Good show. I keep extra distributors on my self just cause it is usually the problem for misfire. Love the janky fuel line and air box mods.... all it was missing was some anime stickers. You probably already know. But for the newbies the other common b20 misfire issue is chipped valves. All in all, doing it yourself new headgasket water pump and belts ur into it a couple hundred bucks in parts.( us dollars) sweet buy. Was so excited to see that new content.

Lol i can try find some anime stickers. Yeah the valve thing... I've seen this on alot of US crv Facebook groups. Personally I've never seen it or heard of it happening here in new Zealand. Maybe its a non jdm engine issue or something to do with our fuel in nz? I will ask my honda technician mate. I should really do a leak down test etc, will try get the gear to do that before i tear it down. Thanks for watching and commenting

How did you know the misfire was the coil or ICM without testing spark? Could have been a bum cylinder. Could you check spark by using a jumper cable on each spark plug to ground it and look for blue sparking? Saw Scotty Kilmer do that.

There was a missfire when i drove it home, it died completely once hot, zero spark on all cylinders (wouldn't fire on any cylinder). because i have had several crv's with similar issues its almost always the icm or coil when you lose spark on all cylinders. normally you wouldn't just through parts at something to fix it but i had the parts on hand. You can for sure test spark that way, thanks for watching.

When you change multiple parts at one time, how do you know what the problem was?

You don't, thats why you should never buy a bunch of parts to through at a problem lol. I could test the coil resistance etc but because ive had this issue with a couple crv's and had a spare icm and coil it made sense to through them in being 99% sure it was one of the two causeing the missfire and it subsequently not being able to start. The fan switch is obvious as the fans weren't switching on with temp but would when cycling the ac on and off. This video is more of a found a f*cked crv lets see if we can fix it with some shit i have laying around than a how to diagnose 8 potential issues lol

Makes no sense. If the water pump couldn’t circulate water at all, how could you make it all the way home without coolant circulating in the engine?

Thats a good question lol. Maybe Convection? It was driven very short distances. Stick around for updates, will be pulling it apart to have a look.
