The ippons were great but I have to say the MVP of the video was the french commentary , even thought I dont speak french. Last few years the english commentary, without Neil Adams, was so bad I had to watch every stream on mute. Good to see that its getting better on 2022. Keep up the good work.

On Hashimoto's sode tsurikomi goshi, the opponent is not really bridging, he's on his side, there's no real pressure on his neck whil he's doing it. Bridging is forbidden because it's dangerous, not really because you're avoiding the ippon. Therefore, here an ippon would be unfair because he faught not to take the fall and did not andanger his spine while doing it. He just roatated enough to avoid ippon

"I'm gonna call it seoi otoshi, because his knees are on the ground..." Seoi means to carry on one's back, Tai means body, otoshi means to drop and nage means throw. That being said a kneeling Tai otoshi is just a tai otoshi that you dropped more than normal, which still is Tai Otoshi, call it kneeling Tai Otoshi if you may, but it definetely is not Seoi Otoshi.

First of all, I speak Japanese fluently and have lived here most of my life doing judo. The names of the techniques are not complete descriptions of what the techniques actually are. Think yama arashi for example. Also, what judoka in Japan call a seoi otoshi is not what the kodokan calls a seoi otoshi. In fact, I've never heard anyone call a something a seoi otoshi outside of what I call it. I've never heard of a kneeling tai otoshi (hizatsuki tai otoshi?). I'll make a video on it at some point, but a lot has to do with the attacking leg. It's somewhere between a seoi nage and a tai otoshi. This is what I mean: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aWxksNezoKe_fLw.html&ab_channel=FightingFilms You can see Iliadis do a standing version as well. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qGmirtKJj7e7hps.html&ab_channel=IvoStornaiuolo
