Seriously... It was refreshing. At least we've come a long way from the invasion of toxic "reality" shows from the early 2000s. There's still shows like Milf Manor but at least people are receptive to something wholesome that just didn't interest viewers before.

I don't think that was the goal, i think they just let the show happen without trying to force anything and it just ended up that way. Which is still very commendable most people try to force a narrative even in reality tv

@@nellucthegreat8615 the script should be irrelevant unless it was staged, I don't think they would throw the entire production away if he ended up being worse, they would have definitely edited it as much as possible to make him more of a "hero" if things had gone differently tho but I doubt they would have cared very much if there was more drama, like they said the neighbor was supposed to creep him out and make him uncomfortable but since they had our man it ended up much more wholesome than they planned

This dude really should get into movies, he has the movie star look and everything. His parents did a very good job of raising him. He was empathetic, kind, understanding but also showed great leadership qualities. I love how he saw "the inventor" in the weird guy and shows him the movie which contains a misunderstood inventor instead of seeing him as a weird creep (which lets be honest most of us would have and then avoided him like the plague). Instead he wanted to bring him out of his shell. Or how he was willing to take the fall for James and his turd, and the paparazzi incident and be the wingman for the nerd. What a lovely guy. He would make a great friend, I am sure.

The thing is, most members of the general public haven't served on a jury before (and indeed, that was one of the criteria for the Craigslist ad). This whole premise had to rely on the fact that most people don't know the detailed machinations of the system, so the producers could get away with bending the rules a bit. They wouldn't be able to pull off the exact same thing twice though.

Just watched last night, binged the whole thing. Somehow I missed the message about how he didnt know. I thought Ronald was another actor playing along. I had no idea. Still having a hard time believing he didnt know. I was just as surprised as him when the judge told him.

Ronald was the best actor in show. Acting as if he wasn't in a show.

If you believe he truly didn’t know exactly what was going on, then he wasn’t acting, he was just being himself. I have wondered if he truly didn’t know however. They said his girlfriend helped by telling him his phone would be taken away. Do we believe that she wouldn’t tell him the true nature of the show beforehand? Hard to say. Either way, it’s an entertaining show to watch.

@@lifeisgood6074 I agree, it was a very funny show, I watched the whole thing knowing it was staged. The comedy style reminded me of The Office. But it's cheaper, easier to produce, and more entertaining if EVERYONE was part of the script, and everyone was acting. How do we know Ronald has a girlfriend? That could be part of the script. Good show, but I'm not buying Ronald wasn't just acting like everyone else.

If this "victim" is himself not an actor, then if he wants, he may sue the show for kidnaping. He felt compelled to be sequestered for a whole month because he thought he was following the law. I don't know what would happen if a citizen refuses to comply to their jury duty responsibility when they are not excused by the judge, but many people would think that they may be put in jail. I am not sure the lawyers for this show really thought this through.

He applied for a special job on craiglist, to be a volunteer on a trial (apperently that's possible in California) and being filmed for a documentary.

Beautiful show, but somehow criminal. God bless this man for being such a good sport. It might have carried long disturbing consequences for many a different candidate.
