Jerry Lewis School of Manners - SNL
Ойын-сауық
Mr. Flang (Eddie Murphy) teaches at the Jerry Lewis School but when a student (Robin Duke) complains that he's rude, he brings in the principal (Joe Piscopo), who's adopted an older Jerry Lewis persona. [Season 8, 1983]

Eddy Murphy's Jerry Lewis impression is absolutely fantastic

It's perfect.
You can tell Eddie sat and watched Jerry Lewis, and impersonated him the entire time as a kid lol
Love it when Joe almost loses it. The good ol days shows are still just as good.
Wow both of their impressions were absolutely spot on! Loved it!
Joe's impression of Jerry was great! He looked just like him!
Eddie and Joe were a great team.

Yeah, it would be nice if they did some movies together, like John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd, and Chris Farley and David Spade. Sadly, they didn't. Kind of like John Candy and Martin Short didn't do any movies together, I think it would have been brilliant.
You forget Eddie Murphy, the person and believe the character, Jerry Lewis. Truly talented.
The Irony is that he played Jerry Lewis' character in "The Nutty Professor" lol

Jerry Lewis was a producer on the nutty professor, so I'll call it strategy rather than irony.

That's not irony, clearly he admires Jerry Lewis, and he chose to do the Nutty Professor.

Eddie Murphy is wonderful as young squeaky-voiced Jerry Lewis! Thank you for this!
This sketch was definitely a genius in training....he's had the opportunity to work alllll the legends. Wow just wow!
My god Eddie Murphy kills!!!! 😂😂😂
Eddie Murphy is spot on with his Jerry Lewis impersonation!!! I loved when Ron Howard was hosting and they did that "Return to Mayberry" skit! It was genius!!!
Now we know where Urkel got his inspiration from.
OMG too funny, Eddie must have watched a lot of Jerry Lewis movies growing up...you know the second SNL group that had the inevitable task of being the replacements for legends like Ackroyd, Belushi, Murray, Radner, Curtain, Morris and Newman were in a no win situation. But Eddie Murphy quickly was the breakout star, Piscopo, Robin Duke and even Gilbert Gottfried had some very funny moments, and they kept SNL alive, paving the way for future legends like Phil Hartman, Martin Short, Julia Louise Dreyfus and many more through out the 80's...
Two great impressionists!
Jerry's Kids Whaaaaa!
Wow Not in a million years would I have ever thought he could pull off the Jerry Lewis impersonation Too funny beyond words
He has Jerry Lewis down, up to the teeth. Pun intended

Perfect timing thank you so much amen. Philadelphia USA

GENIUS!!!
As if Jerry Lewis and Donkey from Shrek had a baby and it turned out as him lol
CLASSIC MATERIAL!!!!!
Before her time with SNL, Robin Duke was a cast member on SCTV.
So many comedy shows forget that doing clever impersonations is not enough to make a program actually funny, the person doing the act has to say or do things that are actually funny!
Hilarious bringing in two of Jerry Lewis' totally different personalities. Buddy Love would have been a good third.
Good grief ! There are so many gems in the old SNL !
I WROTE THIS SONG LA LA LA LA LA
The ironic thing is that Eddie looks like donkey from shrek with those teeth😂😂😂
Funny-thanks
Jerry Lewis was the original funny man then Lucille ball, redd fox, Richard Pryor,Eddie Murphy,Martin Lawrence, and so on

My wife wants to see LA Bohemme and I thought if this.😂😂😂😂
Eddie is more enjoyable as Jerry than Jerry Lewis himself.

Eddy is insanely talented…he got his nutty professor idea from jerry of course, who did the original in the 50s or 60s … perhaps itself a copy of an earlier version.. But eddies version ( series ) is cuckoo baby ! Absolutely cookoo.. The way he used his voice body language? Bow finger my favorite of eddies…. Was hilarious.. esp the scene of him crossing the freeway? That was bizarre. I fell out of my chair laughing at his performance… out of sight! And to imagine this dude rarely drinks … gets high .. and hung around with Rick James? That’s something to applaud.. you just don’t know how much blow Rick rip kept around during parties..,, I used to load my straw up when I sniffed … had me candy straws enough for weeks just after a few dips into a bowl he had . He had em all over the house … eddy didn’t touch a drop .. but Charlie rip ? That’s a different story. Rip Rick ….
Heeeey lady!!!
What! No water spray out the mouth
All RobinDuke needed was a posh British accent, and she could've been Princess Anne.
Wow. Never saw that segment of Eddie before. Joe looks hard to pin w his hair under that wig.

Classic 🤓🤓
This skit was about as funny as a root canal
In a time long long ago.......before TDS set in.
The guy from Bella Lugosi Meets A Brooklyn Gorilla probably saw this and got offended, even 20 years after that film was made. (Because he wasn't Jerry Lewis, before Jerry Lewis was, if I'm not mistaken.)
Back when SNL had real comedians, AND was funny.
Eddie Murphy is 22-years-old here. This is once-in-a-generation talent. You see it instantly. It's undeniable. When SNL was criticized a few years ago for not having a black woman on the cast, and then Sasheer Zamata and Leslie Jones were hired, they weren't ready. You didn't see the talent. Leslie was embarrassingly bad on sketches, flubbing lines, missing marks, etc. That's the danger of prioritizing identity over talent. If there was a black woman as talented as Eddie Murphy, she'd be on SNL in a heartbeat. Lorne is not being racist if he refuses to hire black women who aren't talented...and if he's forced to do so, you get train-wreck sketches that HURT black women because the black woman is the one fucking up...
@kingcassius2586
2 жыл бұрын
You make a very good point but then again.. MadTV and In Living Color had absolutely no problems finding SEVERAL talented Black women.. AND in a very short amount of time.
@cantilever
2 жыл бұрын
@@kingcassius2586 SNL had undeniably talented black women over the years: Ellen Cleghorne and Maya Rudolph, who each were on the show for years. The Eddie Murphy-esque phenom to emerge from ILC, ironically, was white boy Jim Carrey, who became a superstar because he was so talented...talent is the thing...
@kingcassius2586
2 жыл бұрын
@@cantilever indeed true, especially on the Jim Carrey example. But as far as Black women on SNL.. we're talking about a handful since '75. ILC & MadTV had far more over a significantly shorter amount of time. They had no problem finding them. Granted MTV only had 2 but that's 1 more than SNL had in its 1st 25 at least.
how dyu get so many cast members who suck, outside of just one or 2 or 3 cast members
