A pretty cool fact about actor Hideaki Ito(Kamen Rider Eden): he is a very high profile actor in Japan and Ito himself asked to be in the movie because he and his son watched KR every week and he always wanted to be in a KR project.

In the commentary track and production note included in the Japanese blu-ray for RealxTime, they mentioned alot of interesting thing that reflected what was changed in the original script: _Ark-one were supposed to be movie-exclusive and being a different person of course. _The script for the movie was done at around March 2020, but due to Covid, they had to postponed everything. _Most of the filming location of the movie were brand new. Lots of places weren't allowed for filming in general, except for this movie alone. _The train scene was filmed in "real time" as it was only rented for one run. "It was all done thanks to Fumiya Takahashi hardwork and spendid acting"-from the production note _Director Sugihara chose anemone as an important motif for the movie. It means "I love you" in flower language. You can see the anemone logo at the start of the movie and their petals falling during the 01 and 02 fight vs Lucifer. But because they had to film the movie in July instead of Spring, they had to replace most of the anemone with chrysanthemum. _Director Sugihara was at the head of this harsh battle, the staff were able to make this movie happened because they didn't wanna lose to the pandemic and put their best into this movie. _Es' character was only written after actor Hideaki Ito was casted due to the aura surrounding him (he asked to be in the movie btw).

I stand by what I said about Zero-one, it is still to this day a great start to Reiwa era Kamen Rider. And this is where I have to clap it up to everyone working on this show. Now RealxTime was the movie that I really have to say was the kind of Kamen Rider movie that Kamen Rider movies should aspire to. RealxTime made the other riders say we don't need our main protagonist to fight back we can do it ourselves. And Gai and Horobi we're to most proactive of the Zero-one riders and it worked. And the choreography of the fights is like dang man. I could watch Zero-two's debut fight over and over again and then act it out because it's just that cool. Now who is my favorite character? Horobi. Yeah he ended up being my favorite rider of all the Zero-one riders even though he made me mad a few times but he did learn and he wasn't out classed very much and that was fine. Though I kinda wish Isamu, Yua and Horobi could have used the Gatling hedgehog, fighting Jackel and Amazing Hercules respectively. Also people need to stop blaming the forms for failure that's people's fault for excepting too much. Thanks Kaiju as always.

I think what also helped RealxTime is it had to be the finale to the series so the stakes were much higher than the average summer movie.

I watched the first episode on Tubi this week and liked it well enough to grab the blu ray when I get the chance. When I first saw the protagonist was a bad comedian who just wanted to make people smile, I started getting Ultraman Trigger flashbacks, but then Aruto showed more personality in half an hour than Kengo did across an entire series and I was sold.

Yeah, I really liked Aruto. At first, I was worried he would get on my nerves when the series first aired, but he grew on me and it was nice to see someone who wasn't all broody.

I take issue with your terminator comparison. That movie was not a very high budget action movie at 6.4 million dollars and was essentially independently developed, so they had to stretch every penny as far as it could go. Also, the weird makeup in that scene works narratively as it demonstrates that the terminator's human fascade is deteriorating at that point and that he's really just a machine. So while the issue is clearly budgetary, overall it works in the story

To be fair, Kamen Rider runs on a budget less than the first Terminator movie. I've also never been a fan of that scene i showed as it always looked off to me. There are other movies that I have seen it used, but I didn't have them on hand like I did with Terminator.

Very solid review as always. I remember buying all the toys from zero-one as they came out as i just love this series so much, my only downside with the progrise keys is that there was too many of them to the point i had to stop buying them. Other than really the thouser vs arc, these series is very enjoyable to watch. Every actor is amazing in their role and every single rider doesn't feel similar at all. Soundtrack and Fight choreography is outstanding and surprisingly they didn't use a lot of cgi. Can't wait for my blu-ray to come in the mail and can't wait for Blade and Black to get releases along with other amazing rider series in the future.

