar & Cream , and Peaches & Cream yarns. Does anyone have suggestions for this issue?
