If Drive was a Reiwa Era season, Kiriko definitely would have become a Rider at some point. And its nice to know the Leader of the Seatopians was able to find a new lease on life after the whole "Jet Jaguar" incident and decided to start making motorcycle based Rider powers instead.

He wasn't the leader of the Seatopians, but one of the soldiers.

Shinnosukes quirk with his tie actually makes sense. Having a sort of "ritual" you perform before doing certain tasks can actually help you to focus better an said task. There are multiple psychological studies in that regard that even proofed this. I sadly have forgotten the scientific term for it though.

I mean......god. I don't know where to begin with this show, because I LOVE it so much! I won't lie I was doing a drumroll of worry in my head towards the end of your video regarding the grading, which I do agree of it having a 4/5. It was for all the reasons mostly. Drive hasn't had me this excited for a Kamen Rider series since W, OOO, Fourze, and Gaim. Also, what made me especially happy with the show was that the Police got to be a big part in a lot of stuff, whereas they were deemed incompetent in previous shows (Save Kuuga and somewhat Agito). Also also, the group had me laughing so so much in a lot of episodes! I forget which, but I had to stop one episode for a moment to recover because my ribs were hurting from so much laughing lol And damn, they pulled through when it mattered in very serious moments! Thank you for doing this review! This show means a lot to me personally, so I'm glad to have other fans talk about it :)

I agree with you about how cops are portrayed in a lot of Toku series. Okay, granted, recent events in the US have changed my perspective, but I prefer it when Toku shows took them seriously like Agito and Kuuga did. It's one the themes I talk about in my panel on Sugimura because he started his career in crime dramas, so he usually had the cops in his Toku series be serious. Anyway, there was one show that turned me off called Ryukendo right from the start becasue the cops were worse than Storm Troopers when it came to shooting monsters. Glad you enjoyed the review. 🙂

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork I remember Ryukendo actually having some pretty well-executed comedy, and the last quarter of the show actually being decently serious once Ryujinoh is introduced. Yeah, the production's really cheap, so it never feels cinematic in the way that a lot of Toei's shows have attempted in the past, and the CG can be pretty abyssmal at times, but it's far from the worst. The spiritual sequels improve on the portrayal of emergency services a lot, though, Rescue Fire in particular.

One more thing to note is the reason why they didn’t do a crossover with double voice because back when I think wizard Phillips actor signed a contract with a different company that prevented it from coming back which is sad because double is my second favorite season😢

I definitely had a great drive watching this show. It took me 2 viewings to truly like it as i couldnt really get into it back when it but after a couple years of it ending, i decided to revisit it. Shinosuke and Go are just a delight from start to finish with Heart being one of the best villains in the entire franchise. Chase definitely started to be really great in the second half.

I'm going to keep this one short as possible too. I enjoyed Drive as well I asked for a a main Rider to be a cop and well here we are and Shinosuke is one of my favorite main protagonist but Chase is about equal in the favorite department however my favorite rider in Drive is Zero-Drive because I just like proto type Kamen Riders. I do think when it comes to the monsters of the week they had more compared to Gaim and at least one Roudmude was beaten like every episode. And you now that I think about Drive was basically a Kamen Rider Dragnet season. Like without the narration of what time it is and an update of what they're doing.

I really think Shinnosuke edged out Chaser in being my favorite of the show, but he definitely had alot of great moments in the second half. And crap, I knew I forgot something. I was going to use a Dragnet joke in my review, but totally forgot due to how busy the school year has been.

I liked the Nininger appearance in the movie was alright. They were there to help fight the giant villain, and while I do get what you mean by out of nowhere, I still liked it. Also I like seeing Kamen rider/super Sentai team up mechas.

Kamen Rider Drive is special to me because it was the last full season of Kamen Rider me and my brother watched together before I left for the Airforce. My brother quite enjoyed Drive following after Wizard and Gaim. They were like our trinity of seasons we could look back at fondly in that time. It started my brief stint in collecting Kamen Rider toys before I left too.