Yeah, there were a lot of progrise keys and as I mentioned in the review, I totally forgot there was a polarbear form as it is the only Zero-One key I am missing (for series at least).

Zero-One really highlight how bad the current street legal bike traffic laws are. We need more civilian bike. Oh and Fighting Jackal can be easily retooled as Yaiba's final form in the series.

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork I think Shirakura mentioned that eventually, they will ran out of places to film in Japan due to their laws. Right now, only option is to film stock footage, but likely no one in Toei has the mind to do such a thing.

So, what are you going to review next after Kuuga? I assume that Ryuki is going to be one of the KR seasons that would get tackled sometime this year due its availability through TokuSHOUTsu. Or even Gridman due to its official release by Mill Creek as well as a shorter episode count of 39 rather than the usual 48-51 for something different entirely.

Skyrider is planned after Kuuga, though I'm hoping to have Ultraman Gaia out first. After those, it will depend onw hat Mill Creek has released. I do need to tackle the anime and Gridman as I'm sure Mill Creek is not happy about me not having reviewed them yet even though that is why they sent me them. As for rider, my next two after Sky planned are 555 and Hibiki. Beyond that, I'm not sure as I really would like to tackle another Metal Heroes series this summer.

I love that you mentioned the two final spin off movies not included in the set. I dont fault SF for it however because their Zero One release is superb. Just damn good.

Nice review as usual. I liked Zero-One but not so much, the story got a bit messy in the second half (probably because of the few episodes). Villains had a great potential this time. Every time the game reminded me of Detroit: Being Human, which has this androids like humans theme. I have to admit special effects are so cool in this series, I like the intro for every Kamen Rider form and the Zaia trademark for everything. Those are incredible details. I still have to see the closing movie. By the way the opening is incredible, it's one of my favorite in the series. I really hope Reiwa era goes to higher standards. I enjoyed the David Tennant/10th Doctor reference.

The David Tennant scene is all I thought of when we first watched the show and that scene happened. I found it really embrassing and ruined his character for me as it undermined everything he had done up to that point.

I’m just so glad that Kamen Rider was finally able to get an official Blu Ray and DVD here in America. No more of that Bootleg nonsense

Personally, I would love them to do Blade since it's my favorite show, but I'd be okay with either Kuuga, Ryuki, or the original since they already own those for streaming. Also, nearly every Kamen Rider series is on BD in Japan, so I don't see any reason for them to do DVDs.

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork I don’t mind the DVDs, but what I think they should do for Kamen Rider (and for Super Sentai as if they ever get the rights back), is that the pre HD seasons (so the original Kamen Rider through Kamen Rider Hibiki and Gorenger through Magiranger) should be released on DVD and the HD seasons (Kamen Rider Kabuto through Kamen Rider Saber and Boukenger through Zenkaiger) should be released on Blu-Ray

Nah, DVD is obsolete and an ugly format. If for some reason they can't do them on BD, they should definitely do them on SDBD. However, all of the Showa era Rider shows, along with most Sentai shows through half of the 90s, were recorded on 16mm film, so they can easily be remastered in HD just like Ultaman has. The problem comes down to whether or not Toei wants to spend the money to do such. They have already done so with most of the Kamen Rider series and Gorenger.

