JOHN DEERE 300 GARDEN TRACTOR FIRST START | KOHLER K341 AQS

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

After a ground up rebuild of this engine, I can finally say this rebuild has been a success! This engine has was pretty straight forward to assemble
and get running again. Everything around the engine is very visible and well-placed. The carburetor to governor setup is very accessible and the coil can be easily changed on the opposite side if needed. The K341 is currently one of my favourite engines!!
So far I have rebuilt two Kohler K Series engines and one of them has been resealed. These engines were made in the 70's, and they're built so well that many original engines are still running until this day.
The Kohler K series engines are known for their strong cast iron block with aluminum internals, flat head and simple air cooling. If you ever stumble upon a K341 or any K Series Engine, I would recommend you pick it up and rebuild it if necessary.

Thank you very much John. I had to give it a little bit more life and with the yellow outline I will be able to see the symbols better. Regards -Andreas

Is that an NOS hour meter? That's the original style of hour meter that a 300 would have had when new. I like it! It's nice to be able to "start over" counting the hours when the engine has been rebuilt. Sounds like you have a winner there, gotta love when everything goes smoothly after a rebuild. Well done!

Hey Michael, This is an original hour meter and it was previously on the parts 317 I had. It had about 800hrs on the clock and I opened it up like a swiss watch and turned back the gears...but don't tell anyone haha! Yes, I thought it would be nice to give the JD300 a fresh start after a full rebuild:D I really like this 1 cylinder engine!! It sounds even better than the KT17 in my opinion. Thank you so much!!

@@WorkshopRebuild That's a neat idea! I'm too paranoid to open one of those meters up...because there's a good chance it wouldn't go back together. lol

@@MichaelTJD60 It's not the easiest thing to do, but it's possible. You need very small screwdrivers and a lot of patience! Maybe you'll try it out once :)