Now 6 years and 2 months later I’m still in. My first base was 4 years in Italy, one year in South Korea and now currently back in my home state in Phoenix, Arizona. I’m very lucky I got to travel abroad but work wasn’t always easy with bullies all around. All through that Tokusatsu and Precure were my life raft! I remember watching your review of Ohranger the night I flew into Italy and started that new chapter!

The time went by quick. I don’t have any regrets in joining when I did. I have special memories now having got to experience foreign culture. On the work side of things my career did not go the way I wanted. It was hard for me to focus at work when all the bullies would always put me down. Things are not as bad as they used to be back then, so work is much better. I’m fortunate I have a job and I always try to find the positives in my situations. Toku is my passion and has always been there for me, especially when things have been difficult!

Ultraman is better than Kamen rider for all those reasons = Tokusatsu fans patiently waiting for the Hibiki 20th anniversary、Kiva 15th anniversary、Drive 10th anniversary and Ghost 10th anniversary in This year or 2025 so they can announce some new keychains at the Kamen Rider Store、We need to accept that Toei practically buried Hibiki、Kiva、Drive and Ghost、We ain't getting shit like No CSM、No Sodo chronicle、No cast reunion and No characters coming back NOTHING 😭

The one series I wouldnt mind seeing a collaboration between Toei X Takara Tomy. I remember there were these small vehicle toys and they look very well made and designed. At least for japanese side anyway

Makes sense. Though, technically the F&F series is a super hero series since nobody ever actually dies, they can do whatever they want with the cars, even go into space, etc.

Drive’s car theme actually makes sense other than the fact that we learn in one of the specials that mr belt loves cars and that’s why it has a car theme in my opinion it has a car motif because the villans can slow down time hence only the speed of cars could stop these villans

I think the rrason W didn't come back is similar to why we never see them in crossover nowsaday. The main duo is very famous. Especially Suda Masaki, who is an A class star and is impossible to invite back. In 2018, Toei wanted to invite him to the Build x Zio crossover for a cameo but couldn't because his schedule was booked 3 years in advance, 3 YEARS!!. (Tho they did get Sato Takeru back so it was qyite a success)

When Drive first aired i wasn't too sure what to think of it on my second rewatch i learned to actually really like it even entering my top 10 sure the first half of it is repetitious though those episodes weren't all that bad, the second half however is amazing i really loved how they executed the other half, the storyline with Shinnosuke and Nira is one of my favorites in the franchise, the endgame arc is also beautifully written and Chase's death hit really hard (yes harder than Grease's death) My problems with Drive -Despite learning some details in regards to him, Banno is a weak antagonist though not as bad as Maki from OOO, Giff or Gifu from Revice, Sh- i meant Storious and Solomon from Saber and Narutaki from Decade -Characters with glasses don't have the fun kind of comedy (Brain still had badass moments though) -Whatever the heck that Sangou movie was (yes it's worse than Super Hero Taisen Z) Now i give you a salute as you watch Kamen Rider Zi-O (hope you have a better time than i had) what is your least favorite thing about your favorite rider season and what is the best thing in the season you consider as the franchise's worst.

The worst thing about Blade is the two Hajimes two parter. A random pair of comedy episodes thrown into a show that is super serious. The best thing about Skyrider was its first ten episodes when the show was trying to do something new on top of telling a serious story.