I like the plot of this show, and I don't know if I'm thinking about it to deeply, but if it was intentionally, I like the allegory, along with the moral and ethical questions Humagears brought to the table. I didn't think someone would make just as bad jokes as myself until I watched Artuo Hiden for the first time. The chemistry he has with Is, especially with his joke is probably one of the most priceless things I've ever seen. Also gotta love my boy Fuwa on a path of vengeance and blood. We'll for a little bit at least. It was interesting watching his relationship with Yaiba, and how with the introduction of Gai it changed the whole dynamic. And even though I hated him to the core, Kamen Rider Thouser is honestly just badass. When the Ark gained it's form that was badass as well. But I also can't forget the relationship between Horobi and Jin as well. The whole "singularity" concept was something I found intriguing as well. I'm also a sucker for a good plot twist, so every one in this show surprised and shocked me to say the least. I do love the text to speech for the henshins as well, specifically "When the five horns cross, the Golden Soldier, Thouser, is born" and "Hell's Energy has Destroyed the World". The CGI was kinda iffy sometimes, I noticed a little bit but not to much. As for the music, I liked it and the opening REALxEYES grew on me as I went through the whole show. Lastly, I commend any of the actors who played Humagears. Cuz playing a character that's a robot gotta be hard. At least I would think. Also I just had to make this joke but, Episode 42 = EMOTIONAL DAMAGE Another thing that I don't know if it's intentionally or not, but I found all the biblical references throughout both the show and the film interesting. Surprised you didn't mention it in your video. But, I do have one problem however, and this may seem extremely nitpicky but they didn't explain it in the show and I'm still confused. If Artuo is a human, then how was his dad a Humagear, but his grandfather was human as well? Every time they mentioned his dad it drove me insane lol. Not to mention the fact that Gai is 45, but looks like he's 24. Oh and while I wasn't a fan at first I did find Aruto being over the top to be hilarious as well. Btw also curious what the difference between a regular and Japanese wolf are, I feel that lol. This is the fourth Kamen Rider season I've watched (watching another one rn as we speak), and while this is last place rn that's not saying much since I'm not really enjoying the other one I'm watching. This'll never hit the heights of the other three seasons I've watched though. Solid: 8/10

I personally wished there was a relationship with Naki and Fuwa, the two shared a body and it felt relly reminiscent of W, which is one of my personal favorites. And it could've led to interesting stories being soldiers on opposite sides.

When it comes to the forms, Biting Shark is my favorite to look at, so much so that my OC Kamen Rider Break is inspired by this form, Flaming Tiger is my favorite with the sound mainly because of the delivery of "Gigant Flare. Flaming Tiger!" And when it comes to Powers... I don't really have a favorite for powers... Though I do like Vulcan's Rampage Gatling.

What a great series overall for being my first Kamen Rider I really enjoyed it. Those last few episodes were some of the best and I loved the finale thought it was perfect. Still have to watch the movie but just very happy I bought it and gave it a chance.

You cant denied that Zero One was a good introduction for the Reiwa Era. I can say that its intended to be better if only Covid hadnt stopped it production.....mid way through? But regardless, I found Zero One to be very entertaining and Aruto is one good Kamen Rider Hero and MC. So good job, Kaiju no Kami. I found your review of Zero One to be very on point with what I have to say about Zero-One. By the way, you forgot to mention the amazing duo fight of Aruto and Is against Lucifer when they transform into Zero one and two. That fight was amazing and heartwarming to be honest. Although, I do agree with Meysuboujinrai film. Although, I do like it for the awesome fight scene and music. Its just sad to see Zero One having to rewrite its previous heart touching and well messaged ending. Like come on, is it that hard to leave something like that as it is for the start of the new era?

I hope they do an Ex-Aid or Saber Blu-ray next. Except I'm not sure how Shout Factory would handle the Super Sentai crossover episodes.

Lol I hadn't watched your entire video was trying to avoid spoilers but that was hilarious ending "And that's a work of Kaiju No Kami" So there is a movie after Zero-One but they didn't include it on the blu ray set? I know you said it's not good but still disappointing they didn't include them all.

The Zero-One Others movies haven't even been out in Japan for a full year yet. Most Japanese companies typically have an 18 month embargo period from when something comes out on video in Japan to when a licensor is allowed to release it in America. The only exception I have ever seen from Toei in this aspect is Dragonball Super Broly, but the US release had a green tint filter placed over the video whereas the Japanese BD did not have that.

Well with Zi-O, you had what looked like a watch wrist band down his body and then all of his watches along his arms. Plus the Katakana on his visor. For Build, he had white rings around one leg, the red and blue had spikes that stuck out, the handle on the henshin built is like in the way, etc.

