I had to pause this multiple times I was crying so hard I couldn't see it. Phoenix is a hero, and his Oscar speech changed many lives, including mine. I have up meat products 3 yrs ago & now dairy....black coffee, dry Cheerios, plain oatmeal, no cheese or yogurt etc . So little I can do but it's something to me. And as a mother, thank you Joaquin♥️

Phoenix is a good actor but why do people think this gives him an elevated posture with regard to moral issues? Like so many in Hollywood he chooses the most frivolous of issues to speak out upon; and his argument unravels when anyone looks at it seriously. Would he make a speech at the Oscars condemning the hunting of seals by the Aleut and Inuit of Alaska - no because that would be racist. Has he considered how unethical it is to own pets in the cramped environment of a city where their freedom of movement, freedom of feeding is controlled, and where their natural behaviours and instincts are altered to meet the wishes of the owner?

60 seconds is a long time to be in fear and pain that doesn't have to happen!!!

This was beautiful. My heart breaks every day for all the animals being exploited and murdered.

As a Hindu, I appreciate this gesture. I hope more people are enlightened about this.

Veganism is easy compared to the suffering, torture and torment these beautiful living creatures are subjected to.

You have never worked on a farm. 80% of a farmer's effort goes into raising crops to feed his animals and the other 20% goes into directly caring for and handling his livestock. And the difficulty of the effort is unimaginable by the standards of any city-dweller. It entails 14 hour work days of hard manual labour under work conditions so appalling that his health is invariably compromised - his last 10 years of life is endured breathing with spent lungs and crippling arthritis. Moreover he probably started this work at the age of 5 years old. No one considers the price paid by human endeavour that is the backdrop to this story - most certainly not the Hollywood celebrity whose soft hands have never done anything truly difficult.

How odd that two polar opposites like these two were able to have a civil conversation. And come to this arrangement. Joaquin is right, words are powerful, harvested could be fruit. This was really beautiful, can't wait for a day this is no longer necessary because the compassion comes naturally and doesnt need to be learned💚🌱🌍

Me and my family are a traveling family i am 12 and ive got a 14 year old brother and a 10 year old sister and we were blessed during covid to stay at a caravan park and raise 4 little orphan lambs, they thought of us as there mum and they ran around the park with us it was adorable, but when we left they were abiut a year old and we left to travel but we heared they were going to a farm and it broke my heart bc i new what was comming for them, me and my family were doing as much as we can to save them so we called up our farmer friends that dont kill there animals and they said they will have our lambs so we called the guy ans he said he wont take them to a farm to get killed and now they are going to our friends farm and when we get our land we will have them. Hope that wasnt confusing but theres my story🥰💖🤧

A few months after Joaquin came a mother cow gave birth to a calf an as soon as she gave birth minutes after the mother died an the reason why was because none of the cows were given food or water for days at times an were kept out in the sun, later that night the calf died as well because they did not do anything to keep it alive an left it in a cold wet muddy cage by itself, alot of things I know about Anthony di maria an that is very crooked,greedy,two face,stubborn, another thing is more than 2 dozen cows died because they were not fed or given water an kept out in the heat all day he didn't want to buy food for an animal that was gonna be slaughtered within 2 days anyway from what I heard him say. A cow collapse right before being slaughtered an from what I was told that some workers were kicking the cow an electrocute it, once we told Anthony di maria about the problem he did not care for it at all an laughed about it an made jokes, I worked there for 1 year an three months, he doesn't care about the public health meat that was dated back from 2017 he would change it to a new date, some meat would turn green an start rotting an Anthony would tell the workers to cut off the rotting parts of the meat an re-bag them, Anthony di maria is no good an I hope he changes an leaves the business for good

If we REALLY want to save these mothers and their children, then do not buy animals milk. Do not ask for their meat on the dinner table and do not ask for their children's meat on the dinner table. This is the EASIEST and MOST EFFECTIVE ways to save them. Because all these killings, separations and grief are able to carry on only due to meat eaters. Without demand, all these agony will only then be able to stop.

Beautiful story. I’ve seen undercover videos of unbearable and horrifying treatment of cows on factory farms around the US. The animal agriculture industry has way too much lobbying power in DC so the government does not even regulate it to stop the blatant cruelty let alone get these animals out of factory farms and into green fields where they can run, be out in the sunshine and live a normal life. Dairy is especially an egregious industry; i’ve read the artificial insemination to impregnate cows in order to produce milk is very painful. This artificial insemination is repeated constantly during a cows life to produce milk. And when she is so exhausted she can no longer produce milk, they send her to the slaughterhouse after a lifetime of this slavery. Why don’t people drink almond milk? It’s a healthy alternative without all the cruelty. Thanks for this beautiful video. Just wish it could be repeated for all factory farms throughout the country.
