I applaud your frankness around mental health. I hope that this issue becomes a standard part of our conversations. Life is hard, work is hard, family is hard, facing our inner selves is hard. I salute you. You are an inspiration. Thank you so much. I just love watching you working in your head and bringing us along.

Love this style of podcast Laura! It's refreshing to see the actual progress (or not 😏) on wips and not just "I cast this on" in one podcast then "I've finished this!" in the next. The inner workings of a creative mind are intriguing to have opened!

I really like it when you tell people that if this video, or any other content, is making you feel bad -- turn it off! That is such an important reminder. When watching podcasts/vlogs, I always keep in mind that it is *curated* content, so I have (so far, anyway) been able to avoid making comparisons to my life or my skills or whatever. But if I lose sight of that and start feeling bad about myself because of what I'm watching, I hope I remember your words!

I love this new format Laura -- I feel like it hits the high notes of both vlogging and podcasts (though I will always love the deep dive of a podcast). I'm glad you're feeling better and doing what you need to do to feel even better. I whole-heartedly support your goal of knitting less as I know this year will be a less knit-heavy year for me too because of our wedding in the fall. Cheers to finding more joy in less knitting in 2023!

I love pascuali. You pronounced that fine. They are such an awesome company and team. When I still had my shop I met them when they were a startup. Their ethics and goals are brilliant and they work so hard for eco and fair yarn production. I dyed all my yarns on their bases. It's just a great quality they stand for. So enjoy this yarn and hopefully more of theirs in your future. Your episode was wonderful as usual. I love your fresh, unique way of showing us your passion and love for knitting. Many greetings from Germany!

Hi Laura, thank you for being so honest! Last year I was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, I’m now 25 and still need to figure a lot out. Which means better and less better days. You should know that your videos always put a smile on my face 😁 No matter how hard things seem sometimes, do remember that there will always come a moment in which you will feel better! Thanks for your positivity!

Laura, this is a wonderful vlog! I love this style of video, its a nice change from the traditional podcast and you seem to really shine with your vlogs. And I am obsessed with that striped sweater you knit for P. I used similar colors for my Twists and Turns shawl and I am equally obsessed with rust and pale pink together... so now I am going to have to make a striped sweater for myself in the same colors. 😂 Take care!

I love that you’re talking about your mental health so openly. It’s such a huge issue and so many people are uncomfortable talking about it, but when leaders like you come forward and talk about their real life it makes it easier for others to open up too. I also love that you’re putting more attainable goals on your mental and physical health! It’s something I miss out on often, and thank you for the reminder to put myself first!

What was nice about this podcast is how honest you were about how much time you have to knit and for others to not feel bad about how slow they are knitting. This year it is my goal to just enjoy my knitting and not try to compare myself to others. I love your two by two sweater. I was not going to buy anymore patterns this year till I used a few that I have already purchased but once it is released I am casting it on straight away no matter what is on my needles. 2x2 has been my favorite after having knit the purl soho watch cap. I cannot wait.

This resonated with me a lot! I have stopped having lots of WIPs. It makes me feel harassed to have them all around, and absurdly guilty. Now I have two at any one time - one tricky one that needs daylight and concentration, and an easy one for in front of the telly with wine. I don’t cast on a third ever. It makes me feel a lot better about things. I watched a video from another podcaster the other day and she had over 12 WIPs, it made me feel itchy with anxiety 😁

Thank you for sharing on your therapy sessions and mental health really. Especially as a knitter to say the plan is to knit less, I’d say that’s brave and necessary for you working so hard! As a second year beginner as I am, still all knitting after my working hours, I think it’s a good lesson for my future. Same with work, we can’t do all of the projects 100% at once. Love the new pattern and also the sleeve decreases btw! Perhaps you could do two versions in tight sleeves and larger sleeves 😊

Hi Laura, this is a fantastic concept, very interesting. I totally agree with your comments about having already seen what people who I follow have knit. What I do enjoy though are their comments and reflections around the wearability of their garment, how the yarn choice is wearing and whether it's a garment they reach for often or not. Maybe this type of content included in a podcast would be useful? I hope you stay well and happy. Sue.

Thanks so much for being honest and open about your health, mental and physical- it’s so brave and helpful to those who relate like myself and good to recognise it’s possible to knit so much you neglect other health type things. I’m sure you know this already but I was so excited for you to see your Chantilly cardigan design is on the front page of Ravelry on the December 30th entry: “Eye Candy: Look at the Puffs!” Very cool!

Great time with you Laura. I think as a mom, wife, human. we all need to allow ourselves the time to try things and make strides in other parts of our life. We all feel pressure that happens in the community. I just said to myself the other day.. I'm not knitting fast enough... When something inspires you, do it, and if it doesn't.. wait until the next thing does. But so glad you're trying to find the balance that makes you happy. Can't wait for this sweater! Yay I was so excited to see you uploaded. I love seeing what you knit in a week. I didn't watch any 'What I knit in 2022" because I struggle with comparison and sometimes I even take breaks from watching podcasts. Theres so may cool patterns and yarns that I would love to make but I just can't afford. I loved this format of vlogging and knitting. Whenever I see you upload, I drop everything and watch.

Frantically trying to finish all my current wips so I can dedicate all my knitting time to the eclair sweater when it releases! Such an amazing design, can’t wait!

Jessie Maed has a lot of patterns that have all over ribbing and just tells you when to purl to avoid the chunks of knit but that involves writing it out line by line. Nice to see you back!

Laura, I really enjoyed this format. It's fascinating to watch your design process in real-time. Also, thank you for sharing about your mental health journey. I think it's really important for us to normalize the struggle, because truthfully, we all struggle and it helps not to feel alone.

I really like this style of vlog Laura! Seems so much more comfortable 😊. Health first always. A pj day every now and then should be taken. I had one yesterday 🥰 worried about a thing I had today, and turned out just fine. So health and well being first. My goal for this year and all future years. ❤️