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork For Zi-O, the whole thing is about time and clocks so the designers probably wanted to really incorporate it into the suit. The watches along his arms are a functional thing, used to hold ridewatches. For Build, the springs on his red half are a reference to his rabbit motif, as he uses the springs multiple times. As for his belt, and all of his belt, it's steampunk machinery. His base form over all looks like a buncha armor player clustered together over a black leather suit. Very steampunk, if that makes any sense.

Sorry to hear you didn't like Ex-Aid. I loved it from the get-go, but as soon as that one guy took over as the main villain (I'm sure you know who I'm talking about) and they only fought him in every episode that just ruined it for me although I still loved most of the parts that didn't involve fighting. I saw the first 2 episodes of Zero One last night and honestly, I liked everything about them except for Aruto. He's just too over the top for me, and this is coming from a guy who really liked Genta in Shinkenger. Nevertheless I'm determined to finish it and your review made me want to continue with it.

I wish this series wasn't a victim of my Kamen Rider burnout I only saw past the first 20 or so episodes at the time and then I fell out and have been trying to get back into Kamen Rider with the series after Zero-One but fell out after a couple episodes for each. Then again i haven't been keeping up with a lot of media especially Japanese media due to video games being more of my focus lately. I do hope to come back to this and other Toku one day. Though speaking of video games I kinda wish I could get that new Kamen Rider game that features Zero-One, W (Double), and OOO but money is tight especially after the recent Nintendo Direct with it's announcements.

I can totally get that as I go through a Kamen Rider burn out every few years. Like I got burnt after after Gaim so we quit halfway through Drive and didn't really come back until Build, then skipped Zi-O, came back for Zero-One, and then skipped Saber. Now I'm on this Kamen Rider kick again, which works for the channel.

I heard there is going to be some Zero-One comic, but I haven't paid attention to it since I don't bother with individual comic books anymore. I only spend my money on Omnibuses and oversized hardcovers. The only reason I do the Godzilla comics is because IDW and Bottalk send me digital review copies.

Corporate rivalry taken to an extreme level... That's pretty cool. Reminds me a bit of Faiz.

The problem for me while watching this was that pretty early on, the protagonists know where the Ark is and yet none of them do anything about it until it's too late. That was in the back of my mind the entire show and it just made everyone look like idiots. The entire second half of the show could have been prevented if someone thought to drag that thing from the bottom of the lake and destroy it. Especially after Horobi and Jin were out of commission.

Yeah, I thought of that to as I almost used a joke I'm planning to use in my Kuuga review here. :-) I also feel like the final fight in the finale is remiscent to the fight between Kuuga and Deguva.

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork It's Daguva. And yeah, they were kinda similar. Except Kuuga didn't have Realizing Hopper.

The Zero One V Cinemas really had the potential to be interesting little epilogue side stories that perfectly compliment the show. What we get instead are movies that completely disrespect the characters, needlessly kills off characters who had the potential to get a semi decent conclusion just for the sake of “subverting expectations”, and giving Valkyrie a new form just to have her lose it 4 minutes after getting it, and brining back a plot line from Ex Aid that really didn’t need to come back. Even as the biggest Dan Koruto fan in the room, the specials staring him were just disappointing.

Nah, that one is definitely not planned for any time soon. I wrote the script to my Skyrider review today, am nearly done with HIbiki, and started 555. I'm also planning to do Drive this year as well. If I have time, I might try to tackle W before the anime sequel comes out, but we'll see if that happens or not. As for your Ryuki question, I'm just not in the mood to tackle Ryuki (or Fourze) right now. Usually I just go based on what my brain wants to watch. Now if Shout! were to announce a Blu-Ray release of Ryuki, that would change things immensely.

