The way he played the role in prisoners was actually Gyllenhaal's idea, he proposed a detective that was mysterious to make the plot even tighter and more suspenseful.

Why do you think he is underrated - has has won a lot of awards, is an Oscars regular and was even nominated for one. Loved Prisoners too.

He was in great shape for his boxing movie, but that was quite some time ago. Seeing he's now 40 with those abs... wow!!! Anyhow, always liked this guy and his sis Maggie, too!

End of Watch was one of my FAV movies with Jake in it. Go support this movie. The interpreters and their families sacrificed a lot and some gave all. Both in OEF and OIF. No one left behind. Our country needs to live by those words. 🇺🇸

When Carrie responded by the job they both looked at each other like wow…what a talent

So many times I thought this is his year.. but the academy overlooks him for his best roles.. Jar head- and the Guilty-Had me entralled! He so deserved 😮the Golden statue.. it’s okay Jake.. we know.. yeah we know!🎉

Oh man, this just makes me wanna watch Jarhead again. My favorite Gyllenhaal movie.

I went with my gut. It was the way Alex was looking around in the beginning and blinking/paying attention to the other people. I know when I’m high, even if I’m not super anxious, sometimes I’m a lil more attentive and watchful of people around me to try and seem normal.

Jake is awesome actor. He looks young without facial hair. He looks younger & handsome when he is beefier, thick, that his face plumped up. I watch all his movies. Always phenomenal ❤

Phenomenal actor in a phenomenal phsyical shape. I grew up watching films with him and, for me, he looks as young as he did look 15 years ago. What a legend!)

Yes his talent is incomparable. Multi-faceted and great character acting. He seems to become the personification of the character he is portraying. And on top of all that handsome as hell!!

So many go on about Keanu Reeves not aging but damn, Jake doesn't look like he's aged a day in over 15 years.

It took me a while to appreciate Jake but now I just love him, everything he does is pure gold ❤

I remember it in “The Gentlemen”, but I can’t remember seeing it in “Operation Fortune”. I did notice much of the cast was the same.

I just watched the Covenant, and from the Bubble Boy to South Paw, and now this movie, Jake is such a great actor! That's just my opinion! Great stuff!

LOL In all seriousness though, if there were ever an actor in Hollywood who deserved more recognition, it's Jake. He's one of the best in the business. The fact that he has one Oscar nom and no wins is a crime. "Prisoners," "Nightcrawler," "Brokeback," "Nocturnal Animals," "Zodiac"....He's never given a bad performance.
