It probably helps that they are used to needing to communicate clearly in high-stress situations. An ominous timer probably isn't as stressful as an actual bomb or enemy fire, but they somehow work under those conditions.

Even when you are trained to deal with these kinds of situations, stress is always going to be a given. It’s just a natural human response to a tense situation. The trick is not to not be stressed, it’s how to suppress and overcome it so that you can complete the task calmly and efficiently.

Simple wires is a module of 3-6 horizontal wires of multiple solid colours. Complex wires is 5 or 6 (I don't recall) vertical wires, which may be red, blue, white, red/white stripes, blue/white stripes or red/blue stripes, and may also have a light or star. Complex wires only show up in later modules and are a pain in the manual

I work in a kitchen and when I'm training new people i always explain that minimal, concise communication is best. Consolidate all the info you need to get across in as few words as possible, so we don't waste precious time and mental energy working out what is needed. I'm not working with bombs, but how they communicate was so similar to how we talk in a kitchen, and so validating for some reason. If you ever meet someone who responds with "Heard" to acknowledge what you said, they've been a line cook.

This was the least stressful video I have ever watched with somebody playing Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Rhett and Link had terrible communication skills, and Dan and Phil kept screaming (rip headphone users). These two military men have so much experience with focus and good communication skills that they managed to do this better and faster than anyone I have ever watched.