While watching Drive eversince, it became my Heisei 2 Phase Top Rider must be due to the Tridoron (visually modified 1992 Honda NSX). As years gone by, I tried to Google the cast mostly put of boredom (in Japanese) so here's what I found and gigs after Drive. Ryoma Takeuchi (Shinnoauke Tomari/Drive): main character in I LOVE YOU TILL THE WORLD ENDS aired in Nippon TV. Chris Peppler (Krim Steinbert/Belt-san): still works in FM radio and occasional host in NHK World Tokyo (since 2008, my favorite show for over a decade). Oh he was one of the main host for KZread Fanfest Japan 2015. Rio Uchida(Kiriko Shijima): launched her own KZread channel in 2020. Rei Yoshii(Rinna Sawagami): married Shigenori Yamazaki in 2016 but won't be able the bear children due to the bone marrow transplant. There are other old photos of her gravure days. Still active in gravure business. Kenta Hamano (Kyu Saijo): composes music using his nickname HAMAKEN (mostly were jazz) and still in the Japan music industry. Tsurutaro Kataoka( Jun Honganji): he occasionally guests in some reaction shows on the TV if I recall. But a rumor floats the he was affected by Covid 19 that I wish it's not true. Yu Inaba(Go Shijima/Mach): dude had many movie and TV appearances after the Drive gig. Fumika Baba(Medic): appeared in several TV dramas after Drive. This is my rantifull info I gathered.

I don't think I've ever seen a main Rider actor ever been involved in a LOT and plethora of content when his series was out like Ryoma Takeuchi himself. Kamen Rider Drive itself was the perfect return to form after the insanity which was Gaim and THIS is the way to go after a world-building ride like Gaim. Ghost had nothing to expand upon and its lessons from defeating the main villains really didn't make any sense and the character's motives such as Ryu Tenkuuji were questionable at best. Drive here was starting a formula that should've crashed and burned with a car rider but ended up becoming a celebration of what KR is, no matter what you ride or drive in this case. Even Stan Lee saw how amazing Ryoma is before his passing. Ryoma might be one of the only Rider actors to meet such a legend as Stan. He even reminisces of how amazing his time as Drive was, even till this day and that's saying a lot. The whole show is basically like Megaman/MM X. Robots hate humans because of something their creator was and this won't be the last robots vs humans season we'll have since Zero-One and Zenkaiger would touch upon that tho Zenkaiger, not so much tbh. And yes, that opening is badass. It's one show and game series never to be ignored, no matter how far-off the concept is to non-fans, it's still a world I still enjoy going back to. This is what happens when you dive into a show made by ppl from the rising sun who perfected the craft of mecha genre as a whole. They love this stuff. Who doesn't love robots? Fight For Everlasting Peace I say.

@@saiyaujeff8171 Sadly, Toei is Toei. Their boomer ways literally killed not just reunions in toku but also their animation side as well. They're just...strange and funny. Not in a hilarious but a 'Are you KIDDING ME' kinda way which I learned thanks to them going on a witch-hunt on KZreadrs who review Dragonball stuff and fan animations years ago.

Most definitely. The only way I would ever watch Ex-Aid again is if Shout! Factory puts it out on BD. I would have no issue watching Drive again once I've reviewed every series.

Kiva was kinda eh to me, honestly I wasn't a fan of the plot structures and the time travel plus for a show that Inoue wrote I was hoping it would be similar to Agito and Faiz. But I'll give it this the soundtracks and the suit designs were cool

Faiz's ending was already ruined before Kamen Rider 4 even came out, thanks to Heisei vs Showa that caused a number of retcons to Faiz's ending, it didn't help that Takumi was a major character in the movie and his struggles was a big side plot to the Heisei vs Showa riders nonsense. If anything KR 4 fixed what Hesei vs Showa ruined

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion. I watched up until episode 13 and couldn't get into it. I understand that things got better from around episode 20 but there was one part of ep 13 that didn't sit well with me that I gave up KR altogether. It's a shame as well because I was blown away by Gaim and I expected Drive to do the same but instead it ruined my interest in KR.

I really hated this show. It’s tied with Kabuto and Ex aid for my least favorite of the Heisei shows. It’s extra disappointing that it was written by Sanjo who wrote W which I liked though it was to be expected considering how awful Kyoryuger was and he worked on that too.
