Knitting Help - Slow Motion Wrap & Turn, Picking up Wraps

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Wraps & Turns (w&t) are a way of shaping our knitting. In this video I demonstrate traditional w&t and picking up wraps in slow-motion.
The sweater on the mannequin is my Women's Zippered Letterman's Jacket, pattern and video tutorial:

This is the best W&T video I've found. The best part is where you look at the knit side to find the wrap on a purl side. I've been struggling with the purl side pick up and this is genius! First time making socks and I am happy now! THANKS!!

Thank you so much!! Has been almost 30 yrs since I last picked up needles & my daughter found a pattern she asked if I could make for her. At first glance looked simple enough; lol, then came the wrap & turn shoulder and neck shaping...I was stumped. Not something my Gran taught me, so ever so grateful for this video...you’re teaching an old dog new tricks😉💛

Thank you for this slow mo demo. I use the wrap stitch often, especially on socks because it does not leave a seam and makes the socks more comfortable but I do fine it a difficult stitch and sometimes frustrating. Nice to be affirmed that my struggle is real. Great job. Your first wrap video is how I learned the stitch. Thanks for all your videos.

So when I do the wrap, and then turn, my working yarn is in the front. But when I turn I have to knit again so do I just bring the working yarn to the back to knit? Is there a way to add a piece of slippery yarn to the wrapped stitch to help see the stitch when I go to pick up the stitch? Also when I am on the RS of a K4,P4 pattern I notice that this pickup leaves a bit more space between the stitches. This is a pick up that I struggle with as the wrap is tight and difficult to see. Thanks for this demo amd and your response.
