I fell in love with this song back in 1974 when I was pregnant with our first daughter. My husband was a truck driver and we lived, briefly, in Colorado. My husband of 43 years has now been gone for 3 years and that daughter is now going to be 44 years old. This song still brings tears to my eyes when I hear it.

Just had to say hello -- we have a bit in common. I'm sorry to hear that you lost your husband and I hope your years together were wonderful. My son was born in April 1974 and will turn 46 in a couple of day. My second husband -- not my son's dad -- passed away in 2016 and I can't believe it'll be 4 years. 2020 would have been our 35th anniversary and the song we danced to at our wedding was "Annie's Song". All my best wishes to you.

I had joined the Air Force in 1979 and after basic training and tech school, I boarded a Greyhound bus all of 19 years old feeling proud and strong all decked out in my dress blues.. As we passed the fallow winter fields and pine trees along the way on that cold gray winter afternoon, I remember staring out the bus window somewhere around Aiken SC and began to hum 'Home Again' to myself. To my surprise and delight, the elderly lady seated next to me began to sing the words. I turned and smiled and she said "I'm on my way home too, and yes it does feel good". That was 41 years ago and it seems like yesterday.

My Mom taught me to play guitar when I was a boy. We lived in a farming community in a big house with nine kids. This was the first song I ever learned and performed in front of my family. Many times my Mom and I would sit in our old house with a fire softly burning, and supper on our cast iron cook stove singing this song together while I played. It shall always serve as a reminder to what what a loving old soul my mother was. I will never ever forget those special moments we shared...this song was written for us. Rest in peace Mom and thank you John Denver for bringing us this special song.

This is a truly beautiful piece from a master of styles. Denver somehow managed to strike that perfect chord of moderation. Whether you are liberal, or conservative, his music always rang true, and it was guided by his love of the outdoors, his care for the environment, and his desire for us to love one another. A true poet and patriot, and while he is not forgotten, we will miss his presence forever. Thank you, John.

What a compliment it must be to a singer like John Denver, when the audience sings his song back to him, they are relaxed, happy, and know every single word. We saw that brief expression of delight when they began singing. Can't buy that, it is priceless.

My older brother introduced me to the music of John Denver at the age of about 10. Now 57 and still love his music. Even managed to get me parents to take me when I was about 10 to 15 to 3 -4 of his concerts when he came to Perth, Australia. He seems to be sadly forgotten now, But he was and still is awesome. RIP John Denver.