One thing I like in this series is the Humagear and A.I.M.S. Humagears are similar to Reploids from megaman x when they go berserk (it depends on situation) they became Magia just like they went Maverick. The A.I.M.S. were very similar to the Maverick Hunters. Pros: One of my most favorite designs are Thouser, Rampage Vulcan, and Zero Two. Izu is my favorite waifu. The Aruto's lame joke is one of the best running gag of all time. Cons: I do like Yua however the writers didn't know what to do for her during the 2nd half. Fuwa has more development than Aruto. I do like Gai but during the Ark One arc is like *what just happened to his soul of a businessman*. No backstory on how Jin was repaired. Overall: It's not perfect despite the medium amounts of flaw season but I do really enjoyed the series. It's a fresh start of a era. I understand why the climax episode was force rush writing it's because of the months of hiatus due to pandemic, no problems there. Good call on the Mega Man X parallels. I totally didn't even think of that one. We did get told that ZAIA had repaired Jin though. Williamson contacted him in like episode 41 telling him to kill Horobi.

And if you don't know kaiju no kami the monsters or kaijin from agito are called lords in the show my be called unknown but in the kamen rider wiki it says that they are called lords which it's a much cooler name

Oh I know they are called Lords, but I felt that would have been a spoiler as to their identity, which is why I only called them the Unknowns in my review since unlike the Grongi, they don't tell us their names until the end of the show.

I too really enjoyed Zero-One after binge-watching it and with a cast that you like or love to hate, the effects especially all the computer voices phase, it is up there with one of the best of Riders series. I agreed that the Specials with the villains and Fuwa/Yaiba was a downer especially what happened in the end and Aruto is up there in space when everything went to hell in the special. Zero Two didn't appear much which I too love the design since it is paying homage to Kamen Rider Nigo. It's even better the second time around.

I watched 01 in conjunction with Blade & Kabuto. I am surprised by how much I like the show despite excessive gimmicks & anime style of writing. It's like, Ryuki done right & actually fun to watch (yes, I know I have a controversial opinion). I also said I didn't like Blade because the action is boring, but that is not the case in 01 at all. I guess I just like 01 knows what kind of show it is. It knows not to be too convoluted & overly philosophizing. It knows what made Kamen Rider fun, unique & what elements the modern fans are looking for in a Kamen Rider show. The philosophy is presented & handled well, the characters have justifiable reasons to be the way they are. The build up to the ending is really good & the end ep is simply stellar. While I don't like a few eps around the early 30s, but for 01 bad, is still better than from some other shows. I did noticed some characters are a bit out-of-nowhere, but I just don't know if it's bad writing or anime trope. But I absolutely hate the neon yellow suit, it simply hurt my eyes. A literal torture to watch for me. So when the show kept Hiden in the Hiden Metal form, it was a relieve to my eyes. But it also highlights why I don't like modern Kamen Rider shows for playing around with the concept of multiple forms. When the writing is bad, it looks so obvious the Rider isn't changing form because of plot reasons & that makes your Rider looks stupid which always annoy me about modern Kamen Rider shows. Design wise, special forms & other Riders suits are kinda meh to me. I did think it's ridiculous a modern Kamen Rider has a giant robot now. But luckily, it appeared for like, 2 eps. Ark is cool, but it screams edgy anime to me, so I don't really like it that much. While the suits are meh, the effects are just ridiculous in a good way. I find them a bit too flashy, but it's not too bad. I don't hate any characters. Hiden was annoying at 1st, but he grew up which is what I like. I'd say the main actors & actresses gave it their all for the role. For the songs, I only like Real Eyes. I don't know what's the right word here, guilty pleasure? I went in not expecting much, I came out satisfied, it was a pleasant surprise.

Zero-One is definitely an enjoyable show, but I would not call it a guilty pleasure by any means.

The Ark is the only villain I know that wins by doing nothing literally he's a satellite underwater and the riders never even bothered to hunt down this thing along with fighting Hirobi.

