You can probably just delete the water system to the TB, it doesn't get that cold down there.

@@jdmnuggets you won't loose cold start. The hot water only runs thought the TB so that it doesn't freeze in cold temps. Deleting it won't effect your cold start since the water flowing through it will be cold when you start the car anyway.

Yeah, i could remove it from the tune and set my own idle. But because this is built for my wife to daily drive and it already has a heavy duty clutch lol id rather it keep the oem idle feature. The iacv lines aren't really in the way it was more a problem with the rad lines, which is now sorted. If i was using the engine in another chassis for myself id probably delete iacv aswell as a/c😁

The idle would constantly be in cold start, 1500 rpm. I want it to idle high to warm up for her then return to normal idle speed of 750 to 950.

  • @jdmnuggets

Thank you!! Obviously an awd manual k series gearbox then all you need to do is shorten the prop shaft. Use the oem rd1 rear diff and viscous coupler. If you want a more aggressive set you can yous a later model crv or element rear diff, i believe its 2009 or newer. Or there is an option to use a land rover vc and pinned oem vc or use civic shuttle wagon awd gear.

Yeah well every place I looked didn't include everything you got and I mean we have the same chassis, so I figured I'd copy everything you did. I asked about the awd bracket but he said I wouldn't need it. I did have one question, what year Odyssey did your tb come from?

Looks like you're correct, not 100% sure if it works on both k20 and k24. Also you would need a fitting and line to feed water up to the heater line. Might be worth doing in the future to reduce the amount of bs i have going on at the lower rad 😂

@@jdmnuggets yeah i saw later you had sensors and stuff in the hole for the water line... so it might be a bit of f*cking about. It will work on both k20/k24 I'm pretty sure. People use RSX thermostats on tsx engines in the usa to get them to point down for conversion. Oh well something for the future if you have any issues. But if it works leave it :)

  • @jdmnuggets

It really depends where you are in the world. The rarity of an awd k box or manual k crv in nz coupled with expensive shipping made it more affordable to buy a running driving manual crv and use alot of the parts than to try ship one from Australia. Also buying a crv for parts means you get to drive it, test the gearbox etc. Having a spare k series for the throttlebody, extra coils, sensors, pipes, heater hoses , rad hoses ect etc is a big help even if the engine is a low hp eco version

But 4k is a bit much just to make sure I get a box

Yeah i got lucky my rd5 was cheap, was a farm hack near Wellington. Spare sensors is plus aswell. My rd5 was k20 so ended up with a cps sensor to suit the dc5 loom didn't have to re pin the k24 cps.
