Talks Music feature an hour-long exclusive interview with a guest who has been influential in the music industry. The guests will discuss their passions and inspirations as well as the pressures of the industry.
Malcolm Gerrie, who also acts as executive producer on the programme, said: "When Sky Arts asked me if I'd like to change my day job and talk to some of the coolest artists on the planet, in front of the camera not behind, I was pretty gobsmacked! The whole experience of talking music to some of my personal music heroes has been a labour of love and I'm delighted that ...Talks Music will be part of a channel so committed to music and musicians."

In the annals of post WWII music Jeff Beck will sit atop the Pantheon of great musicians/guitarists having truly mastered his craft. I think of the likes of Oscar Peterson, Miles, Trane, Parker, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, John McLaughlin, The Beatles, Jimi to name a few and yes, Jeff will be on that special list too. One must realize he gave us nearly 60 years of pushing the envelope with his guitar. 60 years not wasted on resting on his laurels. 60 years of great music. And I'm fortunate to have lived through all of that, to bear witness, to have so enjoyed seeing him perform a few times live and up close. Thanks for that, Jeff, rip.

YMMV, @mattgwardesq, after all, it's music! To me, SRV added flashes & flourishes that are more of the head than the heart. Jimi was singing about his love, and there's a purity and tenderness there that I don't hear in most of his other music. No doubt that SRV is great, but to me he's flashier and Jimi got straight to it.

What a humble, lovely guy. Great interview. Jeff is sadly missed. I hate it when the old British rockers leave us. We need them, to inform and inspire the young ones, more than ever.

A turning point in my life was the first time I heard Blue Wind. I was 16 and rather one-dimensional when it came to music. I was at a concert waiting for a band to come on stage. In the meantime, they were playing a new record through the stacks. I asked a friend what that incredible song was. It was the aforementioned Blue Wind. It blew my mind and opened up new horizons into jazz for me. Soon afterward I was listening to everything from Frank Zappa and Chick Corea, to Bill Evans and Miles Davis. For that, I will be forever grateful to Jeff Beck. Oh, the band finally did come on stage. Led Zeppelin.

What the world lost when Jeff died, is immeasurable. One of the greatest guitarists of all time. Jazz, Rock, North African, Blues, Flamenco, Funk, Classical, Folk -- he knew it all. A creative powerhouse.

Rod Stewart was made to sing blues and rock. When he started singing pop and chick ballads I was depressed and he has never been the same.

Despite its massive overuse, their really is only one word to encapsulate the talent, and creativity of Jeff Beck. And that word is genius.

What a gem of a man and guitarist. We all gotta go at some point, but man, it's tough to see such heavy hitters as JB pass on. What a legacy

My God, tears in my eyes, what a great loss, no one can make their guitar talk & sing like Jeff did! His playing guitar strings dug on your heart & emotions. . . 🎶🎸🎶 And such a humble, funny & fun man. Rest easy Mistro! 🕊🦅🕊🦅🕊🦅
