Only difference at least Cena did have more of a supporting cast than Roman. Meaning Cena had people who felt just as important around him and he wasn’t the only one who u would look at as the star. Unlike Roman who when u see his opponents u know Romans going over.

I already am, I liked Cena growing up but never fully appreciated him. As an adult now, I miss the hell outta him and always mark out when he makes a special appearance.

People don't really understand how Cena was the Real Face of WWE - he brought more people to the fanbase than anyone else all around the World.

Such a stand up thing for Cena to do for a fellow worker and even more stand up for Tyrus to clearly realize this gift, embrace it AND pay it forward in his actions as a person! When I was in Iraq in 2009, Cena and the WWE came over on a USO tour. Cena was in the gym with the soldiers working out meeting everyone. Dudes always been a class act. He’s done over a thousand make a wish events too. Never cared for him as a wrestler. Always thought he was a decent guy.

Hear hear! I don't think Cena will return for any "runs", but he'll make the occasional appearance to help put others over. I've never been a fan of Cena as a wrestler (I was a boo'er and "Cena Sucks" person), and he's not a good actor in my opinion, but as a person, there are few better than him! Complete stand-up guy with heaps of integrity and genuine care for others!

People get annoyed that Cena got the mega push for nearly 20 years, but he deserves it. Nobody else could carry the company, sell the merch he does, get a crowd reaction like he does, and do as much charity as he does. And the longevity too. Isn't that only time he got really hurt that time before he made the surprise royal rumble comeback?

Mad respect 👏🏻 He gets memed a lot and his gimmick may be a bit silly, but behind the scenes Cena often gets respect from fellow athletes, there's been countless stories praising him & his work ethic - not to mention the fact that he holds the record for the most Make a Wish appearances.

I remember when Austin left, rock went Hollywood, and taker got hurt. Cena literally carried the company on his back, and continued doing it for years. Lost wives, friends, and family all for Vince. I hope he never forgets that, and any time Cena needs anything, Vince or Shane/Steph are right there for him. Most humble guy in the business

Regardless of how people feel about Cena in character, the man himself is one of the best things to happen to the WWE. He is one of the handful if not possible the only guy who didn't pull the ladder up from behind him, but instead stretched a hand out to those next in line. In wrestling these guys play version of themselves turned up to 11. I really believe this is true of Cena. Love him or hate him.

I used to be tired and bored of Cena around this time but if I had known about this back then my like and respect for him would have been restored.

Met Cena when I was working on the changeover crew at the key bank center in Buffalo (for wwe we would set up the chairs then wait for the show to end to take them down). He showed us more respect than any other person in the building, including coworkers from other departments. As I walked out of the back of the arena to go to my training session, there was an absolute wall of people I had no hope getting through. Seeing this after already signing autographs for seemingly forever, he turned around and walked back towards the crowd who all came over to him, clearing me a space to leave. Dude just loves being nice

Cena and HHH get a lot of hate for not “putting guys over” when they were also right in the middle their career. They both did way more for people than internet fans give credit for. They weren’t perfect but their mind for the business is 1000x better than their keyboard critics lol

Cena needs to go into the Hall of Fame as soon as possible, not a single worker who’s ever worked in the company with Cena has a bad thing to say about him, even Punk and Mox who hate the company. The guy is/was a shining light of professional excellence and highest order of work ethic.

Cena won the humanitarian award for a reason... He is a genuine person that does things intentionally for entertainment purposes for us the fans. Wether it be any of his gimmicks, movies, matches, or promos, being arguably one of the greatest wwe superstars and pretty much a pop culture figure. And???? Also being the only celebrity in the world to grant more wishes than anyone in "Make a Wish" history (650). Love him or hate him, he is a true example of what a human being should be!

truly the best ever. there are more aspects to this than just what the fans see.

