Thanks for your video. I love the style you're doing it. "I don't know, does this thing even have a name?"😅 The audio is just a bit unbalanced from time to time. (the audience is quite loud, I get that you want to show the atmosphere but a bit less would be better) Keep up the good work!

You can get Ippon landning on the side, and rollower is connected. No pause, you see it often in "dropp seonage"

Was some time of frame interpolation used for some of the slo-mo shots? The movement has artifacts similar to what I've seen in some ML-based frame interpolation systems before. Look at 1:30 - 1:34 for some of what I'm talking about.

@@JudoHighlights2015 Some Cuban sportsmen apply for asylum in different countries, just for better economic conditions. Most of them cannot represent their new country for a few years, especially if Cuba makes an official complaint. You can see this often in boxers, baseball, volleyball ... etc.

The story with Maret is that they were both really good friends, so he felt bad kicking his friend out the competition. And it might have put the other guys position on the French squad into question (as in he may have lost his place there).

Iartcev - Hashimoto was a bit odd ruling. I've seen ippons for less, but no waza-ari here. Also perhaps a bit surprised by the Egutidze - Nagasawa, I thought Nagasawa basically just jumped around the throw and Egutidze dipped back in the tatami, but it didn't have much to do with Nagasawa. Would've thought of it as no scores ruled. But with the Grigalashvili - Sasaki I'm actually willing to side to the ruling. It was very forceful, but it was through head to arm and up sitting. Like I didn't see the back or even the side dip to tatami. These top ippons videos are just a blast with the commentary and listing techniques, some background information on the judokas etc. And like someone commented on ground work, I'm pleased to see a couple of chokes and holds, these days it's way too focused on standing throws. Like there's barely a pretending attempt or it's just straight out called off when someone's knees hit the tatami. That's like half of judo taken out. Many judoka's game plan is fully on standing game and the matches become just that. Not that I didn't prefer a great standing ippon, but they're not even trying for ne-waza. Question: how do you tell apart ippon seoi nage and uchi makikomi in competition?

I read in a Spanish judo news site that Asley left Cuba because the government took some of his family’s land, among other “personal reasons” (likely his Romanian wife).

  • @D3Pinda

Thanks for these highlights videos man! I tried following along as best I could but still missed some of these somehow. Definitely thought that Iartcev's first throw was an ippon. If you look at the intensity of the throw and that Hashimoto is flat on his back after the throw it should be an ippon in my opinion. Then again the referees probably have a lot of different camera angles so they must be seeing something that we don't.

There is a Japanese boy Okinawa, but it's because it's better than the one that is evaluated and evaluated overseas, which is different from the good one. There are other islands of Hawaii. It is a waterfall, a valley, a volcano.
