The way Jocko looks at him in the beginning while explaining his childhood, I've NEVER seen Jocko look so emotionally invested in this man's hardships growing up. Jocko smiled so softly to this man. And showed empathy in ways I've never seen from him. That was special ♡
I think I comment every time. I am recovering from a stroke.(still) I drifted off, but I so needed to hear this story today. Thanks. I am back at it.

I'd heard of Chad from the amazing work he and his peers did, that the State Dept, etc refused to do following the botched pull-out, but I'd never seen an interview with him. What an absolute gem! It's guys like Chad, Mike Glover, Jocko, etc, etc that gives me faith that the US can and will pull-through these very trying times. God bless every one of these grade-A badasses with hearts of gold! Hearing their stories never fails to motivate me to push myself to become the best I can be, and then some...
I've had two buddies from Louisiana. Both could make me laugh no matter the mood I was in and somehow always smiled no matter the mood they were in. Loved those guys. It's been over a decade since I've seen either one......I think Chad just convinced me to take a road trip. WeEeatenGAtorDowwwnDatDareDockBoi!

What an amazing and inspiring story. Chad has lived a few lifetimes already, experiencing tremendous highs and lows. I will be looking to support Mighty Oaks…
Thank you for exposing me to the lives of the Warriors who stand the post
Amazing podcast, stories, and overall conversations. Thank you to Echo, Jocko, and Chad. I hope everyone has an awesome week and continues to push forward with compassion and kindness.

What a cool dude. Deadly t-shirt, "Stay Dangerous".
Love this guy's story; positivity, ultimate dedication and motivation. Truly tip of the spear, thanks. Lots of superheros in this story.
This is an amazing life story. Respect from Romania 🇷🇴
Great podcast... as always. So happy Chad and his wife were able to reconcile. It was a beautiful thing to watch this man humbly admit to the mistakes he's made in his marriage and then turn it around. It was also awesome to hear about his role in helping to save our allies... I followed the surrender of Afghanistan, and like most Americans, was thoroughly pissed off. I remember watching Glen Becks podcast requesting donations and writing letters to my state representative asking why Glen Beck was essentially doing the job of the state department. As we get closer to the election year I think Jocko should revisit the whole surrender of Afghanistan debacle, specifically the abandoning Bagram air base. Help people remember why we can't afford another 4 more years of the garbage administration currently in office.
Professor robichaux! Been waiting for this day!
God bless Chad and his family.
You told it like it is, please don’t apologize. Our people need to hear this from an industry expert.
3:10:02 Echo’s passion for the nearly frozen RTDs is realll. 😂
This is a great show. Much respect for our military. There is a give send go site for third battalion Ranger Matt Small who died recently. His widow has seven young kids including a just-born baby girl. Matt was an amazing man and I know this community would pray for his family left behind or even go to the site to help bless the Smalls. Thanks so much to Chad and Jocko for great podcast. Will buy Chad’s book.
Jocko right on brother. Excellent video thanks.
Thank you for bringing his glory to light Jocko.
0331 and 10-year cop here…. Listening to the physical struggle over the shotgun on the domestic call was intense
Funny, in 89’ I had basic training at Ft Lewis. We had like WWII barracks. But Mt Rainer was beautiful and there were seemingly endless rifle ranges! One of my favorite times in the Army. Just a 31L cable dog.
Outstanding podcast as always.
Jocko I must apologize. I talked shit about some of the prices on your products. The truth is you guys deserve and earn every dollar you can get. Thank you for your podcast, products and most of all thank you for your service.
Chad is the type of guy that true leaders are made of. A true patriot warrior and hero 💯

Jocko and Echo, I've been following your podcast for a couple of years years and I'm sure others have asked as well -- more time stamps would be really really, helpful and attract a larger audience for the podcast as well.