I've been watching wrestling all my life and even though today's wrestling is not as good as the attitude era.. John Cena was never my favorite but he was the guy that I had the most respect for due to the fact incidents like this but do you know that John Cena did over 300 make a wish appearances meaning that kids that had a fatal ill requested the last wish was to meet John Cena and he always came through.. I think he even holds the record for most requests in the Make-A-Wish foundation which is a beautiful foundation and such a really good cause.. and John Cena stuffed up every moment.. I don't particularly hate John Cena but I respect them as a human being and he has all my respects and what he does for the kids even though a lot of guys hate him you can't help but respect it... thank you John Cena for everything you have done for your fellow human beings

Met Cena a few years ago in Wichita Falls, TX after a match. Was working nights at hotel they were staying and came in was completely a gentlema, signed me and my brother a few things. Such a great guy

I love John Cena. He does so much for Make a Wish. Stories like this just make me appreciate him even more.

It sounds like, from shoots and stories, Cena would bury people back in his earlier main event days, not out of maliciousness, I think he just wanted to make sure to get himself over. As he got older, he got more secure with himself and tried to make up for it by helping others. So all around, a good dude. All the younger up and comers now just talk about how great Cena is and how he's always willing to do business.

cant hate anyone for being ruthless in the beginning. you've got a hundred guys around you every day trying to get over and would sell their grandma to headline a Mania. if he was like that in the beginning it's the reason he made it to the top because there was a brief time he was on the chopping block and about to lose his job.

See, I don’t understand the hatred towards Cena! I maybe biased because Ive a major, major fan of his since about 2004; however… Stories like these prove that John is a selfless man who cares about each performer to the best of his ability. That’s why he’s the GOAT!

Ken Anderson also said John Cena and Orton had something to do with him being fired. So... its a mix for me.

Yeah, I do like that he is a champ in NWA tho. He is pretty decent in ring and his work on news tv is good

That is an incredible story.

I witnessed Cena in ovw, he was so eager to learn and was humble when he came back. Even those six flags shows. He came through once as still his rapper gimmick, but was still cool.

Cena was really amazing not just inside but outside the ring as well.

And it didn’t affect the epic match Cena and Rock had Fun story!

I think we knew cena was always a good guy in the back to the other stars and a leader. Of course he’s the top guy in his time and knew that so always showed respect to the others. Could’ve easily been another early 90’s ego maniac HBK. Credit where credit is due. You the man cena. Look at his Best friend randy what he says about him.

Tyrus is awesome he actually graduated here in Nebraska from University of Nebraska Kearney! I have a UNK Magazine with him on the cover with the NWA title! He had a huge ceremony in Kearney Nebraska a month or 2 ago celebrating his achievements 😁

A lot of conflicting stories about cena backstage which I believe both sides to be true but still what a guy

I guess that sometimes he did have an ego and get his personal feelings derail some people's careers, but unlike other people he tried to get it in check and help out the younger talent when he could.

There’s never a bad story about cena a real stand up guy

I hear stories of John Cena all the time and this is another example of what true greatness is. Personally I would rather watch Flair, Rock, Stone Cold, MJF, or AJ, but as far as being a quality dude, Cena is one of the best

I used to not like Cena (his character) when he was 1st introduced as a heel. But hearing about things, many numerous things like this how 🤔 could you not like him and his dedication to his craft and how hard of a worker he is.

@@factteller9640 If cena was champion now no one would complain. Cena was burying talent prior to summerslam 2014 when he lost to lesnar, 2011-2014 was peak super cena year. Even after losing to the rock at wm 28 they had him mowing down other wrestlers for years

Honestly the crowd just plays up to the camera. I’ve seen Cena live, un-televised and he gets the loudest pops of the night. There were fans chanting “Let’s go Cena!/Del Rio Sucks!” at a live event in the UK and you could see Cena was loving it. Chanting “John Cena Sucks!” in tune with his theme song became just as big a phenomenon as chanting “You Suck!” at Kurt Angle.

Never heard this story before, makes you say wow.

A lot of people have criticized cena for being a not so nice person in the past, but theres also so meny stories like this of him doing something good to help someone "beneath him" in or out of the wwe ladder.

You know you go to a video of that moment where he went out there, then look in the comment section it's like the first three comments in most every video is I came here because of this interview.

Honestly John Cena is one the very few people on Top you never hear bad stories about! Huge Respect for that men.
