John Pena and his International fleet of custom trucks, including his 1973 Travelall

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Built To Cruise Episode #30 John Pena (IHBuilder) tells us his story of wanting to be different from the custom truck community and how he started building International trucks.
John started becoming interested in custom vehicles at a young age when he started building model cars. Turning his skills to bicycles, John transformed a Diamondback Viper into a full Lowrider bike.
As he got older, John began customizing trucks and SUVs. After being featured in numerous magazines, John looked for something that no one else was building. He came across an International pickup that grabbed his interest and began transforming it into a work of art.
After building a single cab International pickup, John began looking for an International Travelall SUV. He located a 1973 Travelall that was in good shape and began slowly customizing it to his liking.
Now that his Travelall is nearing completion, he has begun to introduce his son into the International community by acquiring a project the both of them can build together.

I love '60 era Lincoln Continentals but they are pretty popular these days. Mine is blue which I love. I'll try to change it up some to make it a tad different than the typical black Lincoln lol. #ProjectSmuggerlsBlues

Thanks for all the love man! This is a kick-ass BtC ya'll. I saw the truck at LST 2020 and loved it. John is a good dude. He helped ship me a '65 Lincoln dash a few years back from The Holly Boys. Good dude!

Like stories like that. Trucks look sweet now. They key to accessorizing is to know when to stop.. Original never goes out of style..

@@BuiltToCruise totally worth it in my book... He looks talented enough to squeeze a couple of extra ponies from what is usually referred to as a boat anchor... Can't wait to see the utility truck

nice Travelall being different is the best, nice color too. My 74 International Pickup Custom 100 pickup i/2 ton has the original build AMC 401 V8 in it. Truck very nice like your Travelall. Looking for a better starter than the one in it. Had two versions that year.... naturally mine is the more scarce starter. If you know some one that has what I need please let me know.

(Nice paint and hounds tooth ), I may be considered purist but the international 345/360 is the most dependable motor ever in existence .and the international brand , the best diesel , OR gas hands down! She deserves better than an LS , should melt it down and build a nice set of rims.

The Travelall has the original 345 in it. His green truck has an LS swap, but it was built years back when LS swaps were starting to be a trend.

Great story, my girlfriends son sells arts for Jeep J series trucks CJ Forward Control old Willys wagons Willys trucks and those Wagoneers with the wood grain sides. You wouldnt believe what people pay for original parts for these dam things but theres just no aftermarket for them much like the Travelalls, Theres no LMC truck magazine for a 70s Travelall

That's the only reason more of these are not built. Scarcity of parts. A lot of stuff may have to be fabbed.
