    JERRY LEWIS was so seriously ill and his medication did that to him. LEWIS was a wonderful dancer, taught film at the University of California, his course was required, that's how good he was. How difficult it is for a friend to sit next to a death bed and bolster morale, taking all that weight, making all the other people feel comfortable! DON RICKLES was a genius in Humanity. Whether with a new young talk show host or old friends his Love and timing were impeccable. This vid is a real gem, watching these two brilliant men at work. RIP JERRY LEWIS🙏🏼 RIP DON RICKLES 🙏🏼 And may perpetual light shine upon them, Shalom 🙏🏼❤

    That moment when Rickles got up. He knew there were no more jokes to be had, the audience was with Lewis, and that Lewis' statement was from the heart. What a sign of a great performer. You are there to entertain, but also know when it is time to leave. No last minute punch lines or any other fanfare. Just a handshake, hug, and a good bye.

    2017 "The year the laughter died" I miss having those two around for so long. Absolute legends made generations of people laugh. There can never be another like those two. Even Don Rickles got some heat for comments in his last years. We live in different times. People are too sensitive and self important and cant take a joke. These guys had a way of taking jabs and then at the end made it all clear it was in good fun and showed what God loving men they were.

  • @byHexted

    @byHexted

    2 жыл бұрын

    Wow way to show you couldn’t know less about Jerry Luis. “Taking jabs and then making it clear it was all in good fun” is the exact opposite of Jerry Luis. Ruined every relationship he was in, and then held onto every grudge until the person died then he turns around and pretends they were great friends. Oh and not to mention he’s a literal rapist and continued trying to harass women and treat his children and wife like garbage until the end lmao Don rickles has gotten shit since he started in the fucking 50s, if you knew anything about him you’d hear him tell those stories countless times about how nobody liked it at first. He didn’t say nobody was offended he’s literally always said he isn’t for everybody, he didn’t even like Jerry Luis that’s why he fucking never saw him but leave it to these fake rickles fans to use him in death to push their agendas about comedy. If you’re too ignorant and lazy to actually know who the COUNTLESS hilarious game changing comedians of today are that’s your fault not theirs. Rickles understood. DANGERFIELD understood, that’s why he did nothing but start and help young comics, and hung out with them in his personal life instead of older comics. Y’all do the same thing with him you say how much funnier his generation is when literally he didn’t even think that that’s why he didn’t hang out with people from his generation, that’s why he had to change his name TWICE before getting any success

  • @byHexted

    @byHexted

    Also stop being such a baby. Yeah Don rickles made a few bad jokes in his career every comedian has. That doesn’t mean every time someone makes a joke that people don’t like or isn’t funny that they’re “offended”. I can point out that dons jokes about race are super surface level, that isn’t because I’m offended it’s because they’re always about a black stereotype. Which he does because he’s basically a parody of an ignorant insult comic, but people like you take what he ironically says as some beacon for free speech or comedy when people say way worse shit then him and have since he started. I love rickles but I can point out that his race jokes are lazy without calling him racist, or saying he shouldn’t be allowed to say it or some shit nobody said that, y’all assume that anytime there’s a joke that’s “offensive” that people don’t find funny.

    People praise Rickles, but the fact Jerry Lewis took this humor in his condition and at his age - now that's worth some serious kudos. And Rickles...I love him, but man when he takes the time to say he will send a check for a thousand dollars...the man's a millionaire, like in reality, he was being kinda cheap here.

    📺 I wish they were still doing yet, like for real here. I used to watch this every year when it came on and our parents would let us stay up really late, well at least until we fell asleep. I'm just throwing this out here, Jerry Lee Lewis wife or somebody else could have taken this over and continue to do it. It's a shame that they had to stop doing this.
