The verdict is not a setback for women. It's victory for the survivors of DV and JD's is a survivor of DV. It's a setback for liar, manipulators, false accuses who decides to destroy someone's life and reputation with false accusations and lies. With this verdict the Metoo movement men too shall be considered as victims of DV. What AH hads harmed that true victims of DV would not be believed. It should not be believe all women or all men, don't dismiss the accusations outright. If someone comes forward with accusation it needs to be thoroughly investigated and the accused shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

From what I can see, that’s a pretty unanimous sentiment. In some small way I feel liberated and vindicated too. Johnny has done so much more than clear his name, he may not realise yet but him being courageous enough to put himself on the line in the name of truth has done more for victims, real victims, in a really meaningful way.

#metoo was aimed at sexual harassment in the workplace. It was meant to be a vehicle for ordinary women to tell what happened to them, and really just to show people how broadly this issue is spread across the world. Unfortunately what #metoo became was a platform for rich female celebrities to virtue signal and hijack the movement for their own benefit, leaving the people it was meant for without a voice, still. As Ben Chew said in closing..this was a case of #metoo without the #metoo....when someone bravely exposed Harvey Weinstein then lots of other victims came forward with their ‘he did that to you? He did that to me too’ stories, but no one, not one soul has come forward to say he’d harmed them in any way......

she wants to talk about “celebrity status”, but like they said AMBER IS A CELEBRITY TOO. if amber really had all that “evidence that was suppressed”, i feel like that would have been brought up during the case at some point during one of Amber’s tearless breakdowns.

Well she is going to have to prepare it again, the stuff she said about taking pictures for a year of DV victim. She only did it for five min, and today's technology allows us to use "meta data" which tell date time location etc etc. How the heck is she going to fake that, I would want to know too. LOL If only she had the dedication like Gone Girl, psychlol enough to go all the way in to hurt herself. Really bang her head again so tragic wall, it has to endure her tantrum.

"hE's A cElEbRiTy" - yes and when I first heard the news my thought was "ugh, major celebrities do some horrible stuff". It wasn't until later, when I heard all the stuff Heard had been doing that I started to doubt. (also Rittenhouse had a tearless breakdown and I 110% agree with the jury that he acted in bare minimum self defense, so that's not entirely a good barometer)

Yeah what’s even better is that after she came out and said she was a DV victim, Johnny Depp lost almost all of his support from the public while Amber was constantly being praised for speaking up. It wasn’t until 2019-2020, that she started losing some support after she was brought into her local police station and asked a couple questions. Later that night a police report was made public stating that she hit him (or something of the sort) and I believe she even admitted to hitting her previous boyfriend or husband too. But she still had majority of the support compared to JD. It wasn’t until the ACTUAL COURT CASE that she lost so much of the support. It had nothing to do with celebrity status, and everything to do with a sloppy legal team handling her case, and her horrible acting and “crying,” and perjury. Vasquez destroyed her lawyers.

I'm so done with Amber Heard from the moment she testified with her false, shitty acting, so this backlash. It's like damn if Johnny do, damn if he doesn't. They keep bringing up the UK case but unlike the US case, we can't go back and see how that went. What we know is that the judge was hired by the owner of the Sun, which Johnny sued, NOT AMBER, and that they didn't even consider any evidence JOHNNY and his team put forth. It relied heavily on Amber saying she didn't want monetary gain and LYING about donating money to charity. Now Elaine, who we all felt sorry for bEcAuSe ShE CrIed Boo-Hoo. She's as much of a liar as Amber is and I hope Karma guides them straight to Hell. Thank you for the video. Your takes are always fun to watch!

i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw ambers post on ig basically saying how her losing the case was a "setback for women". it's not a setback, its victory for those who have been through such tragedies. it's just showing justice can be given to any gender that has went through DV or any other type of AB. jd was a survivor who came out to speak nothing but the truth and has spoken up about all of ambers lies that he has been carrying on his back for the past 6 years, it was time for his justice. jd has been carrying all of the false lies, accusations, and false testaments that amber has committed. and it shouldn't be one sided, like believing all men or all women. it should be chosen to believe the person who wins the case. so, there is no setback whatsoever. it's a setback for liars, manipulators, abusers, and for people who accuse people of false and unimaginable actions for their own pleasure, fame, or money.

I think her legal team was good enough, you have to consider they had an impossible task because Amber Heard is such a terrible person. They even had to reuse every piece of "evidence" a thousend times because it was not worth anything. Also keep in mind Amber collected "evidence" 24/7 and all she could come up with is what we have seen on the trial, which basically means thats the "best" she had to offer and it was still not worth anything which as a result gives us the conclusion that the abuse never happened. Also remember the photo with the lines of coke? In the picture we saw a few lines of cocaine and a full glas of ?whiskey? Who pours in himself some whiskey, sets up some lines of coke and then just leaves the place? It doesnt make any sense. In the picture you can also see the cup of coffee Amber seems to use on a daily basis. Then the other big "evidence" video, where Johnny hits the cupboard and she was filming it and trying to hide the camera; you can also see the cup of coffee she is using on a daily basis. What I am trying to say is: Even the best legal team could not handle the problem, because there wasnt anything to work with. And probably all the evidence she collected was most likely more harming to herself than to Johnny.

