My wife and I watched the show by accident. We were pleasantly surprised. The main guy was such a nice guy. He truly did choose all of the compassionate options. It really was Truman meets the Office. Exactly what my wife and I explain it as.

Ronald Gladdens are few and far between. I hope that changes. Maybe people will watch this show and ask themselves, "What would Ronald Gladden do?" when they are confronted by people who are a bit off, different, or branded as a weirdo. Jury Duty is an incredible show! It should be required watching for Civics classes. It is thoughtful while also allowing people to see how far the bounds of “Justice” can go. It gives some insight to actual jury duty while teaching the biggest lesson on humanity.
@kimberray1057
5 ай бұрын
This show is not an accurate representation of jury duty, so it would only work in a civics class if students were required to write an essay identifying all the fictionalized aspects of the Jury Duty tv show versus the real thing (which could be an interesting assignment). Among the Craigslist applicants, the producers needed to specifically find someone unfamiliar with the justice system in order to pull off certain aspects of the show.
@hannahhudson9335

@@kimberray1057I don’t think she meant that Jury Duty should be shown in Civics classes because of its legal accuracy, I think she meant in the sense that it’s a social experiment and is representation of how people interact. At least that’s how I interpreted it 😅 I think it should be shown in acting courses, to stay in character for so long!

That's funny, I too sat through all the episodes of Jury Duty in one sitting. It was awesome. James Marsden killed it. He was hilarious. All the improv actors were great. I must say though, Ronald Gladden is an amazing human being w/the patience of a saint. There were moments where I was like, "Oh, hell no 😤! That couldn't be me". I must admit, I would've called Marsden all kinds of A-holes to his face 🤣. Especially, when he gets the jury sequestered to a hotel but Marsden gets the privilege of going to his home at the end of each day. Meanwhile everyone else is stuck going from the courtroom to the hotel & back again w/no contact w/family & friends. That's where I would've gone off on Marsden. So, I am so glad I was not the one at the end of that experiment 😅. Kudos to Ronald Gladden who honestly gave us all faith in humanity. He is truly a class act.

I kept bypassing the show when it was coming up on Amazon. I didn't think it would be very good. I finally decided to click on it. I'm glad I did. It was so funny. One thing that keeps playing in my mind, is when the guy is telling someone over the phone that he is the owner of 2 gumball machines and a sticker machine, as if it is a great business. I thought that was so funny. The whole thing was funny. All the actors did a great job. James Marsden had such great facial expressions. He is very handsome. Great job to all who put it together.

Spoilers in my comment: I love how sweet and friendly Ronald was with Marsden even when Marsden was playing an egocentric lunatic up UNTIL the cake flip. You could just see Ronald being DONE with him after that. I think Marsden really liked Ronald and I wonder if it hurt him to see the guy just glaring at him after that scene. Also, I LOVE that they made the Todd character to freak Ronald out and instead he took him under his wing and guided him. What a sweet sweet human.

My mom and I were very lucky to see this live with the tickets I ordered for the 1 May show, the last episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert filmed before the 2023 strike. I wanted to see James Marsden because he had a very interesting line of work to follow - mostly with film roles, but also some small television series roles in Second Noah, Ally McBeal, 30 Rock and Wander Over Yonder. However, the biggest reason why I was excited to see James, of all people, is because he was lucky to play the main live-action character of two live-action-animation hybrid films: Fred O'Hare in Hop and Tom Wachowski in Sonic the Hedgehog.
