Truly one of the most underrated Middle Weight Champions of all time. Never got knocked out, I think I saw him slightly hurt against Thomas Hearns, barely noticed. Left the Sport on his terms never came back to fight anyone. Still has his mental health and Never ducked anyone.

When talking about G.O.A.T. middleweights.....Sugar and Marvelous certainly are at the top of the heap....and after posting over 350 vintage title fights from The Golden Age of Boxing (1964 - 1995)....we certainly consider Marvelous as the only boxing legend of the middleweight division from that era.

This guy is the epitome of a true boxer, his skill and modesty stand as a great example that was seldom, if ever, followed. The hype and trash talking ruin it for me now. Mr. Hagler did his talking in the ring and he will always be the best to me and what a damned handsome man too ( no I’m not gay before anyone asks) and more than worthy of the name Marvellous. Thanks for it all Marvin.

We at www.imasportsphile.com responsible for posting this video along with some 400 more vintage boxing videos....consider Marvin Hagler to be one of the Legends of Boxing who came out of the Golden Age of Boxing from 1964 to 1995.....and we agree with your assessment of him. And by the way, from our standpoint as an accredited Sportsphile.....we are of the opinion that the only way a champ loses his title is by KO....TKO.....or serious disfiguration of the Champ's face....and Sugar Ray Leonard did none of those.....and by the way, Leonard is also a Legend of Boxing too.

Karl Convey, click imasportsphile.com/category/boxing/ for hundreds of vintage world championship title fights from the golden age of boxing (1964 - 1995)....for your comment helps make my case based on being in the process of posting a total of 620 title fights from 30 years ago (and more)....for it is our contention that dang near every weight division hasn't been the same as they were in the golden age....not featherweight, lightweights, welterweights, middleweights, light heavyweights or heavyweight....and that is why you need to bookmark our site....and not rely on utube because we have 100 different utube channels under different names that we use as "video weigh stations" for the 2300 hrs. of vintage sports, comedy and music from this awesome era....cuz if you don't bookmark us and return often....you will surely miss some "nuggets of gold" from our treasure chest of vintage boxing memories.

Boxing hasn't been the same since....not just the middleweight division....for Hagler was a product of The Golden Age of Boxing....from 1964 - 1995.....and nothing in the sport has gotten better since then.....for in our opinion at ImaSportsphile web page, where we have posted over 350 vintage title fights from that era....cuz if Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considered the best since 1995....then that just goes to support your comment....for had he fought during the Golden Age....he would have been beaten by the likes of Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Benetiz, Arguello, Chavez and on and on.

Ridiculous to say his reputation was tarnished because of the fight with Duran. Yeah, Marvin maybe cld have put his stamp on him better but Duran was arguably the greatest lightweight ever! Sure he was fighting way above his best weight but he knew how to fight and Marvin beat him. So kudos to Duran and another victory for the Marvelous one.