I like the overall design, I'm just not a fan of the monotonous color scheme. I think if there had been some black detail in there it would have worked better for me.

I loved this one as it improved from the shortcomings of its predecessor in various aspects. Despite the covid issue I think the series is still great and whatever plans were eventually got made into the V-cinema exclusive.

I watched the first arc as it aired and I loved the show. Then the Competition Arc happened and it killed all momentum for me. I may try to get back into it once I finish Ultraman Gaia, but from what I hear.... Thouser is going to make my blood boil so bad.

Thank you the show should have just ended with RealxEyez. Thankfully, it came out too late and it isn't on the Blu-ray. Is it weird that I consider the "others" films non canon they just don't fit well at all.

SPOILERS The problem I had with Others is it made Metsuboujinrai's redemption in the series utterly pointless. Plus, killing off As the way they did meant she had no reason to exist at all. It just felt like someone was in a Tomino mood.

I really hoped at one point, someone at Toei realizes that the events of Others has to be undone and give Yua the respect she deserves as a character and Rider.

I found Zero One Is pararel of Kuuga in a good way Where As Kuuga Got his Power from an ancient Belt Meanwhile Zero One got his Power from a Belt that was Build from Technological Power And the Fact that Both of Protagonist Godai and Aruto Want to protect the smile of People The Pararel doesn't just end there and the Valkyrie on Bike scene on the movie reminds a lot of Kuuga Bike action Also The Opening While Zero one Song feel a lot more energetic like an opening that would come out on recent year Kuuga Opening feel a lot more Melancholic where there's Isn't a lot instrument to the song like Zero One While Kuuga has only 1 Rider on the Opposite Zero One has multiple rider the Final Form is also needed to mention while Zero Two is very Advanced Prediction system up to 99% the prediction power will be right, Ultimate Form is very powerful hell i will even said that Ultimate Kuuga is More powerful than Zero Two But slower Than Zero Two so one of then is Stronger while the other one is Faster so up to you to decide which do you prefer, me personally i prefer Kuuga Ultimate where You need to have Pure heart so you can control it to Make use of its full power This also Bring in There's a Few Movie for Zero One meanwhile Kuuga had None up until now i really Hope Joe Odagiri Return For Kuuga 25th anniversary In conclusion Both series is a Good series to Begin the new Era of Kamen rider where the tone is set between those 2, despite the pararel i enjoy it for me i prefer Kuuga than Zero One but i still enjoy Zero one

I feel like they only keep Sentai around because at this point it is tradition and the Japanese can't stand breaking tradition. Well that or they really want to hype up the 50th anniversary. Either way, I've felt they should have put Sentai to rest after the first several Post-Gokaiger failures and then came back for tis 50th newly refreshed.

I'm trying to stick with it I do like the show but just not as much as a Giant monster show like Ultraman or even Super Sentai. I'm on episode 20 and the work place competition is really taking me out of it. Also Zero-One still feels like a side character in the action fight scenes a lot of times which I don't really like. I think for me Kamen Rider shows would be better being the 26 episodes 45-50 is going to be a struggle for me.

The competition arc is a chore to get through, especially on the first viewing. However, I'm not sure why you aren't liking the action scenes when theya re well choreographed and shot. That length is something you could say about every Toku show.

I probably shouldn't have compared it to the others it's just different is all. I'm still getting used to the show. I meant to me I thought Zero-one would be a boss by now and beating all the enemies but it seems he's always getting helped or beat down. The scenes themselves are Great.

I'm not a big fan of modern Kamen rider TV shows I think after wizard I give up because it's too confusing I love the toys based on the episodes sometimes I will watch videos about reviews of the episodes and movies but as far as watching New seasons like ghost or drive I give up it's too confusing I love the old riders kuuga den-o ryuki

After Gaim I felt KR got quite dicey, but there are still great things about some of the follow ups. The current series, Revice, has been quite stellar with its mystery plot and that the villains have no qualms about killing.
