James Marsden & Ronald Gladden Share Inside Look At 'Jury Duty'
Ойын-сауық
James Marsden and Ronald Gladden joined Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover on Access Daily to talk about their new show, "Jury Duty." The show follows Ronald Gladden working on jury duty while the rest of the people involved are actors who take Ronald on a wild ride. One of those actors is James Marsden who plays himself in the show and when James and Ronald met on set, Ronald said, "I did have to do a Google search on the guy." You can watch "Jury Duty" on Amazon Freevee on April 7.

I get the impression that James is purposely doing most of the talking because he knows Ronald dislikes public speaking as he's said in the show several times. Very sweet

I'm glad to see someone else that noticed this. Everyone keeps talking about how he wasn't given a lot of room to speak in this interview this but they seem to forget that he is just a normal guy. Like he said in the show he is probably way more comfortable sitting outside of the main light.

They somewhat socially engineer things
The last 'reveal' episode, they left out clips of Ronald, a non actor, 'acting' to help James prepare for his upcoming role. Ronald was such a sport to do that. He is such a nice, adorable guy. So patient, accepting, loyal, kind, sporting, and respectful. On day 10, not wanting to hurt Noah's feelings, he held back from him that his girlfriend had in fact broken off their relationship. He deserved every dollar of the reward for being a 'hero.'

There’s a show from the late aughts called The Joe Shmoe Show, and it has such a similar premise, this time under the guise of a reality show. The “mark” is also an incredibly wholesome guy who ended up being such a sweetheart and all around good guy that they failed the show to give him a “hero” edit. A pre-SNL Kristin Wiig was one of the castmates. I have no idea if that appeals to you, but if you need to take it easy, it’s fun to watch.

He's such a sweet dude. Honestly, such a wholesome dude.
It's so funny that Ronald was a Ben Schwartz fan who was most well-known for his character Jean-Ralphio on Parks and Rec. But then he had no clue that the juror Pat McCurdy was really the actor Kirk Fox who also starred in Parks and Rec. Although nowhere near as important or as featured a character as Jean-Ralphio, I still believe Kirk's character Joe was quite memorable in the 8 episodes he appeared in. If somehow you are reading this comment and still haven't seen every episode of Jury Duty or Parks and Rec, what are you doing with your life? Both are hilarious shows that are worthy of revisiting again and again.