Awesome podcast as usual. Semper Fi.
At 15:30, RE: the assertion that a Marine recruit's background does not matter... it's funny this sentiment shows up in the films Jarhead and Full Metal Jacket, e.g.: the drill instructor telling the recruits they are all "equally worthless" regardless of skin color.

I find it really hard to process all the evil that has been mentioned in this episode. From Chad's past to the taliban... I'm not sure how I should process that without developing hatred and resentment

There are only degrees of good and degrees of bad. No one is greater than 95% good throughout a whole lifetime of living. Most all evil is learned. Indeed the teachers of wickedness are a higher % of pure evil. As I've taught my young: "the best people you know are capable of the most terrible things you can imagine. In the same way the most evil people you know can possibly do an amazing thing for someone else." Now, all that aside and actual genetic socialopath has a highly different brain. In theory they are capable of good yet incapable of feeling bad for doing what you and I would consider evil/wrong. Terrorists are most often psychopaths. They meaning they were made evil and have an extremely small chance of evil becoming "a good person." There are many complex reasons why that is, yet it for sure is that way. Life is a balance of good days and bad one, good people, better people m, worse people and much worse/terrible people. All we can do is be our best and remember that it is impossible to measure a soul. This all being said, be good to yourself brother.

@@batjackjohnson252 Thank you for response. After thinking about it a little I realized that my pre-christian self did some pretty nasty things. You're right, everyone has bad and good within them. I come from a Muslim background and I'm familiar with certain aspects that lead terrorists to that path, and I don't think they necessarily have to be psychopaths to become terrorists. "Normal" people became terrorists. As Jordan Peterson says, we all have a stalin inside of us.
Hey when are you ever going to have on like Marcus Luttrell or Don Mann? Those would be two awesome interviews I would love to see

it's like delivering the mail in little rock ar. but we didn't get no bad ass training.. I go out and start my truck, the bullets start to come in like mortar rounds, I called it steal rain. they would hit cars in the parking lot where we parked at to get our trucks and drive across the street to the post office load up mail for morning delivery or pick up for night and read bags . there was always a truck driver screaming that their car got hit . and sure enough they would have new bullet holes in car trunk roof and hood ,, some wouldn't even start... then I would go pick up quarter mill. in red bags in the freaking hood , so u know I smoked weed going up and down the road in a mail truck to keep my mind right. I would just act like it's a normal thing like everyone else lols it was intense , u wouldn't think a mail job could be so dangerous but really they can be... shootings ever week and most nights were common down by the postoffice in North Rock then u have to go into the city the "hoods" they call um.. I didn't realize I was being shot at for a while then I was screaming to jesus for the bullets to stop flying my first shootout
could you invite one technical guy from NSA or military would be quite interesting, not all of us are build for combat but still want to participate.
My Son just finished His 1st full year as an Enlisted Marine...Soooo, hope rational minds step in to save the day, stop the corruption/"money washing" through proxy wars, & negotiates a peace deal in this BS in 🇺🇦, & keeps service men & women out of the line of fire, until its To Defened Our Home/Way of Life, but until then, "Fingers Crossed, Prayers Sent Up, & Hope for the best, huh!?!"....Thank BOTH of U, & The guests 2 Sons/Family for Your Service #ThankYou!!!!!
Which JSOC unit was he in? The Intelligence Support Activity aka Army of Northern Virginia?
Anyone catch why his son was kicked out of the Military with an Other than Honorable ? Mentioned some acronym I don't know, can anyone explain?

What will be the future of Afghanistan? I am glad some of the allies we left behind are being saved... The sadness of our governments betrayal. And I wonder how many Bin Ladens did our leadership create, because if the Taliban is defeated internally by the locals, I would not be surprised if we had few friends left. But good on the community trying to put right what our leaders above us made wrong. Love listening to this stuff. Be you Operator or regular joe, it all matters.
They made the Thanos character after Jocko
And people still ask us today what is wrong with us and why we would volunteer to fight. Hearing what they were doing to the yazîdî and others there, absolute evil.
