I'm still going to buy of course but it really bothers me that they didn't subtitle the songs, I can't remember the last time I watched an anime or tokusatsu where they didn't subtitle the music. This makes me nervous for future releases, especially more stuff from the Heisei era.

Like I said in the review, the subtitles were the same subs that were used on Crunchyroll, and those didn't have the songs subbed either. As such, Mill Creek clearly only used what Tsuburaya gave them. Let's hope that enough noise is made about this issue that for future releases they'll rectify that matter and sub the songs.

Kaiju no Kami interesting 😇

This is undoubtedly the series that pulled me back into Ultraman. Orb was such a proud Showa reminder that it refreshing. He break the mold for recent Ultra, heck even Riders or Sentai since he more of an experienced warriors and the series focus a lot to characters interactions. Granted Ultraman do that a lot but it feel less like Juggler is a force for Gai to defeat like said, Mebius with its build up villain. As for the movie villains, this remind me I am sad that the other stories for Orb might not get make to series since the witch in the movie suppose to appear in one of the story. There it show how she was quite a low time criminal.

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork That's a hopeful thought XD. But this isn't a first time the Toku got the villains but not the heroes for it. Looking at u Alien Nackle.....still a damn fine episode for Taiga though. Though I think someone messed up n accidentally took the script for 2022 Ultraman Spades, the son of Ultraman Jack lol.

This is the perfect way to be introduced to the Ultraman franchise. Even if you don’t get the references, you’re drawn into a show with memorable characters, tons of suspense and lots of action. Orb also does a lot in 25 episodes with its all killer, no filler approach. I don’t know about you, Kaiju. But my favorite episode was easily the one with Haruka, the girl whose dreams foreshadowed reality. There’s a really great lesson not only in that episode but in many of them.

Ginga's first season was pretty bad, but I enjoyed the second season. X was half and half for me. Some parts were slow, some I heavily enjoyed.

I finished the main series last Sunday and I watched the Orb movie yesterday so I finally got finished. Until the Ultra Galaxy OVA got announced but whatever. I enjoyed this show. And I can really agree with why episode 22 is the best episode of the show and I think I like that episode too. The movie, I like it and I laughed everytime the cyborg alien was complaining about wanting a fair fight which is understandable I want a fair fight too. Now I got Carranger's final arc left and then I can move on to Ultraman Mebius and Jetman.

Nice review. Are you familiar with Orb Chronicle? It takes place after Orb The Origin Saga and adds new story elements and explains a bit more stuff about the characters. In particular, the villains of the movie. There’s a Wiki Article you read more about it.

12:01,I finished watching Orb before even knowing Gundam Wing. I'm hyped. 14:04,that is just cool. 14:14,I still think we need more fights like this. Sentai included. The last time I recalled was in Power Rangers in Space when the Astro Delta Megazord and Silver Ranger were fighting rabid lizards and yeah,that scene was lit!! 18:20,also this old man was the Magnet Baron from Dairanger (which is a good example showing how racist the Gorma can be towards humans,another reason why Dairanger is awesome),the scientist dude from Gransazer helping out the Flame Tribe and that one monster that featured the debut of Kamen Rider Beast from Kamen Rider Wizard.

Hey Kaiju, if you've seen them are some of the Ultraman movies any good, like Ultraman the Next? I've heard some stuff about that one in particular and thought I'd get your take on it.

I enjoy Ultraman the Next, but it's a more grim dark take on the franchise. I was going to do a review on it a while back, but it got lost in the shuffle and now I'm just going to wait for Mill Creek to release it.

Orb is a really good series and a great starting point in the latter Heisei era of Ultra. I also really like that they went for the 25 episode run, allowing for more time on the scripting, effects, and making it easier to binge. (and the added humor was nice.) It's also cool that they Included the movie as well, and I like that the films are only 1 movie and there after the show ended. Of course, I don't really have a problem with the subs only that I'm disappointed they didn't do the songs. and while I don't mind the toy gimmicks I just don't like how really Long they are. they could have at least shorten the transformation sequences after a few times and just make them 10 seconds or less. Also, what is your favorite era? mine Is the early Heisei era from Ultraman Tiga to Mebius.

Favorite era for Ultraman? I can't really say right now as I haven't seen every series from each era. I've seen Original, Seven, Return, Leo, Towards the Future, Tiga, Nexus, Ultra Seven X, Ginga, X, Orb, and Geed.

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork Well what I mean by that is. The Showa era Is much more Violent and is more closer to what Showa monster movies were out at the time. The early Heisei is not as viloent and has much more story, or at lest much more plot points and transformations. Where as the Latter Heisei / Reiwa has much more humor and is much more shorter, while also having much more plot points and toy gimmicks. (That's what I ment.)

Ultraman Orb was the first series I watched from beginning to end so while I didn't get all the references to past series, it was definitely a blast to watch. Also, I LOVED the music in this series.

There was also Ultra-Galaxy, which was basically Pokémon but with Ultra monsters and that spinoff is what led to Ultraman Zero and his uneven film trilogy.

