I’m so glad I found your channel that you’re answering questions. My BP Med is Losartan and my protein in my urine is still high. Should I ask my nephrologist to change it? I’m on both Losartan and amlodipine.

The Q&A idea is nice but please, please, put it in a structured form, like your old tutorials (which I miss). I make notes of what I hear/read, and the present format is absolutely terrible for note takers. I dread trying to reduce to writing even part of the advice given in an hour of live Q&As. Kidney disease is much too important and complicated to approach in an informal manner. Your tutorials were wonderful. Use that format again. Simply present each question, in writing, and your answer. Thank you very much for your kind advice and encouragement for all CKD sufferers.

With the vitamin D, isn't there a risk of calcium getting pulled into the soft tissues? Is there a ratio of certain vitamins that should go with it? I can't remember if i got a ct scan or mri but i took vit d and 6 months later i got another scan and had 100's of Phleboliths all over my belly area. No idea if they are related.

Is Berberine a safe weight loss supplement for CKD stage 3?

  • @SELFPrinciple

It's a great question. In general, berberine is cleared by liver and intestine. It has very low bioavailability. That being said, I don't have any data for patients with CKD 3. I am also not aware of any damage from berberine to kidneys in CKD 3.