If someone's trying to say DV victims are the same as her, that's an insult. I don't get this whole "setting domestic victims back" crap. The victim won. Depp was abused, silenced for years, was vilified by the very person abusing him. Gimme a break, this was a win for abuse victims everywhere. Amber separating victims into genders is a disgraceful way of shielding herself from accusations. Anyone can be a victim and anyone could be an abuser. The facts and evidence is what matters most, and justice prevailed in this case. Coming out of this it really seems like Ms. Heard's continuing arguments are purely based on emotion. She's *continuing* to play the "We as women are being oppressed" card to attempt to sway people into believing her. Also, it's *awfully* convenient that there were "mountains of evidence" that were "dismissed"... I wonder why? Maybe because it was doctored photos, screengrabs instead of original photos, etc... And the fact that media here in New Zealand is continuing to show bias in the reporting of this case - focusing **heavily** on the texts Depp sent while ignoring the holes in Heard's story, the constant changes in her stories, the *obviously* doctored/edited images or the multiple times she was caught either lying under oath or accusing others of lying under oath or insinuating/accusing these people of "coming out of the woodwork" for fame or to be on Depp's payroll... But no, of course it's the jury's fault for getting swayed! Of course it's the fault of the crowd of Depp supporters in the courtroom! Of course it's the fault of social media for ripping on her (Not saying I support it, but she does conveniently ignore that this happened to Depp as well in the past)... When everything else is a problem, it's generally a good sign that you're probably the problem. That ex-NFL guy making the comment about looking in a mirror was spot on. It really pisses me off that Amber Heard is taking this loss and calling it a "setback for all women". It's the same argument our media is toting here in New Zealand. The idea that because a woman lost a defamation case based on domestic abuse/violence accusations irregardless of whether or not she is actually guilty is a setback for women? It's just an argument that conflates gender with guilt. It's an expression of a mindset that says "Men can't be abused - they're *always* the abusers". This mindset leads to exactly what Mr Depp called out - the idea of being "Guilty until proven innocent" in the eyes of not only the law, but the media as well. It's really worrying that the current pattern with regards to abuse/rape accusations is that women are "Innocent until proven guilty (but probably still innocent because women can't be abusive or rapists)" while men are "Guilty until proven innocent (but still guilty because men are violent rapists)". If anything, this case has had a positive outcome in showing a few things: 1) Men can be abused. 2) #BelieveAllWomen - while a statement with good intent - is potentially dangerous and can be weaponized. 3) Liars who make up abuse stories and such can get brought to justice. 4) There are some serious flaws - particularly in the media - when it comes to reporting on abuse allegations and such ("Guilty until proven innocent") and false allegations can seriously damage or even ruin someone's career and life. At the end of the day, abuse is abuse. Period. And Ms. Heard was found to have fabricated most (if not all) of her abuse allegations. I stand by the Jury's decision based on what I have seen of this case with my own eyes and ears. If **anything** the "setback to women" has come from Ms. Heard's own actions. Women have fought for years to be believed and she's just put all that at risk by lying under oath and making up abuse and rape stories. She has done more to damage the #MeToo movement than she has to help it - which is ironic considering she called herself the "face" of the movement in her op-ed and is (was?) an ACLU ambassador.

In all the videos I’ve watched about the trial, your comment is by far the most logical and absolute. I agree with you 101%. I had been a huge fan of Both Heard and Depp. And when they got together I was like “ooooh yay”. I loved Amber because of her seemingly bubbly personality and honestly how gorgeous she was. And Depp, well I grew up watching him. I fell in love with him when I was 8 and had watched Crybaby for the first time. It wasn’t until last year, when all this he said/she said started happening. And after listening to her tapes with HER saying the things she did (and I personally used to have that mindset that it was acceptable for women to physically strike men), I knew right away, she was the abuser. The things she said were things I used to say. So for me, it really was a ‘takes one to know one’ type of situation. And the fact that she keeps pushing, it makes me feel embarrassed for her. Her pride and ego run/ruin her life. It’s sad to see. I hope she learns. That’s all I can say.

#Believeallwomen is such a wrong and hurtful statement. It encourages to treat women stories with larger credit because they are women. Facts, evidence, creditable witnesses. These are supposed to be used as confirmation tools, not the content of space between legs ffs. I agrer with you mate, but the way you described that second statement is insufficient to say the least. No good intent in it....

If this trial proves anything, it's that women are for from powerless. Consider the fact that it took Depp six years and a substantial amount of money to clear his name after being falsely accused of domestic violence. I think Amber was just abusing the fact that women are finally being taken seriously to try to destroy a man's life for no particular reason. Because let's face it, she was being taken very seriously until it turned out she had been lying the whole time.

I'm a survivor of sexual abuse in a relationship. It lasted for five MONTHS, and it was 13 YEARS ago. I've seen therapists and been on medication and talked to other survivors and yet. If I was face to face with that man today, after all this time, and after "only" (bad choice of word, sorry) a short period of time in that relationship, I would panic, I'd freeze, I'd be 100% unable to meet his eyes and I'd most likely have a massive panic attack and not be able to say a word. I was a victim for a shorter period of time than Amber claims, and it was longer ago than she claims it was for her, and I'd break down completely. She looked at him, she laughed in court, she almost got into his car at one point and was laughing about that when she realized oh the next car is mine. Fuck right off you liar. You're not a survivor of sexual abuse, or physical abuse, or mental abuse. Amber Heard is the one who has set us women and true survivors back, not Johnny Depp.

I love how she says it's a setback for women, but when he accused Johnny of domestic violence, because it was the typical case of man beating woman, he instantly became guilty until proven innocent (the opposite of what should be the case of innocent until proven guilty), which is the typical corrupt mindset that this whole uprising of women caused throughout the years, even to this day, when sexism is way more scarce and not all women have had or claim to have had this type of experience in a relationship.
