Dave Shulman Building SEMA Dreams With Ford And His Krew Kut Obsession

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

BUILT TO CRUISE EPISODE #23 Dave Shulman tells his story of building full custom Ford trucks, his success and setbacks, and how his dream of owning the custom Krew Kut dually came true.
As the founder and Godfather of Acrophobia Car and Truck club, David has built many legendary trucks, including Catch-22, Project Insomnia, Precious Metal F-350, and now his new SEMA project NAVIH8R with Phat Phabz.
Hear how he started in the custom truck world and begin customizing his F-150 before eventually turning it into widely recognized Catch-22. That truck began a foundation that would lead him to be able to buy a truck from Ford for only one Dollar! Project Insomnia was further proof that David was a custom truck builder with a vision.
After a small hiatus, Dave Shulman returned to the custom truck world with a full custom F-350 built by Phat Phabz in Oklahoma aptly named Precious Metal. While building this truck, David came upon the opportunity to buy the famous Krew Kut dually which had been restored by Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage.
After being rejected by Ford to build an Expedition for SEMA 2019, David Shulman purchased a Lincoln Navigator and, with only 12 miles on it, sent it to Phat Phabz in Oklahoma for it to become Project NAVIH8R. With a multitude of sponsors onboard, including Hiland Dairy who makes Peanut Butter Chocolate Milk, David will be debuting his body dropped Navigator at SEMA 2019! Watch Phat Phabz on KZread for behind the scenes of the build.
Hear David's advice on how with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, you can accomplish your goals.

I first saw his blue F-150 at Slamfest in Tampa back in 2000 and remember it exactly as shown here bagged on 20's. I was in Harsh Reality at the time (Brevard County) and we showed next to Acrophobia and got a chance to meet Dave there....awesome to hear his story here and remember the truck to this day.

Cool stories. Had my fun time customizing a 88 Chevy Astro minivan. Lowered it as far as we could, took the v6 out and stuck a nice v8 in it, went through 3 engines cuz I drove like a hoolagin lol. It was a cargo version so a lot of area to paint graffix similar to he had on the truck he told the story about getting water in the fuel then winning best in show after turning up late except we did a 2 tone with silver on the bottom and blue on top separated by tear effect and graffix all through the blue. Being a cargo van it was bare inside so we found a full interior and put it so it was really nice inside. It turned out pretty sick for a minivan lol. Fairly quick with the built motor. And a head turner everywhere it went. Daily drove it for 5 years. Still miss today but it ended up getting thrashed by a owner after I passed it on and friends saw it in the junkyard. I wish I could go back and never sell it cuz made so many memories with it. Just driving it with the power it had and how loud and good it sounded we raged that thing non stop all over south Florida lol. Had so much fun with it!

Seemed like such a genuine guy having literally met him by the hotel coke machine an hung out with him for maybe an hour in the parking lot knowing he had the hottest truck in the scene he was super cool an showed/told about catch22 to me as if it was his first time {even though im sure he was sick of telling an showing it by that point}.