I should note that I have about 4 episodes left so I'll probably be updating this at some point. After watching Ultra Q and Ultraman, I had no idea what to expect going into Orb. This might be a little unfair (because it's my third season), but so far it's my favorite. First off that theme song. It's an absolute bang that honestly just slaps hard. Though I have no idea why they changed it halfway through the show. As for the characters, I love them so much. The SSP is a great group, that honestly honor there predecessors everyway that they can. But also, what is it these kind of shows and having characters named Gai being total badasses. On that note, the relationship between him and Jugglus Juggler is one I love. It's one that reminds me like Ryo and Jin in Dairanger or Jan and Leo in Gekiranger, and they have some of the best hand to hand fights (which isn't something I'd expect from Ultraman). I believe that similar to Ultraman Mebius, this show qualifies as a anniversary season. And if it does they really did a great job incorporating it without it making outstay its welcome (like other shows I imagine). Though I do find it weird that while Gai fuses other Ultramen, while all of the other characters have never heard of them before. Now I'm about to watch Episode 22 (the one that you said was your favorite), but so far some of my favorites includes Episode 10 (which had a great hand to hand fight), Episodes 11 & 12 (the Thunder Breastar two parter) and Episodes 16 & 17. While I saw the twist with those episodes coming, I honestly didn't think they do it. Since I also watched it recently, it kinda reminds me what they did GaoSilver in Gaoranger. Also, you actually featured it but Episode 18 had one of the best shots ever, with Shibukawa Ittetsu fighting the alien, and then Orb in the background. Not to mention that sunset battle was awesome. I liked this whole metaphor of light and darkness used throughout, and having Gai and Juggler being the incarnations of that. However I did have some problems. One thing I did get over quickly was the opening not being subbed so I really don't find that to be a issue. However, I personally found both Naomi's mom and cousin to be super annoying in the episodes they were in. Also, I can understand with Sentai and Rider, because 50 episodes is a lot. But this show is 25 episodes. Does it really need a clip show? It just felt kinda pointless. My last issue isn't even with the show itself. I believe someone at Amazon messed up my Blu-Ray set, because for some reason the Discs that hold Episodes 11-15, 16-20, 21-25 and the movie don't fit and when I move the trays they keep falling out. Which I find both annoying and I worry that the Blu-Rays will scratch. Regardless, I love this show and even though u said it's not good, I do wanna get Ultraman Orb: The Origin Saga (along with Ultraseven), because there are some questions I still have. But who knows they might be answered in the last 4 episodes (or not idk lol). P.S. I hate to be that person (and Ik there's nothing you can do about it cuz u posted this video three years ago), but Burnmite was the second form he obtained, while Hurricane Slash was the third.

I guess at this point, Orb's single clipshow episode isn't that big of a deal given Trigger and Decker have had like 4 or 5. Glad you have been enjoying Orb. Not sure what you mean about the forms though. I was just listing them, not putting them in order.

I also love that they combined the regular film with a crossover (something Toei should do cough cough). Definitely has me interested in watching Ultraman X. Oh and that scene was Ultraseven was awesome. Super hyped to watch it now since I just ordered it. Overall, this might be one of these best shows I’ve ever watched. Hopefully Geed is just as good

I think I've seen parts of this when I was looking for fights of Ultraman Gaia. But I will say that I think I may have to buy this one just from the few fights I've seen. Also the opening was funny. But which Mortal Kombat did you get it from?

Orochi was cool, but it's hard to say since I'm not 100% sure which are new outside of Maga Orochi and the Panzeppan since I have not seen every Ultraman show. I originally thought Galactron was new and then learned when I watched X afterwards that it was in that show too.

I'm watched the first 8 episodes and I'm loving this show. I love how gai is kind of a combination of all the archetypical cool guy traits for heroes. He is such a fun character to watch and the ssp are endearing as hell. Really enjoying it.

I still personally enjoyed the final battle with greeza from x a little more but that really just personal preference and doesnt mean this ending wasn't great especially juggler "see you soon" line before orb finishes orochi off.

It's up to you. I'd say yes because Toku is a genre that one lost sale can blow an entire franchise, but it's your money in the long run.

Granted clip shows are usually a money saving episode, it could also be used to give the effect guts a break as well. I'm just taking a guess there because of a podcast about Garo I was listening to a couple of years ago were that was the point of the ckip show of the first season . before somebody went "He's going to fight Horrors on a flaming train car flying through the sky."

Garo was in 2005, so I was okay with it back then as back then, DVR was still not that popular and streaming didn't exist. These days, I don't see why they should exist.

I honestly loved this season. Characters were funny and theme song was awesome. For anyone reading this who hasn’t seen this yet, and kaiju no kami would probably agree, watch the origin saga before the main series, you’ll get more of an understanding of the story

I actually would not agree. The Origin Saga wouldn't make sense if you haven't seen the series first nor does it even fit with being a prequel.

Possibly. The problem is when the show sets up a story set in the 1900s and they do a show that is advertised to be Tiga's origin, it was to be expected it would be set in the 1900s. . One of the issues The Origin Saga had was pitting part of the show on modern day Earth.

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork I haven't seen the series in its entirety either. However from what I've heard throughout the years about the show's plot, Yapool is the main mastermind who created the chouju in the series.

My hair is going to be like that for a while.

The whole series are basically comedic version of Ultraseven with homeless Dan Moroboshi, and a little touch of Nexus. Also, what's the point of the clip show episode?

I've been enjoying the Ultraman Manga so these recent home video releases of Ultraman are making me want to start getting into the franchise. I watched Tiga as a kid on TV but I was too involved with Power Rangers, Masked Rider and Beetleborgs to really pay too much attention to it. Plus it was quite foreign to me, especially because up until that point the only Japanese Kaiju type show I ever saw was one of the Godzilla movies and it had a poor english dub just like Ultraman lol.
