The MDA Labor Day Telethon was an enchanting yearly variety show that ran for half a century. Hosted for many years by Jerry Lewis, the telethon featured top stars from the world of music, comedy, and Broadway and was like no other show on earth.
The telethon was created to help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which is leading the fight against muscular dystrophy. MDA dedicates itself to strength, independence and life. To learn more about MDA and to donate, please visit www.MDA.org.

I can't believe this clip has had so few views. It cheers me up as much now as when the Jerry was alive. I know his time was up and considering his health he did well to last as long as he did, especially creatively. Of all the artists that I grew up loving, Jerry is the one I still miss for his passing. He left us so much joy to remember him by. This is a most perfect example. R.I.P. Jerry. ❤️ Thank you to MDA for this archival footage. ❤️

Some of my favorite moments in the telethon were when Jerry would goof around with performers during their act...funny stuff...Labor Day will never be the same anymore for me and now Jerry is gone too :(((((

I love how y’all are talking about Jerry Lewis! I’m watching to see my great grandfather! His name was Roland Cumberland and he was the director of the singing cedars. He passed away 10 years ago.
How these guys were able to keep singing with Jerry fooling around is beyond me! And with that blacked out teeth look!

Jerry Lewis was unique besides the fundraising for MDA. The telethon in its own way bought people togethet from all walks a life for a good cause.
