A world without Jerry Lewis... Somehow I thought he would live, and stay young, forever. Really hard watching how in the last few years he really did age. Well, someday he'll be with us again. If you believe in God you know what I mean. Oh how I want to meet him then ! Jerry you will always be a treasure.

Growing up as kid this is one thing I'll always remember labor day weekend watching Jerry Lewis telethon and going to the mall to get school clothes and putting money in the fish bowl for Jerry's kids priceless memories !thanks for posting these 🙂

Where I live the mda telethon aired on 9&10 from the 1970's till 1996 then switched to 7&4 from 1997 to 2010.

The 2008 and 2009 telethon on the totes use a variant of a olympic fanfare and movie fanfare substitute the original telethon fanfare
It's a sad world now that MDA doesn't even have the Telethon anymore.
I miss Ed Mcmahon i enjoyed him on Star Search too

It's interesting to watch the development of the tote board. I really hated the tote being presented painfully slowly, digit by digit from the end of the number. It's not like there was suspense. You knew that another million was coming up, so get to the point, I always thought. You can also follow the condition of the US economy and the size of the network that commenced coverage of the telethon at 9pm EDT versus later, as it changed from year to year. Sometimes it took them little over an hour and a half to reach a million; sometimes two and a half hours.

What I meant was the first million from 1980
That Cystic Fibrosis changed Jerry Lewis made him get old 😢
